YCD to Launch New Digital Signage Player for In-Store Marketing at ISE Europe

New York, February 3, 2014 – YCD Multimedia, a leading global provider of smart digital signage solutions, today announced that it will launch a new player aimed at in-store marketing at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), to be held February 4-6, 2014 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. YCD|LivePlayer allows retailers to deploy in-store digital signage by leveraging the latest Android-based players and tablets and smart displays.

YCD|LivePlayer 1.0 will be available in two editions – an Android application available on the Google Play store, and as a downloadable player for Samsung Displays with SMART Signage Platform (SSP), the latter operating on the display’s built-in SSP engine without the need for any player hardware.

Both editions are managed by YCD|RAMP – YCD’s browser-based Retail Advertising and Merchandising Platform – which uses smart templates to create effective call-for-action content with unsurpassed simplicity, and in a rapid time-to-market. With Point of Sale (POS) integration, retailers can have their displays (such as menu boards) reflect real-time inventory changes and display complementary items during checkout to help cashiers upsell high-margin products.

YCD|LivePlayer channels managed by YCD|RAMP offer many features normally associated with higher-cost products, such as real-time status and player health monitoring, remote control, real-time remote screen snapshots, playback information, and more.

“YCD|LivePlayer plays an extremely important role for YCD, reflecting our focus on retail verticals. It allows our customers to promote products and provide shoppers with targeted information, assisting retail processes such as traffic, wayfinding and igniting the purchase process, buying decision assistance, seller assistance, and strengthening brand loyalty,” said Eran Sharon, VP of Product Management, YCD Multimedia. “With Samsung’s excellent SSP, which offers player-less digital signage, and the ever-increasing availability of commercial grade Android devices, users can choose from a variety of devices for a true BYOD (“Bring Your Own Device”) approach. This release is just the beginning of what will surely be a game changer for us, our partners, and their users.”

YCD Multimedia to Introduce Latest Version of its Retail Advertising and Merchandising Platform at ISE Europe, Opening New Horizons for Retailers

New York, January 29, 2014 – YCD Multimedia, a global provider of smart digital signage solutions, today announced that it will introduce the new version of YCD|RAMP (the company’s proprietary Retail Advertising and Merchandising Platform) at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), to be held February 4-6, 2014 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. YCD|RAMP addresses the needs of retailers and marketers to create and display effective in-store digital signage campaigns in a fast, cost-effective way while ensuring 100% compliance with brand guidelines.

The new release, version 3.2, brings a host of new features that further simplify creation and displaying of content. At the top of the list is support for HTML5 templates and a new player. With HTML5 support, users have more options to source or create smart templates – the basis of YCD|RAMP content. Furthermore, passive or interactive templates can now be used with a wide array of HTML5-capable displays such as Android devices and Select Smart Displays. A seamless workflow for importing Google Web Designer projects directly into YCD|RAMP lets users import templates created in the free tool from Google. Upon import, YCD|RAMP will automatically ‘recognize’ the required parameters in the template.

Starting with this version, YCD|RAMP will be shipped preconfigured with user-editable templates optimized for retailer process improvement, including “attract” screens, digital menu boards, seller assistance for impulse buy, shopper assistance, and brand loyalty displays. Additional templates can be created using Flash or HTML5, and RAMP can also import and automatically recognize HTML5 projects created in Google Web Designer – a free advertising-focused HTML5 content creation tool.

On the deployment and management side, the YCD|RAMP now offers the flexibility of on-premise (standalone) or cloud-based deployment. Both editions also include a host of new player management and monitoring features.

“YCD|RAMP remains a fresh and unique approach to retail digital signage,” said Eran Sharon, VP of Product Management, YCD Multimedia. “And with the new version’s HTML5 support, multilayer content and bundled templates, we hope to simplify and accelerate the creation of effective product promotions and campaigns even more.”

YCD Multimedia Announces Next Generation of Its Flagship Digital Signage Platform

New York, January 22, 2014 – YCD Multimedia, a global provider of smart digital signage solutions, today announced that it will launch C-nario|Suite 3.7 at ISE (Integrated Systems Europe, February 4-6, 2014 at the RAI in Amsterdam, The Netherlands).

