Solstice 2.0 from Mersive Takes Visual Collaboration to New Levels

Mersive releases the next generation of its Solstice wireless collaboration software

June 17, 2014, Denver: Mersive a provider of display management and collaboration software, today set a new standard for wireless collaboration with the release of Solstice 2.0, the next generation of its award-winning software product. With new features such as display-side interaction, multi-touch support and an updated, intuitive user interface, Solstice 2.0 takes the technology to a new level.

With Solstice software, users can walk into a meeting room and instantly connect their wireless devices – laptops, tablets, smartphones – share content and control the display, creating an instant collaboration session. The software supports an unlimited number of simultaneous users sharing the display, which can be a flat panel, projector or video wall. As a pure software solution, Solstice display software runs on a standard Windows computer on an existing WiFi or Ethernet network, and supports Windows, Apple and Android laptops and mobile devices. Solstice also provides enterprise software benefits, including centralized management via an IT dashboard and easy integration AV room control systems.

Enhancements made in Solstice 2.0 include:

Enhanced user interface developed from customer feedback.
Multi-touch support when using a touch screen for the shared display.
iPad and iPhone mirroring.
User interface added to display-side software that enables control of the session directly at the shared screen using touch or a keyboard.
Dynamically select access and control options (such as password lock and moderation) without interrupting the session in progress.
As with the previous versions, Solstice supports real-time sharing of applications, documents, images and videos (1080p at 30fps). Video streams include synchronized audio.
“This latest release of Solstice builds on our prior success as the leader in software-based wireless content sharing and incorporates all of the feedback from our end users and partners to extend functionality and take usability to a new level of simplicity,” said Rob Balgley, Mersive’s CEO. “The big winners are our customers who are reaping the benefits of having chosen a software-based solution, which can evolve quickly and elegantly to meet their needs now and into the future.”

“Software is central to everything across all the key IT segments – now its time has come in the AV world, and adoption is increasing rapidly. The new version of Solstice brings the advantages of software to display technology while providing a deeper integration of AV systems throughout an enterprise, at a reduced cost and easy upgrade path as new advances come along,” said Christopher Jaynes, Mersive’s Founder and CTO. “Solstice 2.0 further supports Mersive’s dedication to offering innovation collaboration software alternatives that replace complicated and expensive hardware solutions.”

Solstice provides a robust collaboration solution and transforms displays into shared network devices that are part of the IT infrastructure. Since its debut in March 2013, some of the world’s largest corporations have trialed and adopted Solstice, along with top universities seeking to enhance collaboration in meetings and educational settings. Certus Bank and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania are currently implementing large-scale deployments of Solstice on their campuses.

Mersive will showcase its Solstice software at booth #N2537 at InfoComm 2014, the premier event for the audiovisual communications industry.
