RUTH ALMGILL JOINS SONNOX AS SUPPORT ENGINEER

OXFORD, UK: Sonnox Ltd. has recruited a second Support Engineer to help look after its expanding customer base. Ruth Almgill joins the Sonnox team from her previous post as a Studio Manager at the BBC World Service, where she mixed live radio programs, complex long-form features and engineered live remote broadcasts.

Managing Director Rod Densham comments, “Our continued success in recent months is very pleasing and has resulted in a constantly growing user base. It’s important to us that we keep up the excellent level of support our customers have come to expect, and we need to grow our support team accordingly. We’re delighted to have Ruth on board.”

AES COMMITTEE CO-CHAIRS STEER 129TH CONVENTION TOWARDS BRIDGE TO FUTURE

15th Annual TEC LA Open a Hole-in-One

Jim Van Winkle Named Professional Wireless Systems GM

ORLANDO: Jim Van Winkle, former director of regional services for the Masque Sound Corporate Theater Division, has rejoined the firm as General Manager of its Orlando, Fla. based Professional Wireless Systems division.

Van Winkle cut his pro audio teeth as shop manager for Sound Associates in NY from 1978 -’87, while simultaneously serving as sound mixer and electrician with the original Broadway production of “CATS.’ He began his relationship with Masque Sound while loading the show into the Winter Garden Theater. He also served as house mixer for Radio City Music Hall during that period. Van Winkle later toured as FOH and Monitor Mixer for both Harry Belafonte and Lena Horne. more