C-nario|Suite (formerly C-nario Messenger) is YCD’s premium digital signage display, distribution and management software platform that combines studio quality authoring of rich dynamic and interactive content, rules-based playback scheduling and distribution, and better-than-broadcast quality playback in any canvas size and resolution. This latest version brings major upgrades in functionality, usability, and performance, further building upon the platform’s leading position in high quality multi-display playback.

“We are extremely excited with the new version and hope our global user base would too” said Eran Sharon, VP of Product Management, YCD Multimedia. “With clients that include the world’s leading luxury brands and fortune 500 companies, we ensured our new features meet and exceed their needs and expectations – in capabilities, image quality, and performance. For example – users have repeatedly requested HTML5 content support. With version 3.7, we believe we have one of the most capable HTML5 implementations in a digital signage product. Users can not only deploy pixel-perfect HTML5 content from the smallest tablet to the largest multi-display installation; they can fully exploit our entire framework to enable their HTML5 applications – from sequences and play logic, to metadata, real time monitoring, and control.”

HTML5 opens up exceptional opportunities for powerful visualization and interactivity. The HTML5 object offers GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) accelerated playback and pixel-perfect rendering across any number of displays (“multi-display”) or players (“multi-CPU”). Multi-touch support, built-in authentication for displaying secure content, and seamless import of Google Web Designer content round up this important feature.

C-nario|Suite 3.7 also brings Windows 8.1 support, an all-new media rendering engine with high quality H.264 content, multi-megapixel images, and native 4K support.

Starting with version 3.7, C-nario players can be used in “screen saver mode.” The moment an interactive input (such a mouse click or touch) is detected, playback is immediately interrupted, giving access to the desktop or any application (such as an interactive kiosk, website etc.). Playback is resumed after a predefined idle period.

C-nario|Suite’s multistream video over IP object now adds multi-channel video and audio streams. A “redundant stream” option now automatically falls back to up to four (4) backup streams should the primary one be disrupted, ensuring reliable narrowcasting on large, critical networks.

Rounding up the new version is the suite’s updated Transportation Board, which displays flight, train and bus schedules in real time from local or hosted data on any size video wall, at pixel perfect resolution. Building upon the previous version’s robust display capabilities, the new version of the Transportation Board (version 2.0) adds tools for fully customizing the look and feel of the board with animations, video and images plus stylized text and multi-lingual support.

Silver Jeans Co. Enhances Shopping Experience with YCD Technology and ScreenPlay Content Services

New York, November 14, 2013 – YCD Multimedia, a leading global provider of smart digital signage solutions, today announced that Silver Jeans Co.™, a producer of high quality and well-fitting jeans in the mid luxury denim market, has installed YCD’s content management system (YCD|CMS) as the engine behind a new in-store concept. The new concept uses music and video wall technology to build customer loyalty within a multi-sensory environment that captures attention and shares the Silver Jeans’ story. The concept store at The Woodlands Mall in Woodlands, Texas, is the first of several stores marking Silver Jeans’ transition to exclusive brick-and-mortar retail. All content management strategy and services are planned and controlled by ScreenPlay Entertainment.

The 1,536 square foot “loft” concept store highlights the latest collection from Silver Jeans Co.™ and offers consumers a personalized approach to a full range of the company’s apparel. The highly stylized store is designed to give a feeling of being timeless and comfortable, just like Silver Jeans Co.™ products. The “loft” concept offers a central sitting area that faces a media wall, as the store’s centerpiece, a design layout that will be part of the store architecture at Silver Jeans’ new retail locations.

YCD and ScreenPlay partnered to provide the sight and sound for this experience. The audio-visual concept needed to be designed carefully to complement the brand’s classic, yet cutting edge feel. To provide the media, ScreenPlay crafted a custom program that encompasses music videos, as well as the store’s branded media pieces. The goal was to create an audio visual experience that would give both staff and customers an opportunity to hear music with a “you heard it here first” feel. The challenge was to meld breaking indie rock with timeless classics to create a musical fusion indicative of the Silver Jeans brand.

