Aviv Brosilovski, Tecom CEO: “Over the last couple of years we’ve witnessed a dramatic growth in the use of smartphones and tablet applications in the educational environment. What could be simpler than adopting the multi-touch screen, commonly used by the presenter in his smartphone, into his teaching station – the TecPodium! Presenters no longer have to undergo extensive training on racks full of amplifiers, controls, and switches; they can now focus on their messages, not the technology.”

TecPodiums have rapidly become the lectern-of-choice. Across the globe educational institutions, government facilities, hospitals, corporations and military are all installing TecPodium lecterns.

Tecom will be displaying the new TecPodium Lectern and its latest technology at InfoComm 2013, on June 12-14 at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida. Tecom will be at Booth # 2481.

Case Study: The “Golden Arches” Gets TecPodium Interactive Lecterns

A recent installation at the new corporate training facility included TecPodium Interactive Lecterns.
After having operating difficulties with the existing Audio-Visual equipment at the training center, Ronald said “enough is enough”.
The waste of training time, and money spent on technician hours, were issues managers and lecturers dealt with on daily basis.

TecPodium installations at the new training facilities were quick and clean as all cables and wiring were already in place.
Now all trainers and instructors feel more comfortable to use all audio-visual equipment, and can easily concentrate on the content instead on delivery.

One of the new rooms is the multi-purpose cafeteria hall where the TecPodium lectern controls the AV equipment, projector, motorized projection screen and more.
We look forward to expanding to other training centers, and to serve as an example in other corporate environments.

Case Study: Tecom TecPodium Presenter at Magnitogorsk State Technical University

Recently one of Tecoms’ Russian system integrators has successfully completed the installation of TecPodium Presenter lecterns across the classrooms at Magnitogorsk State Technical University. Ilya Mukhin, Tecom Rep in Russia noted “I must say that this project was one of the most complex and interesting for us in recent years. Installing the lecterns and projectors in a classroom with a ceiling height of 12 meters was quite a challenge!”

At the heart of each classroom is the TecPodium Presenter. The ergonomic lectern is virtually a vandal proof workplace for the instructor and contains everything required during a presentation. The integrated interactive pen display is ideal solution for technical universities. Professors at the University remarked “Writing formulas during a lecture directly on the screen is far more convenient than using an interactive whiteboard, and the more traditional blackboard and chalk. Moreover, all my notes can be easily stored in a digital format and can be used in a similar lectures next time”.

As the integrator was faced with the unusual construction and ceiling height, there was no adequate ceiling mount for the projectors nor could short-throw projectors be used. A custom made 3meter floor pedestal was manufactured for the projectors with a special lockable cage, enabling easy access for projector maintenance while still keeping it secured and protected. Each classroom was also equipped with 4 wall mounted speakers, special sound amplifiers in metal protective case and large projection screens.

The University reports that the lecturers are very pleased with the outcome – they no longer have to struggle with the audio visual equipment or set up the video projector, laptop and screen, connect, and configure all the equipment …Now, a click of button at the TecPodium Presenter and all the equipment is automatically turned on, saving time and effort.

Winning the “Best Classroom Product Award”, the TecPodium Presenter offers a compact stylish, height adjustable lectern, a 19″ LCD interactive display – enabling “on screen” annotation, conveniently located controls, built-in high-end computer, front USB connectors and accessible DVD drive. The Presenter comes equipped with electronically controlled hydraulic lift for height adjustment. With the press of a single button, you can easily adjust the height to suit the lecturer’s physical requirements.

Mukhin concluded: “Magnitogorsk is the third University in the region, after Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk Ural city, standardizing on our TecPodium Presenter. We look forward to continued cooperation with the University and wish faculty and staff a pleasant, efficient and interesting work with our unique classroom AV solutions”.
