Scharff Weisberg has completed the installation of a new comprehensive sound system for the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts, the principal theater on the campus of Pace University.

The 743-seat theater is one of the largest in Lower Manhattan. Since September 2005 it has hosted the award-winning Bravo television series, “Inside the Actors Studio” with James Lipton; previously, it was home to the late Tony Randall’s National Actors Theatre. The Center is also a founding venue for the Tribeca Film Festival and the Tribeca Theatre Festival; and hosts events of the River-to-River Festival and the New York International Fringe Festival. It is also where the University’s theater students are showcased in dramatic and musical productions. more

Summerfest ’08…’twas the time to kick back and enjoy the music, comedy and festivities at the world-famous Marcus Amphitheater in 75-acre Henry Maier Festival Park, along the lakefront in Milwaukee, WI.. But not without a showdown: Robert Juliat Super Korrigan 1200W and Victor 1800W followspots were pitted against the competitors’ and won their tickets to the show. The final decision was to go with six Victors to light the event. more

The long-awaited road show Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew Live, based on the much-acclaimed MTV series, clearly gets its kicks being run entirely on a full-size MA Lighting grandMA console. With her 2008 North American Tour in full gear, lighting designer Baz Halpin reflects that it is “at times a full-on rock concert to rival AC/DC, and at other times a heavy production show similar to that of any major pop performer.” more

Outdoor musical amphitheatre The MUNY (Municipal Opera Association of St. Louis) has acquired Robert Juliat followspots to complement seven distinct shows over eight weeks. The staff and crew at the outdoor musical venue (which seats approximately 11,000 people and has just completed its 90th season) wanted followspots with more punch than they had been getting for a 300 foot throw from front of booth to front of stage (60 feet deep and 90 feet wide). more

Scharff Weisberg provided video and audio support for CNBC’s “Fast Money” program when it moved uptown to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Allen Room for Friday’s weekly wrap-up show on September 19.

“Fast Money,” which airs live weekdays at the end of Wall Street’s trading day, is usually telecast from NASDAQ. But four times a year the show takes to the road for programs sponsored by Schwab, which draw audiences of 500 to 2,500 people. more
