Visual Formula Adds Up L-ACOUSTICS

visual_formula_b-live_rig.jpgMIAMI – April 2009 — Visual Formula, LLC of Miami reports that it has now expanded its inventory of L-ACOUSTICS loudspeakers to 24 KUDO elements, 18 SB28 subs and 18 LA8 amplified controllers, augmented by eight 112P powered enclosures and ten 115XT HiQ wedges.

The company purchased its initial quantity of KUDO, SB28 and LA8 for its live production division nearly a year ago, at which point the rig was immediately deployed on a number of large-scale events, including a BBC Radio One live broadcast from South Beach for the Winter Music Conference and the kickoff of the global BACARDI B-LIVE tour at Bayfront Park Amphitheater. more

L-ACOUSTICS KIVA Installed Into Vantaa Martinus Concert Hall

vantaa_martinus.jpgVANTAA, Finland — L-ACOUSTICS’ Finnish distributor, Starlike Oy, has installed a KIVA/KILO system into the Vantaa Martinus Concert Hall, a 1,000-seat concert hall constructed in 1986.

The hall is home to the Vantaa Pops Orchestra, a 40-70 piece symphonic orchestra specializing in light entertainment, rather than classical music, and including ‘pop’ elements such as guitar, keyboards and drums. According to sound designer Sepi Myllyrinne, responsible for the orchestra’s sound, it was widely perceived that the existing system at Vantaa needed updating as audio quality is of paramount importance to the orchestra. Together with Martinus’ sound designer Esa Lindroos and the rest of the audio team, Myllyrinne evaluated many systems before concluding that the KIVA system was the clear winner in terms of audio quality, coherence, headroom, coverage and flexibility. “Even after using the system for a while now I’m still impressed with its sound quality every time,” he says. more

The 468-seat theater now benefits from twin horizontal arrays each comprised of two ARCS enclosures flown above the left and right sides of the stage accompanied by a single dV-SUB enclosure per side down on the deck. L-ACOUSTICS LA Series amplifiers power each of the loudspeakers. more