“Music has been an integral part of denim culture and our show celebrates that relationship our way,” said Darren James, Senior Director of Retail Operations, Silver Jeans Co. “The decision was all about Brand and we believe the indie music scene celebrates our ‘Independent and Free’ brand value. The artistic nature of the video content celebrates the expression of one’s ‘true self’. ScreenPlay fundamentally understood the sound of our brand on the first pass.”

“When programming music videos, it’s not as simple as choosing a song,” said Erik Chillman, Director of Programming at ScreenPlay Entertainment. “You need to select assets that have the same visual feel as the brand itself. Having the largest indie music video catalog available gave us flexibility with the programming and we reached out to the labels to source and deliver the content in HD.”

“The use of audio-visual media is increasingly becoming an integral part of the environment that characterizes the world of today’s shopping,” said Sam Losar, President of YCD USA. “The buying process in the clothing, footwear and many other industries combines messaging to the client during his visit to the store, to strengthen the brand and assist in his decision making, as well as to entertain him, to make his stay an enjoyable experience.”

In addition to customer-oriented content, YCD software offers an on-demand playback method that allows management to use the media wall as an internal communication tool, displaying training videos and corporate messaging to help ensure that store personnel are aware of products and promotions in order to improve customer service.

“The project at Telecom Italia’s flagship store reflects the inherent experiential depth of in-store digital multimedia and its contribution to the relationship between the customer and the vendor,” said Noam Levavi, YCD’s CEO. “The ability to combine essential information with innovative brand experience, creates an atmosphere where shopping is about more than just a purchase alone.”

“Digital Out Of Home communication really gets to the next level when you have a chance to work with the brand from the very beginning, designing together the experience delivered to the target” said Roberto Vogliolo, DOOH.IT’s CEO. “This is exactly what happened with Telecom Italia’s flagship store project, where technology has been perfectly integrated with the creative communication concept.”

DOOH.IT, an Italian company specializing in designing and installing digital signage networks has coordinated the entire installation. The screens and content are managed remotely by YCD|CMS from DOOH.IT headquarters in Turin.

Alkemy digital_enabler, an Italian independent digital agency, was responsible for the creative concept design and content development.

YCD Multimedia Announces Retail Advertising and Merchandising Platform Version 5 (RAMP 5) and New RAMP HTML5 Player

New York, June 21, 2013 – YCD Multimedia, a leading global provider of smart digital media solutions, today announced the release of YCD|RAMP 5 – the next generation of the company’s proprietary Retail Advertising and Merchandising Platform (RAMP). This new version combines robust campaign management capabilities with HTML5 support.

YCD|RAMP 5 brings RAMP’s flexibility, scalability and ease of use to the next level with the introduction of HTML5 templates and a brand new “run anywhere” RAMP HTML5 Player. HTML5 templates open up a world of dynamic and flexible content creation options. With the RAMP HTML5 Player, campaigns and menu boards can now be displayed on most devices and browsers supporting HTML5. Together, the two help businesses harness the growing popularity and powerful capabilities of HTML5 to create engaging experiences faster and easier, more cost-effectively and – as a result – more frequently.

Product updates, new campaigns and advertisements can be quickly and easily managed using RAMP’s intuitive interface, capable of differentiating price and promotion by location and time. These can then be sent to one, some or all locations using presets to ensure that each location receives and deploys relevant updates on time. Individual store managers or local regional managers can manage corporate-authorized campaign slots and make real-time updates based on local criteria such as weather, events/promotions, or inventory levels.

YCD|RAMP 5 maintains all existing functionality that was developed specifically for marketing workflows; it allows retailers to create, manage and deliver branded marketing campaigns and product promotions across their entire retail chain. Marketing teams can easily deploy branded templates that can be used with in-store multimedia content and display arrangements that work to attract, assist, inform and promote. Configuration types can include menu boards, point-of-sale impulse and brand loyalty displays.

“YCD|RAMP 5 meets the market’s requirement for more scalable and open solutions,” said Noam Levavi, YCD’s CEO. “The new version is optimized to further enhance RAMP as a marketing tool to meet the specific business objectives of retailers. I see this as a way to help corporate marketers improve business processes, as well as to establish a tool set that will improve the management of marketing campaigns, making them more targeted, more efficient and more effective, in a way that creates measurable results for the bottom-line.”
