Extron XTP Receiver with 90º HDMI Output for Installation Behind Wall-Mounted Displays Now Shipping

Extron Electronics is very pleased to announce the immediate availability of the XTP R HWP 201, a Decora®-style wallplate receiver for XTP Systems. It features a unique, Extron-exclusive design specifically to handle the space constraints behind wall-mounted displays. The HDMI output connector is oriented upward at a 90° angle, which minimizes stress on the cable and allows for a low-profile flat panel display installation. This HDCP-compliant receiver accepts XTP signals from up to 330 feet (100 meters) away over a single shielded CATx cable and outputs video, audio, control, and Ethernet to the display. It also provides HDMI audio de-embedding with analog stereo audio output and volume control. For simplified integration, the wallplate receiver can be remotely powered by the XTP CrossPoint matrix switcher. The XTP R HWP 201 is designed for use in XTP Systems to support long-distance signal transmission in wall-mount environments.

“We recognize that AV system designers and integrators are constantly being asked to close the gap between the wall and a flat panel display for aesthetic and security reasons,” says Casey Hall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Extron. “The XTP R HWP 201 gives them the discreet, reliable, and easy to integrate solution they’ve been waiting for.”

The XTP R HWP 201 supports video signals up to 1920×1200, including 1080p/60 Deep Color and 2K. In addition to HDMI video, it delivers embedded digital audio signals or can de-embed the audio for two-channel balanced/unbalanced analog stereo audio output. Integrator-friendly features include EDID Minder for continuous EDID communication between devices, Key Minder that authenticates and maintains HDCP encryption for quick and reliable transmission, a convenient cable tie-down point to ensure a secure and reliable HDMI connection, along with LAN and bidirectional control ports for the display. An RS-232 and IR insertion port on the front panel of the XTP R HWP 201 allows bidirectional control to further simplify integration with a control system for managing the display.

Integrators worldwide are excited about how easy it is to install and set up XTP Systems. To see what they are saying, please visit: www.extron.com/xtptestimonials
