Cleveland’s popular JazzFest venue installs KARA, ARCS II and SB18 rig

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Known to Cleveland locals simply as “Tri-C”, Cuyahoga Community College is the oldest and largest community college in Ohio. But to jazz aficionados, the school is more than simply an institution dedicated to higher learning — it’s the host site of the renowned Tri-C JazzFest, which recently celebrated its 33rd anniversary.

One of the primary venues for the 10-day annual event is the 800-seat Tri-C Metro Auditorium, an intimate hall originally designed and built in 1971 for the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. With minimal fixed PA in the room, the school would typically rent a sound reinforcement system for JazzFest each year — usually an L-ACOUSTICS dV-DOSC/ARCS package from Woodsy’s Music in Kent. But this year the college finally realized its goal of installing an L-ACOUSTICS system of its own. more

Gearhouse Invests in More L-ACOUSTICS Stock

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — South Africa’s largest rental company, Gearhouse South Africa, has recently reinvested in more L-ACOUSTICS components to complete its existing inventory of KUDO, V-DOSC, dV-DOSC and ARCS. The new equipment comprises of 48 KARA, 12 ARCSII and 12 KUDO line source cabinets, eight SB28 and 24 SB18 subwoofers, and 22 LA-RAK touring racks installed with LA8 amplified controllers.

South Africa is increasingly becoming a regular fixture on the international touring circuit. Combined with an increase in the domestic market, Gearhouse felt the extra investment in L-ACOUSTICS was necessary to service the largest of these events. The company also wanted to update its amplifier platform with the LA-RAK and LA8 platform. more

Run by leading Istanbul venue owners together with Metehan Corumluoglu, aka DJ Style-ist, Skandal! draws heavily on the twin late-’70s cultures of new wave and disco, bringing a new vibe to the Istanbul club scene. A system of seven L-ACOUSTICS 8XTi coaxial speakers from L-ACOUSTICS’ Architectural Series for installers with two 108P coaxials and two SB18i fixed installation subwoofers, driven by two LA4 amplifiers, has been installed into the venue. more
