Early V-DOSC adopter joins K1/KUDO Pilot Program seeking to grow business to next level

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — Based in Milwaukee with a satellite operation in Phoenix, Clearwing Productions is celebrating its 25th anniversary this spring with a significant new investment for its customers: a full L-ACOUSTICS K1 large-format line source array loudspeaker system.

Looking back on a quarter century of premier live event production, Clearwing is also recognized for its decade-long partnership with L-ACOUSTICS, having been one of the first North American companies to adopt the V-DOSC system. It is highly fitting, then, that Clearwing has now become one of the first US companies to join L-ACOUSTICS’ K1/KUDO Pilot Program. more

L-ACOUSTICS 108P coaxials in Dubrovnik Airport’s new Terminal B

DUBROVNIK, Croatia — L-ACOUSTICS’ Croatian distributor, Dicroic, has installed a system of 108P coaxial enclosures into the new Terminal B at Dubrovnik Airport, opened in late May by Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor.

Two rows of eight 108P active coaxials have been installed; the first on the ground floor and the second below the roof on the third floor. Built-in microphones on each of the eight gates on the ground floor can notify travelers in any part of the terminal, using any combination of the 108Ps, from one localized speaker to the entire terminal. more

ANTALYA, Turkey — L-ACOUSTICS’ Turkish distributor, Elit Light&Sound Technologies, recently assisted the Christian & Missionary Alliance of Canada with its biannual Assembly in Antalya, Turkey, providing the requisite PA system and manpower.

Usually held in Canada, the organization’s proposal to hold it in Turkey posed a unique situation for Scott Murley and Mark Lasebnik, technical director and FOH engineer, respectively, who have been supporting the C&MA Assembly for more than 16 years. more

JAKARTA, Indonesia — L-ACOUSTICS’ Indonesian representative, Tri Tunggal Abadi, has installed a complete new sound reinforcement system into the Nafiri Convention Hall in Jakarta. The system consists of a LCR hang of six KIVA ultra-compact line source cabinets and two KILO low frequency extensions each, plus four SB28 subs. LA4 and LA8 amplified controllers power the system. more

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Hot on the heels of his Scandinavian tour, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli has embarked on dates throughout Asia, drawing on L-ACOUSTICS’ strong Rental Network in the region to provide a system in every location.

Appearances in Tokyo, Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore saw local agents Kyoritz, Seoul Sound, MSI Hong Kong and CSP Productions respectively supplying V-DOSC/dV-DOSC systems. However, when the tour arrived in Taiwan, local rental company Winly provided Bocelli’s sound designer Andrea Taglia with an extensive KUDO large format line source system for the Taipei Arena. more

ESCONDIDO, California — Southern California-based Sound Image, Inc., a full-service sound reinforcement provider for four decades, has now joined the short list of North American L-ACOUSTICS K1/KUDO Pilot Program companies.

At the request of Robert Scovill, Tom Petty’s longtime FOH engineer, Sound Image took delivery of L-ACOUSTICS’ K Standard package comprised of 48 K1 and 36 KUDO enclosures, 24 K1-SB and 24 SB28 subs, plus accompanying LA-RAK amplified controller racks. The system is currently in pre-production rehearsals for Petty’s upcoming MOJO Tour, which kicks off on June 1 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver and treks across the US and Canada through early October. more

MARCOUSSIS, France — L-ACOUSTICS is pleased to announce the launch of its KARA/SB18 Pilot Program, having unveiled the concept at Prolight + Sound 2010 in Frankfurt.

The KARA/SB18 Pilot Program will primarily involve existing members of the L-ACOUSTICS Rental Network — in particular, dV-DOSC owners interested in advanced field testing of the new system for corporate and special events through to concert applications.

The initial companies taking part in the scheme are UK-based rental companies SFL and Plus 4 Audio, French events specialist Impact Evenement, Wilhelm & Willhalm from Germany, and global services provider PRG, all of which are located near L-ACOUSTICS headquarters and offices to facilitate close collaboration with the R&D team and technical support. Emphasis will be put on preset validation, system configuration and design, rigging, and general system set-up and operation. more

DALLAS, Texas — Dallas-based Onstage Systems is one of the latest touring production companies to embrace L-ACOUSTICS’ K Standard platform by purchasing 16 new LA-RAK touring racks, each loaded with three LA8 amplified controllers.

All 16 racks recently went out on the first leg of country music superstar George Strait’s 2010 Tour, which was performed in-the-round at 20 arenas and domes across North America. The LA-RAKs delivered power, processing and control for 72 V-DOSC and 48 dV-DOSC enclosures — split into eight arrays flown around the center stage — in addition to 16 SB Series subs and eight more dV-DOSC for front-fill. more

CCI Solutions updates church PA system with L-ACOUSTICS loudspeakers and amplified controllers

MONTEREY, California — CCI Solutions of Olympia, WA, recently completed the first phase of a full audio system retrofit at Shoreline Community Church, located in Monterey, CA. The primary accomplishment of this phase was the installation of an all-L-ACOUSTICS loudspeaker and amplified controller package. more

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia — One of Russia’s largest rental companies, St. Petersburg-based Euroshow, has become the latest member of the L-ACOUSTICS K1/KUDO Pilot Program.

The company, which became an L-ACOUSTICS rental agent last year with the purchase of a KUDO large format line source system, has taken delivery of 48 K1 large format line source cabinets, 24 K1-SB subwoofers, an additional 36 KUDO cabinets and 32 SB28 subwoofers, plus 23 LA-RAK touring racks fitted with LA8 amplified controllers to drive the system. more
