Valencia, Spain, August 2009 – VMB is pleased to announce the availability of Rainbow, its electro-acoustical prediction software for the company’s speaker systems, boasting horizontal as well as vertical modelling.

Windows-based, Rainbow allows simulation of complete systems, such as a main large format array complemented by a smaller delayed array and front-fills. Thus, its library of loudspeaker systems includes, not only the company’s self-powered line array modules with built-in inclinometer (LX-V8 and LX-F6 with accordion-folded ribbon HF driver), but also models from its PHASE or ADP lines.

The attenuation effects of air are well known. At 15 000Hz, for instance, 12 dB of loss can be observed at 30 metres (100 feet) with 30% relative humidity. This makes an otherwise flat frequency response at close range totally dull when the audience is located at a distance. Nominated for the 2008 PLASA Awards for Innovation , the second model in the Lynx Series, and the smaller brother of the LX-V8, the LX-F6 is a small-format 2-way line array element with integrated amplification, digital processing, networking capabilities and a built-in inclinometer.
