BAD KISSINGEN, Germany — German L-ACOUSTICS certified provider Soundhouse has installed a KIVA WST modular line source system into the Max Littmann Saal concert hall in Bad Kissingen.

The historic concert hall, built in 1913 and paneled in cherry wood inlaid with ebony, can accommodate 1,160 people and specializes in classical music and spoken word performances through to blues and rock music. When the time came to upgrade its sound system, the major requirements were low weight, wide and controlled coverage and low visual impact. more

QUEBEC CITY — Despite its modest beginnings in 1968, the annual Quebec City Summer Festival (Festival d’ete de Quebec) is now recognized as Canada’s largest outdoor performance event. Attracting more than 1.5 million people over its 11-day span each July, this year’s production involved nearly 300 musical performances spread out across three outdoor stages and seven indoor halls.

The primary performance venue for the festival is the Bell Stage, which, from July 7 through 17, hosted everyone from Ben Harper, Elton John and John Fogerty to Simple Plan, Avenged Sevenfold and Metallica, among many others. more

Miami-based production company adds more L-ACOUSTICS systems to its equation

MIAMI — Two years after first investing in an L-ACOUSTICS KIVA system comprised of a dozen KIVA and four KILO enclosures, Audio Formula of Miami has now doubled its inventory of the ultra-compact array and low-frequency extension elements.

This purchase was accompanied by the addition of four more KUDO line source enclosures, four SB18 and four SB28 subs, six coaxial 115XT HiQ wedges and two LA-RAK touring racks. At the same time, Audio Formula upgraded all of its LA8 amplified controllers with new AES I/O cards. The L-ACOUSTICS gear is being shared between the company’s Miami, Florida and Bogotá, Columbia locations. more

Allied Audio provides LA8-powered KUDO and SB28 rental package for new outdoor venue’s summer concert season

PRIOR LAKE, Minnesota — The Twin Cities’ own Mystic Lake Casino Hotel entered the outdoor concert market this season with a new 8,357-seat amphitheater that is already being praised by the local press for its “incredible sound.” Much of the credit, however, goes to South Saint Paul-based Allied Productions & Sales, which is supplying a full L-ACOUSTICS loudspeaker and amplifier package for Mystic Amphitheater’s inaugural summer concert season. more

LONDON — Surrey-based Delta Sound deployed an L-ACOUSTICS KUDO loudspeaker system for a one-day VIP event during the 2011 UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Champions League final at Wembley Stadium in London. The soccer-themed event was hosted by Wembley’s corporate hospitality sector, Club Wembley, on behalf of UEFA.

Wembley Arena was converted into a large VIP suite for the event, with the main arena blacked out with backdrops covering the seating area and a stage along one side of the venue. This configuration effectively turned the room sideways and could accommodate up to 4,500 guests. The space was divided into areas celebrating the different ages of soccer. Projection screens gave flashbacks to important matches and interviews, while the main stage hosted presenters, VIP speakers and live entertainment. more

The systems were purchased, in part, to accommodate the busy summer festival schedule of PCS’ new Entertainment Division, which this year deploys systems and staging for Country USA and Rock USA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and the legendary week-long Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, South Dakota. more
