LECTROSONICS NOW SHIPPING DNT16i and DNT0212 AUDIO PROCESSORS WITH DANTE™

*** the Lectrosonics DNT16i input processor and the DNT0212 output processor. ***

Rio Rancho, NM – April 2014… Lectrosonics, recognized the world over as a leading manufacturer of wireless microphone systems and audio processing products, is now shipping the latest new products using the Dante™ networked audio transport protocol: the DNT16i input processor and the DNT0212 output processor. Each of these supports both switched and redundant Dante modes of operation. Each unit also features 48 independent automatic mixers with 36 inputs per mixer.

The DNT16i features 16 mic/line analog inputs via Phoenix connectors with 48V phantom power and wide gain control on each. As a processor, the DNT16i provides inputs into a Dante network from analog and digital signals. Each input provides extensive signal processing and routing to any one or all of 48 automatic mixers operating at the cross points of an internal digital matrix within the processor. The outputs of the matrix can be assigned to a Dante transmit channel and/or be routed back to an input to be further mixed with other inputs. The DNT16i is 1RU in size.

The DNT0212 output processor features 2 line level analog inputs, 8 line level analog outputs, and 4 mic/line analog outputs. The DNT0212 subscribes to channels on a Dante network and delivers them to an internal digital matrix for automatic mixing and processing. The outputs of the matrix can be assigned to a Dante transmit channel, an analog output and/or be routed back to an input to be further mixed and processed with other channels or matrix mixes. Outputs also include speaker management DSP functions.

Both new DNT units are at home in sound reinforcement, conference systems, room combining, courtrooms, council chambers, houses of worship, production studios, and numerous other multi-channel sound systems. High quality A/D and D/A converters provide studio quality audio. Delay, EQ filters and dynamic processing is available on every input and output channel. Smooth gain transition is employed to prevent audible artifacts caused by abrupt level changes.

All DNT units can be controlled via USB, RS-232, Ethernet and programmable logic I/O. The Dante network protocol is built on global networking standards including Internet Protocols, not just Ethernet. With true IP routing, Dante technology works as an IT network capable of transporting professional quality audio and high-definition video with no limits on one’s layout options. Dante delivers sample-accurate playback synchronization, even over multiple switch hops. Latency is extremely low, regardless of whether one chooses to run the network with fixed or optimized latency. Dante runs on inexpensive off-the-shelf computer networking hardware and does not require dedicated network infrastructure.

MSRP pricing for the new Lectrosonics Dante offerings is:

• DNT16i input processor; $4,325
• DNT0212 output processor $3,995
