HARMAN’s BSS Audio Introduces Soundweb™ Contrio Wall Controllers Providing Enhanced System Functionality for End-Users in Variety of Applications

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — HARMAN’s BSS Audio today introduced its Soundweb Contrio family of wall controllers, designed to provide greater system control and flexibility for a variety of fixed install applications. The Soundweb Contrio wall controller lineup features four models that, in addition to advanced multiple zone control, can easily be employed in a room-combining and splitting environment. The Soundweb Contrio platform and its two initial products, the Contrio wall controller range and Contrio Server, are the first within the Soundweb Contrio family that will ultimately provide enhanced system control capability and audio routing flexibility for a variety of applications.

All Soundweb Contrio products will be backward compatible with existing BSS Audio Soundweb London devices, providing the widest and most comprehensive choice of audio processing, distribution and control devices available in a single system solution today.

Contrio wall controllers are powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet) and are compatible with HARMAN HiQnet™ products. Simple controls and multi-colored visual feedback and displays make the controllers approachable and straightforward for non-technical users. Multiple modes of operation allow system integrators to tailor the functionality of the controller to the requirements of the application and its users.

The AKG DMSTetrad digital wireless microphone system features an integrated 4-channel mixer, and an antenna front mount kit. HARMAN’s Soundcraft Vi3000 Ushers in the Next Generation of Digital Consoles

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – At InfoComm 2014, HARMAN’s Soundcraft is spotlighting its new Vi3000 ’all-in-one’ digital live sound console, offering a host of state-of-the-art features including the groundbreaking internal DSP Soundcraft® SpiderCore, a new industrial design, 96 channels to mix, onboard Dante compatibility as standard and much more in a very compact footprint.

“The Vi3000 joins the successful Vi1, Vi4 and Vi6 models and represents a massive leap forward in digital console design and functionality, while also keeping the best elements of its sister Vi consoles,” said Andy Brown, Senior Product Manager Vi Series. “We have a totally new internal core based on the highly successful Studer Vista 1 and a completely new, more efficiently designed surface running updated operating software. The Vi3000 utilizes the new internal DSP SpiderCore with Soundcraft’s Vi Version 4.8 operating software, offering the new 3D Vistonics user interface while adding a fourth 24-channel fader layer to improve access to the console’s 96 input channels. The surface operation and layout is similar to other Vi Series consoles, providing a familiar feel while offering expanded functionality. JBL engineers examined the radiation characteristics of the EON’s high- and low-frequency drivers at 36 different points employing JBL’s exclusive, state-of-the-art measurement techniques, then designed individual waveguides for both components that control the sound radiation at the high frequencies, the crossover point, and at the low frequencies.

Special fluting is designed into the structure that guides the frequencies through the full range of the system, resulting in consistent response throughout its entire coverage pattern. The quality and consistency between on-axis and off-axis response delivers uniform coverage and high intelligibility, which means the EON600′s smooth, transparent sound is the same for the entire audience. HARMAN’s JBL Professional AWC159 and AWC15LF Loudspeakers Offer World-Class, Weatherproof Sound

LAS VEGAS, Nevada –At InfoComm 2014, HARMAN’s JBL Professional is introducing the AWC159 and AWC15LF compact all-weather loudspeakers. Designed to deliver world-class sound quality and high sound level capability for outdoor applications, their wide-range, smooth frequency response and high sensitivity ensure high-fidelity music reproduction and superb projection of clear, intelligible speech.

The AWC159 is a compact, 15-inch, 2-way coaxial loudspeaker with compression-driver high frequency, wide 90 x 90-degree coverage and 500 Watts power handling. The AWC15LF, with 500 Watts power handling, is a 15-inch low-frequency loudspeaker designed for outdoor applications where additional low frequency is required. Both loudspeakers can be operated as direct low-impedance (8 ohms) or on a 70V or 100V distributed line via built-in 300 Watt low-saturation, multi-tap transformers.

Components feature Kevlar reinforced low-frequency drivers and high-frequency compression drivers with a unique patented design and high temperature polymer diaphragm for high output levels with low distortion. AWC components are highly weather-treated and a 3-layer grille with vapor-barrier backing minimizes direct rain contact with the system transducers. HARMAN’s JBL Professional Adds to Control® Contractor 60 Series with Control 60PS/T Pendant Subwoofer

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – At InfoComm 2014, HARMAN’s JBL Professional is introducing the latest addition to its Control® Contractor 60 Series pendant loudspeakers with the new Control 60PS/T pendant subwoofer. This high-impact pendant subwoofer features built-in passive crossover for up to four satellite loudspeakers.

Featuring 150 Watt power handling and low distortion, the long-excursion 8-inch low-frequency driver features butyl rubber surround for well-damped, tight sound quality and long-term reliability, along with a polypropylene-coated cone for humidity protection. The high-temperature, 2-inch voice coil and low-mass fiberglass coil former ensure good bass transient response and excellent stability under high power, high duty-cycle, working conditions.
The Control 60PS/T may be driven by itself or with other subwoofers on an amplifier channel, sending it either a signal that has been actively low-passed earlier in the signal chain, or a full-range signal utilizing the built-in passive 125 Hz low-pass filter. The included passive crossover also provides high-passed satellite outputs, in a full-range, wide-bandwidth, passively-crossed, mono subwoofer-satellite system.

A 100 Watt multi-tap, wide-bandwidth, low-saturation transformer allows the Control 60PS/T to be used on either a 70V/100V distributed loudspeaker system or as a direct low-impedance 8-ohm loudspeaker.

A loop out connector is provided on the subwoofer for looping the full-range input signal to other loudspeakers or to other subwoofer/satellite systems. Rubber boot covers for each locking connector protect the terminals and the optional MTC-PC60 full-top cover accessory adds additional terminal protection for when using outdoors.

Hitachi Expands Interactive Projector Lineup with Two New Models

Las Vegas, Nevada, June 18, 2014 – Hitachi America, Ltd., Digital Media Division, Business Solutions Group today introduced two new interactive projector models, the Hitachi CP-TW3003 and CP-TW2503.

These new innovative interactive models feature an ultra-short throw design and they integrate Hitachi’s powerful software to deliver a complete interactive experience on any flat surface. With a rich feature set that meets the specific interactive needs of K-12, higher education, and corporate users, the CP-TW3003 and CP-TW2503 are both easy to install and easy to calibrate. They provide vibrant image quality with cost-effective operation and produce large images in small spaces. New generation interactive features include multiple pen capability, auto-calibration, PC-less drawing, and multi-display interactive use. Additionally, a suite of advanced features normally found only on the higher end models includes High Dynamic Contrast Range (HDCR), 2 HDMI ports, and Hitachi’s original technology Accentualizer that allows the projected image to appear more real by enhancing sharpness, gloss and shade. Plus, Hitachi’s Intelligent Eco and Saver Modes with ImageCare combines optimal picture performance with energy-savings for a lower total cost of ownership.

The CP-TW3003 features 3,300 lumens of brightness, while the CP-TW2503 offers 2,700 lumens, both models offer three USB inputs for use with a USB memory stick, wireless adapter or mouse plus component, composite video, audio and mic A/V jacks. Both projectors have computer monitor and audio outputs. In addition, they have RS-232C and RJ-45 Ethernet ports. An optional wireless adapter lets users connect their computer to the projectors via a wireless network. The projectors’ PC-less presentation feature enables users to project images directly from a USB thumb drive, eliminating the need to connect a computer.
