Clearwing Productions replaces auditorium’s PA with new KIVA-KILO system

GREENDALE, Wisconsin — Greendale High School (GHS), located less than 10 miles southwest of downtown Milwaukee, WI, recently capped off renovations to its Reiman Family Arts Wing with the installation of an L-ACOUSTICS KIVA line source system. Designed and installed by Clearwing Productions, the new loudspeaker and amplifier package is now delivering high-fidelity sound reinforcement for the school’s 876-seat Henry Ross Auditorium. more

L-ACOUSTICS US Sets Training Dates for KARA, KUDO and SOUNDVISION

OXNARD, California — L-ACOUSTICS US is pleased to announce its first two product training sessions for 2012.

The first three-day training is set for February 20 to 22 in Red Hook, NY and will specifically focus on L-ACOUSTICS’ new KARA modular line source system and SOUNDVISION version 1.9.

The second session, hosted in Oxnard, CA exactly one month later from March 20 to 22, will cover the large-format KUDO line source system and SOUNDVISION. more

GUADALAJARA, Jalisco, Mexico — In the early morning hours of December 8th, 2011, L-ACOUSTICS systems provider Procolor of Guadalajara, Mexico had an entire 53-foot semi truck and trailer of equipment stolen at the conclusion of a Britney Spears concert in Mexico City.

The missing trailer contained 24 L-ACOUSTICS K1 and 18 V-DOSC line source elements, 12 K1-SB low-frequency extension enclosures and 48 SB-218 subwoofers, among other items. Serial numbers are available upon request. more

PCS Rumbles Phooson and Shakes Christmas Pudding with L-ACOUSTICS

PHOENIX, Arizona — David Stern, president of Precise Corporate Staging (PCS), reports that December has been a banner month for his company with a dozen different productions on its event calendar, all of which utilized L-ACOUSTICS loudspeaker systems.

The month kicked off with a bang as PCS shook Phoenix’s U.S. Airways Center on December 2 for Phooson 2011, an annual pop music festival hosted by KRQ/KISS FM’s Johnjay & Rich and featuring Selena Gomez, Flo Rida, OneRepublic and Gym Class Heroes, among other acts. PCS supplied a concert sound system for the event comprised of 30 V-DOSC, 30 dV-DOSC and 12 SB28 subs. Eight 115XT HiQ coaxial wedges provided stage monitoring, while two ARCS paired with two SB series subs served as sidefills. more

Sound On Stage Takes Delivery of First ARCS II in North America

HAYWARD, California — Bay Area-based Sound On Stage (SOS) recently gained the distinction of being the first company in North America to receive a shipment of L-ACOUSTICS’ new ARCS II constant curvature WST line source enclosures, an update to the popular ARCS system introduced in 1995.

Taking delivery of four ARCS II in early December, SOS had the new enclosures in its shop for barely a day before sending them into duty on a series of events by the San Francisco Symphony at Davies Symphony Hall. The ARCS II served as orchestra sidefills complementing a dV-DOSC/dV-SUB house system for both the symphony’s annual “Colors of Christmas” concerts and huge 100th anniversary opening night gala performance. more

Sound Kingdom Changes Name to Event Systems and Adds L-ACOUSTICS

WICHITA, Kansas — On the cusp of celebrating its tenth year of business in the production services market, Wichita-based Sound Kingdom, Inc. has now changed its name to Event Systems, Inc. and expanded its L-ACOUSTICS inventory with the purchase of six ARCS line source systems, four 12XT coaxials, and an additional LA8 amplified controller.

The new gear complements an existing equipment roster that includes 18 KIVA and six KILO elements — collectively driven by a single LA-RAK — plus six 115XT HiQ coaxial stage wedges and two tiny 108P self-powered enclosures. more

L-ACOUSTICS K1 Used To Inaugurate New Kiev UEFA Stadium

KIEV, Ukraine — Fotis Sound, L-ACOUSTICS’ Polish rental network agent, has provided an L-ACOUSTICS K1 WST line source system for the opening of the Olympic Stadium in Kiev in preparation for the UEFA Euro 2012 Football Championship.

The opening ceremony, under the guidance of director Alexey Batkovsky, was based on Ukrainian history, with more than 2,000 volunteers and dancers involved in the larger performances. At the concert’s finale, Shakira appeared on stage to a backdrop of spectacular fireworks before an audience of 50,000, including Ukrainian president Victor Janukovich. more
