The grandMA hobnobbed with royalty at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival where it was the console of choice for programmer Demfis Fyssicopulos and lighting designer Garry “Sport� Waldie who helped headliner Prince light up the stage. The three-day annual Coachella Festival was held April 25-27 in Indio, California. It was founded as the first major independent festival of all-rock, electronica and hip hop and has since grown into a top showcase for indie bands. This year Prince headlined day two of the event. more

Scharff Weisberg has again teamed up with internationally-renowned contemporary artist Doug Aitken providing AV support for another of his large-scale outdoor public projects, this time as part of Life on Mars, the 2008 Carnegie International at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Museum of Art. The exhibition not only poses the question, ‘Are there other forms of life in the universe?’ and ‘Can art help us explore the universe?’, it asks if the human race has turned Earth into an alien planet itself. more
