Soundcraft Mixing Consoles Meet the Challenge of The Cinematic Orchestra’s Epic Performance at Royal Albert Hall

The Cinematic Orchestra performed a large-scale concert at London’s legendary Royal Albert Hall with the London Metropolitan Orchestra that required the use of Soundcraft Vi6 and Vi1 consoles at front of house and a Soundcraft Vi4 for the monitor mix.

The Cinematic Orchestra is a British jazz and electronic group whose music, as its name indicates, is expansive in scope, employing live electric and acoustic instruments, turntables, samples and electronic elements. The group has scored a number of films and released several albums.

Hitachi Appoints Debra Beckman As Western Regional Sales Manager

Hitachi America, Ltd., Digital Media Division, Business Solutions Group today announced the appointment of Debra Beckman as western regional sales manager. Beckman will be responsible for overseeing sales of Hitachi 3LCD projectors in the Western United States.

Debra Beckman has an extensive background in sales management. Previously, she worked as sales manager at Lumens Integration, where she was responsible for the company’s higher education document camera business. Famous Moscow Live Venue Switches To JBL VERTEC® Line Arrays

One of Moscow’s landmark live music venues, B1 Maximum, recently re-opened after a major refurbishment and change of identity to A2. A hallmark of the updated venue is a new live-performance sound system. Professional audio design and installation company, Clair Brothers Audio Systems, has installed a complete JBL VerTec line array system in New York’s famous Beacon Theatre. The installation marks the third audio retrofit of an MSG-owned venue by Clair Brothers, which has also installed JBL VerTec line arrays in New York’s Radio City Music Hall and the Chicago Theatre.

Hitachi America, Ltd., Digital Media Division, Business Solutions Group today announced the introduction of its CPX9 Portable Series LCD projector, ideal for use in classrooms, conference rooms, on the road or anywhere a lightweight, high-quality, high-value projector is needed.

Weighing less than five pounds and measuring just 12 x 8.7 x 3 inches, the CPX9 can project images up to 300 inches (diagonal measurement) with XGA resolution, 3,200 lumens brightness and 16.7 million colors. RTÉ Radio Adds Its 19th Studer OnAir 3000

When Ireland’s national broadcaster, RTÉ Radio upgraded its Studio 10 sports studio recently, it took the network’s tally of Studer OnAir 3000 digital consoles to 19. While 10 are located in the main RTE campus, one occupies an RTE studio in a nearby shopping centre, and the other eight are distributed over five regional studio centres.

The broadcaster’s relationship with Studer extends back many years to the A80 tape machines, which were in use in RTÉ Radio for many years, and over the past six years they have systematically upgraded all the main radio studios, replacing various analogue consoles with the OnAir 3000 series — Studio 10 being the last in line.

As part of its current restoration, the Moscow Conservatory has purchased a Studer Vista 9 digital console for recording, post-production and broadcast from its Great Hall, as well as a Soundcraft Vi1 digital console for multipurpose use, including at front of house when required.

The Moscow Conservatory was founded in 1866 by famous Russian musician Nikolai Rubinstein. It has established itself as one of the world’s most renowned institutions of musical education. In 1940, it was named after the great Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
