This new engineering feat makes the MO 2000 ideal for applications where other microphones are only partly suitable or cannot even be used at all. In addition, Sennheiser is also introducing the first – and currently the only – microphone in the market to be certified by EMI/EMC laboratories for use in potentially explosive atmospheres – the Sennheiser IAS MO 2000 SET. more

UNIVERSITY OF WARWICK AWARDS SYMETRIX SYMNET A GRADUATE DEGREE

COVENTRY, ENGLAND – MARCH 2009: The Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) just completed construction of a $70 million research facility at the University of Warwick in Coventry, England that redefines the state-of-the-art in audio/visual technology, cross-discipline exchange, and academia-industry knowledge transfer. Two of the rooms in the building, a 100-seat auditorium and a psychoacoustics research laboratory, required high-fidelity audio with a capacity for extremely flexible routing and a customized user interface. WMG hired UK-based Pure AV Ltd. to realize their very specialized needs, and Pure AV support engineer Colin Hasted designed their audio systems around SymNet open-architecture DSP solutions. more

ATC MONITORS DELIVER TRUE SOUND FOR MULTI-GRAMMY AWARD-WINNING ENGINEER/PRODUCER FRED VOGLER

With one Grammy earned in 2007, the audio veteran added two more Grammys to his list for his role as audio producer of the Los Angeles Opera’s rendering of Kurt Weill’s “Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny.” The stereo recording, originally conceived and ultimately realized as a 5.1 DVD release for PBS’s Great Performances series and released on the Euroarts label, earned Grammys for both Best Classical Album and Best Opera Recording. Vogler relied on a pair of ATC SCM50A reference monitors in the acoustically-compromised control room at the opera house and a 5.1 array of ATC SCM150A and SCM50As at his mix room to create the winning recording. more

In the process of restoring the facilities to their former glory and relocating EastWest’s operations to the complex, Rogers outfitted the three principal control rooms with soffit-mounted ATC (Acoustic Transducer Company) SCM300ASL reference monitors. A pair of ATC SCM150ASL monitors is also available for near field mixing. more
