Pro Audio Technology Subwoofer Offers Deep Bass from Shallow Cabinet

The LFC-12v is the most affordable PRO subwoofer and an ideal performer in rooms where multiple subwoofers are desired or where space is at a premium.

Lake Forest, CA – July 17, 2014 – Pro Audio Technology (PRO), the leader in loudspeakers and DSP-programmable amplifier systems for residential properties, today announced the LFC-12v subwoofer. PRO’s new high-sensitivity architectural subwoofer is equipped with a 12-inch, 700W driver and achieves a maximum output of 117dB from a 6-inch deep cabinet.

The professional-grade 12-inch driver employed in PRO’s LFC-12v includes a high-powered motor system designed with the most demanding music and movie soundtracks in mind. Its over-sized, four-inch voice coil aids with heat dissipation, greatly improving the thermal stability of the driver, allowing the LFC-12v to handle long periods of high output playback without over-heating and with no threat of sonic compression or damage.  The subwoofer’s four front-firing free-flow ports enhance the LFC-12v’s low-frequency extension and output, resulting in a highly dynamic listening experience.

At 14-inches wide, the LFC-12v’s enclosure is designed to fit into a standard stud bay.  Its shallow 6-inch depth lets it function as a primary subwoofer in media and multi-purpose rooms with limited space, or as an in-wall solution for side and rear wall placement in elaborate multi-subwoofer home theaters.  Designed for use with PRO’s DSP driven amplifier / processors, integrators can select between power levels of 300, 450, and 1000 watts per channel to drive the subwoofer.  Rated at a sensitivity of 96dB with one watt of input power, this subwoofer is quick to provide dynamic, visceral bass power in every installation.

“The advantages of using multiple subwoofers in a home theater or media room are well known, but the floor space they require can be a real issue. Our LFC-12v addresses space constraints while maintaining the high-output performance and visceral slam that customers and integrators expect from PRO subwoofers,” said Paul Hales, Pro Audio Technology founder.

PRO’s DMA and PMA amplifiers provide power to the LFC-12v while enabling in-room performance calibration via PRO SoundTools, a proprietary software program that makes it easy for integrators to attain optimized audio performance in a matter of minutes. For advanced users, PRO SoundTools provides parametric EQ and delay capabilities so installers can address in-room low-frequency modal problems and precisely tune sophisticated multi-subwoofer systems.

The LFC-12v is Pro Audio Technology’s most affordable subwoofer available, for more information, please visit: www.proaudiotechnology.com.

H-P Products Element 2300 Central Vac Cleans up to 12,000 sq. ft

A convenient dual-filtration design and a powerful new engine make the Element 2300 ideal for large homes and light commercial applications.

Louisville, OH – July 8, 2014 – H-P Products, a leading manufacturer of central vacuums and custom tubing-related products, is proud to announce the Element 2300, its most powerful Element Series central vacuum power unit, designed for large homes and businesses up to 12,000 sq. ft.

The Element 2300 offers several innovations for a cleaner home with less hassle. The cyclonic, dual-filtration system deflects heavy particles with a filter shroud, depositing them directly into the dirt canister to reduce wear and tear of the inverted filter. Smaller dust particles are captured by the self-cleaning, permanent CleanShield inverted filter that eliminates the need for an outdoor exhaust, improves air quality, and never needs to be replaced. A simple, yet effective, carbon dust filtration system on the powerful Ametek motor protects walls and reduces carbon dust emissions.

About that motor, H-P Products partnered with Ametek/Lamb to design a completely new 8.4″ high-performance motor with 707 max air watts of power and 136 CFM of airflow to pick up pebbles, crumbs, hair, grass and other debris. The Element 2300 also features an on-board inlet which allows for easy vacuuming from the power unit location.

“Convenience, power and efficiency are the key factors driving central vacuum adoption these days,” said Amy Wesely, marketing manager, H-P Products. “The Element 2300 is about as low-maintenance as it comes for a central vacuum system since the filter never needs replacing, there’s no exhaust required, and the dirt canister only needs to be emptied three or four times a year.” Wesely added, “The 2300 is also backed by a powerful Lifetime Limited Warranty to the original homeowner.”

According to the 11th Annual State of the Builder Market Study done jointly by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB), 18 percent of all new homes included central vacuum. That is a 64 percent increase since 2007, making it the second-fastest growing technology product category installed in new homes behind only home theater. It is also one of the most profitable categories for installers, frequently earning 50-point margins.

Wesely continued, “Central vacuum presents a great opportunity for residential dealers to expand into light commercial segments like hair salons, dog groomers, workshops, etc. There’s not a lot of competition and it’s easy to sell the benefits of central vac to someone who’s always cleaning the floors as part of his or her business.”

