NSCA Education Foundation Defines Future

Frericks Re-Elected President, Nix Joins Board

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA, August 25, 2009 — The NSCA Education Foundation has re-elected Tom Frericks, president of Copp Systems Integrator, as the president of the NSCA Education Foundation Board of Directors. The board also elected Daniel Nix, vice president of sales– Americas, Bosch Security Systems, Inc., Communications Systems Division, to serve as a director.

Since 1999, the NSCA Education Foundation has created educational opportunities to grow the commercial electronic systems industry. By providing financial assistance through scholarships, student memberships and the creation of an endowment for future scholarship opportunities, the Foundation assists in the development of an industry career path for students.

The Foundation will be reviewing additional opportunities to advance the industry and promote educational programs such as ESPA and NSCA’s technician training and accompanying apprenticeship program to students and professionals looking to expand their career opportunities.

NSCA Expands List of Approved Courses for Recertification

Kramer Electronics, Termark Technical Institute Join Partner Provider Program

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA, August 19, 2009 – Kramer Electronics and Termark Technical Institute were recently approved as NSCA Partner Providers, a program that awards NSCA Learning Units (LUs) to pre-approved manufacturer training courses for industry members looking to obtain the NSCA Certificate of Completion or to renew the EST-L2 certification. These new partners increase the number of industry courses that qualify for LUs to nearly 90, in addition to NSCA courses online and regionally throughout the year.

NSCA encourages organizations committed to the development and growth of the commercial electronic systems industry to apply for the program, which designates LUs to high-quality training programs relevant to the industry. The program helps connect partners to industry professionals, increase attendance in their education courses and receive free promotion of their education programs through NSCA.

Two Students Receive Bosch Scholarship for Industry Education

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA, July 13, 2009 — John Hayes and Jesse Ashby have been named the recipients of the 2009 Robert Bosch Scholarships through the NSCA Education Foundation. These $2,500 scholarships are granted to students pursuing careers in the electronic systems industry or a related field.

Hayes attends Columbia College Chicago and is working toward a bachelor’s degree in Audio Arts and Acoustics. He gained valuable, hands-on experience installing sound systems into a variety of commercial settings, and is anxious to contribute to the sound installation industry and work with new technologies and gadgets that are constantly improving and changing the industry. more
