Covenant Church Life Centre Gets Amped on L-ACOUSTICS

CARROLLTON, Texas — With over 20,000 members spread out between five campuses in northeastern Texas, Covenant Church is a vibrant and growing house of worship network. To help accommodate its growth, the church recently converted a K-12 school at its flagship location in Carrollton into a family-centric new facility known as the Life Centre, which is now home to an L-ACOUSTICS KIVA-KILO loudspeaker system.

The new system went into the Life Centre’s AMP room, a former gymnasium transformed into a modern amphitheatre that hosts children’s church services, youth programs, college and career fellowship events, and many other functions. more

Hosting a full schedule of more than 200 shows a year — ranging from international musical acts to touring Broadway productions to guest speakers and comedians — the 3,200-seat art deco-style room had grown in need of a sound system that could better accommodate the diversity and increasing technological demands of its events. more

L-ACOUSTICS K1/KARA System Installed at Graha Bethany Nginden Church, Indonesia

L-ACOUSTICS K1 installation in Indonesia’s Graha Bethany Nginden Church

SURABAYA, Indonesia — L-ACOUSTICS’ distributor in South East Asia, Sennheiser Electronic Asia, together with Indonesian partner Tri Tunggal Abadi have installed the first L-ACOUSTICS K1 system into a church in the region. The K1/KARA WST line source system has been installed into the Evangelist Graha Bethany Nginden Church located in Surabaya, along with products from almost all of L-ACOUSTICS’ ranges.

Headed up by Pastor Abraham Alex Tanuseputra, this is one of Indonesia’s largest churches, able to accommodate gatherings of 30,000 in one sitting. Tri Tunggal Abadi’s Andre Bonang has carried out several previous installations for the Bethany Church in Indonesia, including the Bethany Manyar. more

Yonsei Central Baptist Church’s huge Jerusalem sanctuary can accommodate 13,000 worshippers

SEOUL — South Korea’s Yonsei Central Baptist Church, distinguished as the first L-ACOUSTICS V-DOSC church installation in Asia, has now also become the first to install a K1 WST line source system.

Located in Seoul, the church is one of Asia’s most impressive houses of worship. The entire site occupies a total area of over 350,000 square feet and over 120 rooms, and is equipped with approximately 200 L-ACOUSTICS enclosures. The K1 system has been installed into the main Jerusalem sanctuary, a 13,000-seat, single-balcony hall occupying three floors and completely free of support pillars and other obstructions, allowing worshippers a clear view of the service. more

CHICAGO — Since its debut in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show has grown over the past 11 decades into North America’s largest automobile exhibition. As to be expected, many of the major car manufacturers were present at McCormick Place this February to show off their latest concepts and models, including Chrysler Group’s Dodge and RAM brands, which collectively unveiled new versions of the Charger, Durango and 1500/3500 trucks among other vehicles.

To maximize the impact of its February 9 press event, Chrysler Group again called upon Production Resource Group (PRG) to design, install and operate all technical production elements. According to PRG Chicago National Account Executive Melissa Powers, this included a full complement of L-ACOUSTICS loudspeakers and amplified controllers deployed by A1 Brian Bavido, A2 Jessica Kovach and PRG Orlando Project Manager and Staff Engineer Mark Boettcher. more

CHICAGO — Chicago State University (CSU), located on the city’s south side, recently hired local concert sound provider and systems integrator Sound Of Authority to install an L-ACOUSTICS KUDO loudspeaker system into its Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center, a 5,500-seat multipurpose arena that hosts CSU Cougars basketball games, concerts, conferences and other events. more

L-ACOUSTICS US Hosts KUDO and SOUNDVISION Training Sessions

OXNARD, California — L-ACOUSTICS US announces that it will be hosting three days of KUDO and SOUNDVISION training in its Oxnard, California office from March 15 to 17.

Primarily designed for technicians, mix engineers and sound designers referred by L-ACOUSTICS Rental Network agents and clients, the first two days of training will offer a blend of theoretical knowledge and field procedures focusing on operating and optimizing KUDO in a safe and controlled environment. A third day, which can be attended separately or in conjunction with the KUDO training, will be dedicated to covering the manufacturer’s SOUNDVISION 3D acoustical modeling software. Upon completion of these seminars, attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. more

New AMX Control Module Available for L-ACOUSTICS Amplified Controllers

OXNARD, California – L-ACOUSTICS has teamed up with control and automation specialist AMX to provide external control of the LA4 and LA8 amplified controllers from an AMX touch screen panel.

“The new AMX module provides L-ACOUSTICS Systems Integrators with an interface control solution to take full advantage of the flexibility and performance of our LA amplified controllers in fixed install applications, such as houses of worship, convention centers and sports facilities,” says Cedric Montrezor, head of installation support, L-ACOUSTICS. more

OXNARD, California — Deepening its dedication to L-ACOUSTICS’ K Standard, Oxnard, California-based Rat Sound Systems, Inc. has now taken delivery of 18 small-format KARA line source elements.

“As we move further into the new technologies and capabilities offered by our L-ACOUSTICS’ LA8-powered K1 system, we’ve chosen to add the latest compact line array to complement it,” says Jon Monson, Rat Sound’s head of touring. “We plan to use KARA in two distinct ways: in an under-hang configuration for K1, and as a complete standalone system for smaller venues and shows.” more
