Electrosonic, a major player in system design and integration for audio, video and show control systems for the themed attraction arena, takes great pride in its involvement with four TEA (Themed Entertainment Association) 15th Annual Thea Award-winning projects.

Announced at the IAAPA Expo (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions), these coveted awards are bestowed upon projects of design and execution excellence in the exhibit, attraction, experience and themed entertainment markets.

With much credit going to Electrosonic’s notable A/V prowess, the Thea awards went to The Simpsons Ride, Newseum, Jungala Busch Gardens, and Tree of Prosperity at theWynn Casino Macau. more

Unlimited Visibility Lighting Design (UVLD) supported o2 Creative Solutions with lighting and video projection for a pair of dramatic Scion product reveals during an event promoting the young, hip brand at the Toyota National Dealer Meeting held in Las Vegas. The event was produced by o2 Creative Solutions. o2 Principal Brian Hords provided the creative vision and direction for the production team. It’s unanimous: Leave it to Coemar Infinity ACL, Infinity Wash XL and ParLite Led lights to have kindled color, flare, bounce and flounce at the 9th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, broadcast from the Toyota Center in Houston.

The hopping hispanica-de-musica-fest, hosted by actors Cristian de la Fuente and Patricia Manterola, featured past Latin GRAMMY winners Gloria Estefan, Jose Feliciano and Carlos Santana, among other notables. Unquestionably, Coemar lights generated the effervescence, energy and excitement required to power-up the night. more

Digital content designers and creators Idyll Hands Imagery, Inc. has provided transitional content and projection for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular Arena Tour traveling to 18 cities nationwide.

Designed for venues of 7,000-12,000 people, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular arena show replicates the magic of the famed Radio City Christmas Spectacular in New York — the #1 live holiday production in the world– re-imagined specifically for large-scale venues. Requiring 34 trucks and 16 buses to transport equipment and personnel from city to city, the arena show showcases the Radio City Rockettes and their celebrated precision dancing, and includes lighting effects, stunning imagery, flying sequences, sets that surround the audience, snowfall and the Living Nativity scene. more

When Canadian broadcast giant Rogers Sportsnet called for a panoramic on-air, mega-backdrop for its new studio, it turned to Applied Electronics for the Christie HD projector and the Christie Vista Spyder video/widescreen display processor. Scharff Weisberg was tasked with providing video support at three venues within the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a by-invitation-only memorial service for famed artist Robert Rauschenberg who passed away earlier this year.

“They did an excellent job and guided us through all of the technical challenges of a very complex event,” notes Mark Pace, an independent event coordinator with extensive background in convention and performing-arts facility management. “It is my understanding that the Rauschenberg Memorial was the first time the Museum has had a ‘simulcast’ between The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium and The Temple of Dendur, not to mention a delayed webcast of the event.” Speakers for the Memorial were split between the Auditorium and The Temple of Dendur requiring the live feed from each room to be broadcast to both rooms. more

Electrosonic, Inc. has been a key player in the multi-million-dollar renovation of the Museum of Tolerance/Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. Among the improvements made by Electrosonic was the installation of a 308-channel Iosono sound system in the Peltz Theater — the first theatre installation of its type in the US –, extensive AV support for a new exhibit depicting Simon Wiesenthal’s Vienna office and the upgrading of many other exhibits and interactive displays. more

After an 8-year stretch, Columbia Records’ rock regals AC/DC are back in black: Their long-awaited Black Ice World Tour surely shimmers and shakes us all night long, with Coemar Infinity Wash XL lights calling the conductor cues.

According to co-lighting designer Dave Hill , the theme of this tour was “driven by AC/DC’s new album Black Ice, and its first track, Rock ‘n’ Roll Train. The stage was designed with this in mind,” he explains, “and the 5 curved trusses represent the roof beams of a railway station.” more

Making a stellar grand appearance at the 60th prime time Emmy Awards, American Hi Definition, Inc. powered the stage with the Christie Roadster 3-chip DLP(r) projectors and the Christie Vista Spyder for the star-studded event. Nearly a month away from celebrating its first birthday, the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE played host to the prestigious TV awards gala, charting a milestone on its diamond anniversary. more

Scharff Weisberg helped The Madison Square Park Conservancy’s Mad. Sq. Art program take the pulse of the city with extensive lighting support for conceptual artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s Pulse Park interactive lighting installation.

Pulse Park marks the US public art debut of the artist, one of the world’s preeminent practitioners of interactive public art, who was born in Mexico City and educated in Canada. It is viewable nightly, October 24 – November 17, from dusk to 10 pm in Madison Square Park, located between Madison and Fifth Avenues and 23rd and 26th streets. Visitors entering the park between those hours have their heart rates monitored by two heart-rate sensor sculptures, which activate 200 theatrical spotlights, creating a pulsating matrix of light across the central Oval Lawn of the historic location. more
