Video Applications took a turn on a rather unconventional stage when it provided projection and video support for the premiere of The Trey McIntyre Project’s “The More I See You” at the Orange County Performing Arts Center (OCPAC) in Costa Mesa, California.

The young, innovative Trey McIntyre Project is an Idaho-based contemporary ballet troupe known for its respected repertory of ballets and its embrace of social networking and the latest technology. During the troupe’s recent residency at OCPAC it staged two performances of “The More I See You” at Segerstrom Hall, held master classes for local students and danced several “spurbans” (spontaneous urban performances) in Orange County. more

UVLD Returns to Detroit for Hyundai Press Event at the 2010 North American International Auto Show

Despite the trials and tribulations of the past year, encouraging signs about the future of the automotive industry were to be found at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit’s Cobo Center where Unlimited Visibility Lighting Design (UVLD) participated in a Hyundai Motor America press event, January 11-12.

UVLD lighting designer and programmer Gregory Cohen and master electrician David Rees teamed with Nathan Murphy and James Rossi of Martin Brinkerhoff Associates on the event that marked the US debut of the Hyundai Blue-Will concept car. The revolutionary four-seat sedan serves as a test bed of new ideas that range from roof-mounted solar cells to drive-by-wire steering, lithium polymer batteries, and touchscreen controls and foreshadows future-focused hybrid production vehicles from Hyundai. more

Stage Research has announced the debut of its License Server, a new product that allocates licenses on demand for network users. The software runs on a central computer (server) to manage concurrent use of any Stage Research product.

“The License Server was developed to replace USB network keys that we previously had for network users,” notes Carlton Guc, cofounder of Stage Research. “The keys never really worked well, and it seemed that the developer couldn’t tell us how to fix the problems users experienced. So we decided to write our own License Server as a solution.” more