Linear Launches Intelligent Three-Way Z-Wave Light Switch

Unlike most three-way switches that require a traveler wire, this smart switch can be installed just about anywhere there’s AC power

Carlsbad, CA – June 23, 2014 – Leading security and home automation, access control, and health and wellness manufacturer for residential and commercial markets, Linear LLC today announced the launch of its 3-way Z-Wave® smart switch, model WT00Z™.   The new Z-Wave smart switch allows remote ON/OFF control and dimming of as many as five other Z-Wave controlled lights, and adds another intelligent control solution to Linear’s Internet of Things (IoT) portfolio.  Linear, including its 2GIG® brand of products, is the largest user of Z-Wave chipsets in the world.

The Linear® WT00Z™ smart switch gives professional security and home automation installers an invaluable tool by offering a desirable home control lighting function that previously was either not possible or practical.  Because the Linear 3-way smart switch does not directly control a load, it can serve as a virtual 3-way switch and be wired anywhere power is available, without the need for a traveler wire.  When paired with a 2GIG® Go!Control® system, or other brand of home automation controller, the 3-way Z-Wave smart switch offers simple control of one, two or as many as five other lights, making it easy for consumers to quickly illuminate or extinguish lights with a simple flip of a nearby wall switch.

“This new 3-way Z-Wave switch is extremely important to our portfolio of connected devices.  It solves a vexing problem for installers, while bolstering the capabilities and value of the Go!Control® automation panels they install.  Controlling a light from two locations is a convenience most people have come to expect, but anyone who’s done electrical wiring knows it’s not always that simple,” said Duane Paulson, senior vice president of product and market development for Linear.  “This new Z-Wave smart switch makes it easy.  This is another example of our commitment to bring smarter products to market that add convenience, while enhancing the value of our 2GIG® home control platform, which continues to accelerate in popularity.”

Linear is also a principal member of the Z-Wave Alliance.  “Z-Wave is at the heart of the world’s largest ecosystem of interoperable smart products, and it will continue to grow. Our partnership is stronger than ever and we remain committed to bringing innovative, intelligent Z-Wave control solutions to the residential and commercial markets,” continued Paulson.

Z-Wave® is an international wireless standard for intelligent, interoperable, low-power, RF mesh networking technology. This powerful smart chip and compact protocol enable two-way RF communications among Z-Wave enabled devices. Linear is now manufacturing, selling and distributing Z-Wave lighting control products that include: wall dimmers, wall switches, wall outlets, lamp modules, appliance modules, 3-way switches/dimmers, fixture modules, as well as international versions of the same products plus other Z-Wave enabled security and convenience devices. Linear also has the capability to utilize its extensive OEM experience to manufacture Z-Wave products for partner companies seeking their own intelligent lighting solutions.

H-P Products Vroom® Garage Vac Conveniently Tackles Car and Garage Messes

A valuable add-on product for garage door installers and other technology integration specialists, the Vroom Garage Vac comes in flush-mount and surface mount models and installs in 10 minutes or less.

Louisville, OH – May 14, 2014 – H-P Products, a leading manufacturer of central vacuums and custom tubing-related products, is proud to announce the launch of its new Vroom® Garage Vac, the perfect accessory for any modern garage, workshop or condo. Needing only 2.5 square feet of wall space, the Vroom Garage Vac uses a 40-foot expandable hose to remove tough-to-reach dirt and debris from nooks and crannies without requiring users to lug a bulky shop vac or awkward handheld vacuum everywhere they go.

The Vroom Garage Vac comes in two models; a flush-mount model that can be recess mounted inside a 2×4 stud wall for low profile hard wire installations, or a surface mount version that can be installed anywhere. Both models come with five attachment tools to tackle any cleaning job, including: a telescoping wand and floor tool, a two-piece upholstery tool with horsehair, a dashboard brush, and a flexible crevice tool, all of which are integrated  into the tool caddy or a convenient wall mount.

Putting traditional “shop-vacs” to shame, the Vroom® Garage Vac is equipped with a 12-amp motor for maximum suction and performance, and it comes with an industry-best six year warranty. The easily-replaceable five-layer, one-gallon microfiber filtration bag ensures no dust, debris, or allergens are exhausted, significantly improving the air quality where the Garage Vac is used.

“It’s no secret garages and basements tend to be some of the messiest areas in the house with some of the poorest air quality,” said Amy Wesely, H-P Products Marketing Manager. “The Vroom Garage Vac was designed top to bottom for the demands of garages and workshops and it is the best offense against sawdust, car dirt, sand, and all the other debris that invade and accumulate. Plus, it’s great as a low-profile central vacuum system for condos or smaller homes.”

That is a 64 percent increase since 2007, making it the second-fastest growing technology product category installed in new homes behind only home theater. It is also one of the most profitable categories for installers, frequently earning 50-point margins.

The Garage Vac presents easy upsell opportunities when working with new build projects and clients getting new garage door installations. The Garage Vac’s size and weight (only nine pounds) make it a great buy for workspaces, small businesses, and condos that would benefit from a convenient, space-saving wall-mounted vacuum system.

Wesely continued, “From an installers perspective, there’s never been a better time to sell central vacuum systems. Demand is high, competition is low and there are innovative products like the Garage Vac that are ideal for a multitude of difference customers and projects. ”
