VHC Purchases L-ACOUSTICS KIVA System For Corporate Productions

VHC’s new KIVA-KILO towers packed and ready to travel

MINNEAPOLIS — Visual Horizon Communications (VHC), Inc. of Minneapolis reports that it took delivery of 24 KIVA and eight KILO loudspeaker enclosures, plus four LA4 amplified controllers, from L-ACOUSTICS earlier this year.

According to Paul Smith, head of VHC’s audio department, half of the enclosures now permanently reside in a pair of custom portable towers designed to simplify corporate event productions, while the other 12 KIVA and four KILO are available for traditional rigging-point use. more

Guangzhou Opera House Chooses L-ACOUSTICS Systems

GUANGZHOU, China — Located in the new city of Pearl River, the Guangzhou Opera House has become one of China’s three biggest theatres. Constructed from 12,000 tons of steel on a 750,000-square-foot site, the Opera House includes an 1800-seat theatre as well as a smaller 400-seat venue. Both have been equipped with L-ACOUSTICS sound reinforcement systems supplied by Chinese distributor Rightway Audio Consultants and installed by contractor Leifull Light and Sound Enterprises. more

St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Blessed With New L-ACOUSTICS KIVA System

THIBODAUX, Louisiana — Originally dedicated in 1923, St. Joseph Co-Cathedral of Thibodaux, Louisiana is a magnificently preserved 650-seat house of worship built in the Renaissance Romanesque style. With the recent installation of an unobtrusive L-ACOUSTICS KIVA and XT loudspeaker system, the church’s sound is now every bit on par with its beauty.

Tampa-based AVI-SPL, a leading provider of audio-video communications solutions, was brought in to provide the system integration, which was based on a SOUNDVISION model created by L-ACOUSTICS’ Dan Palmer. more

Sa-rang Community Church Upgrades with KUDO

LOS ANGELES — Artesia, California-based UBI-TECH, a design-build contracting firm serving the house of worship market, reports that it installed an L-ACOUSTICS KUDO system at Sa-rang Community Church in Anaheim earlier this year.

With its 80-member choir, 25-piece orchestra and two full praise teams for Korean and English services, it is obvious that Orange County’s largest Korean megachurch places a significant emphasis on its music ministry. So when the time came to update its aging PA setup, Sa-rang’s technical crew spent nearly four months researching what would be the best retrofit option for its 1,500-seat sanctuary. more

L-ACOUSTICS KUDO Installed in Historic Helsinki Venue

HELSINKI, Finland — L-ACOUSTICS’ Finnish distributor, Starlike, has supplied a new sound reinforcement system to the Old Student House, a multipurpose hall in the center of Helsinki dating back to 1870.

The installation features five KUDO line source cabinets and an SB28 sub bass unit per side, with a 12XT coaxial providing center fill, driven by five LA8 amplified controllers. more

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — Based in Milwaukee with a satellite operation in Phoenix, Clearwing Productions is celebrating its 25th anniversary this spring with a significant new investment for its customers: a full L-ACOUSTICS K1 large-format line source array loudspeaker system.

Looking back on a quarter century of premier live event production, Clearwing is also recognized for its decade-long partnership with L-ACOUSTICS, having been one of the first North American companies to adopt the V-DOSC system. Dubrovnik Airport’s Terminal B Opens With L-ACOUSTICS P Series System

L-ACOUSTICS 108P coaxials in Dubrovnik Airport’s new Terminal B

DUBROVNIK, Croatia — L-ACOUSTICS’ Croatian distributor, Dicroic, has installed a system of 108P coaxial enclosures into the new Terminal B at Dubrovnik Airport, opened in late May by Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor.

Two rows of eight 108P active coaxials have been installed; the first on the ground floor and the second below the roof on the third floor. Built-in microphones on each of the eight gates on the ground floor can notify travelers in any part of the terminal, using any combination of the 108Ps, from one localized speaker to the entire terminal. more

Global Effort as L-ACOUSTICS and Bros Technic Join Forces with Canada’s Christian & Missionary Alliance

ANTALYA, Turkey — L-ACOUSTICS’ Turkish distributor, Elit Light&Sound Technologies, recently assisted the Christian & Missionary Alliance of Canada with its biannual Assembly in Antalya, Turkey, providing the requisite PA system and manpower.

Usually held in Canada, the organization’s proposal to hold it in Turkey posed a unique situation for Scott Murley and Mark Lasebnik, technical director and FOH engineer, respectively, who have been supporting the C&MA Assembly for more than 16 years. more

L-ACOUSTICS Installs Nafiri Convention Hall

JAKARTA, Indonesia — L-ACOUSTICS’ Indonesian representative, Tri Tunggal Abadi, has installed a complete new sound reinforcement system into the Nafiri Convention Hall in Jakarta. The system consists of a LCR hang of six KIVA ultra-compact line source cabinets and two KILO low frequency extensions each, plus four SB28 subs. LA4 and LA8 amplified controllers power the system. more
