The CM1001d in-ceiling subwoofer provides a high powered 4 Ohm 10� woofer in a high performance steel deep can enclosure; the RS1001i-II open-ceiling product also utilizes the 4 Ohm 10� woofer in a patented ZeroReflectionTM enclosure. An easy access 5-position selectable tap switch is available on each unit for 25, 70.7 and 100 Volt applications, with 4 Ohm bypass. An optional high quality, low insertion loss 150 Watt transformer is also available. more

SP Controls Inc. has announced the new PixiePlus, an advanced version of the company’s popular Pixie AV device controller. The PixiePlus increases user options with advanced features such as RS232 control, automatic device shut-down after a period of inactivity, and an optional real-time clock module which enables shutdown at a specific time of day. The device also provides for a security code, comprised of a sequence of button presses on the PixiePlus panel, that prevent unauthorized use of the AV system. Users have a choice of up to eight control buttons for setting up the PixiePlus panel. more

RoHS is a European standard for manufacturing that includes “the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment”. In detail, the RoHS bans any new electrical equipment that contains more than the agreed to levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). The RoHS directive and regulations came into force on July 1, 2006. more

InfoComm Booth N5031 – SP Controls Inc. will introduce its CatLinc HDMI, an inexpensive device which allows transmission of HDMI signals over CAT5e cable. The device permits users to extend an HDTV display up to 150 feet away from an HDTV source, using two CAT5e cables, thus eliminating the need to purchase expensive HDMI cables when placing a display away from the source. The CatLinc HDMI is capable of supporting DVI equipment when used with an HDMI DVI adapter. The product includes one transmitter, one receiver, two HDMI cables, and one power supply. The device handles signal rates up to 2.25 Gbits, supporting a 1080p display. more

The Video Binloop is ideal for environments where a large number of repeating video feeds are required but rack space is limited. It provides up to 16 tracks of high bitrate MPEG-2 video in a 3 RU enclosure. Video clips, encoded at up to 15 Mbps, are stored digitally so there are no moving parts to wear out. It features composite, component and optional SDI (SMPTE 259M) video outputs. The product locks to NTSC or PAL video sync, and reads or generates linear timecode at many different SMPTE and EBU rates. It can be controlled using contact closures, RS-232, MIDI or Ethernet. Reproducer cards or entire Binloops can be grouped to respond to the same command, allowing a single event to control hundreds of tracks. Each video track may be multiplexed with stereo or Dolby AC3 audio. more
