D-Tools Workflow-Enhancing Native iOS Mobile Quote App Now Available

Companion app to SIX 2013 enables electronic systems integrators to remotely generate bids and later import them into the D-Tools SIX 2013 software platform for full project design and management

CONCORD, CA, USA  MAY 27, 2014 — D-Tools, Inc., the worldwide leader in electronic system integration software, announced today that the new D-Tools Mobile Quote app—an iOS-based companion app for its flagship software, SIX 2013—is now available for D-Tools users worldwide. This mobile extension of SIX 2013 provides mobile project quoting capabilities that enable Commercial and Residential Audio, Video, and Security systems integrators to generate quotes natively on an iPad®, then import them into the full D-Tools SIX 2013 software platform for further project design and management. Delivering on D-Tools’ commitment to timely product updates and enhancements, this new D-Tools Mobile Quote app will immediately extend the highly functional D-Tools SIX 2013 workflow to mobile sales and specification teams.

A native iOS application, the D-Tools Mobile Quote app leverages D-Tools’ extensive manufacturer product library by enabling system integrators to access and integrate product category, sub-category and package information and price range from their SIX 2013 catalog while working with customers in the field. Integrators can enter client and contact information into the Mobile Quote app, then walk prospective customers through available installation scenarios in order to create a quote for approval. Once complete, the resulting quote can then be imported into the full SIX 2013 software application for additional design work and synchronization.

A highly efficient productivity solution, the Mobile Quote app uses many of D-Tools’ workflow concepts, extending them to the mobile environment where customer interaction often takes place. Enabling the specification of locations and systems provides integrators the ability to provide packages or pre-configured systems for inclusion in the quote. Labor and general pricing is automatically calculated, and customers are provided an accurate proposal that in many cases can be signed off for approval on the spot.

By using D-Tools mobile quoting software, integrators give their customers a professional and impressive solution that illustrates both their commitment to the latest in cutting-edge technology and respect for their clients’ time by offering fast bids on-site. An integrator’s customer no longer has to wait anxiously until the integrator gets back to the office and spends hours pounding out a quote. Solutions are quick, easy, and professional, allowing the integrator to get started on their project right away. Available to D-Tools customers via the Apple App Store, the Mobile Quote app will carry a monthly subscription fee of $25.00 per user/device.

“We’re pleased to make the D-Tools Mobile Quote app available to our global user community,” said Adam Stone, President and Founder of D-Tools. “Providing our users the ability to create quotes in the field is a natural evolution for our platform, and the Mobile Quote app is an important component that ensures D-Tools continues to meet the growing needs of our expanding electronic systems integration customer base. The Mobile Quote app release is the first release of our mobile capabilities roadmap to significantly enhance and complete our project workflow. As we have demonstrated since the release of SIX last year, this new platform enables us to deploy new features as part of rapid and regular release cycles, which ultimately provides our customers a clear path for sustained growth.”

More than 4,500 companies worldwide use D-Tools Systems Integrator Software to streamline the estimation, design, and project management processes associated with the installation and integration of low voltage systems.

D-Tools Adopts Standardization, Fully Integrates Security Industry Association Standard SIA/IAPSC Security Drawing Symbols into D-Tools System Integrator™ Software Platform

SIA/IAPSC Security Industry Standard Drawing Symbols are used for planning and integrating all facets of security system installation, are used for project designs, blueprints, or schematics, and are consistent with those used by Architects, Electronic Systems Contractors, Consultants, and others in the trade

D-Tools now features standardized security industry standard shapes

CONCORD, CA, USA – April 09, 2014 — D-Tools Inc., the worldwide leader in system integration software, today announced full integration of Industry Standard SIA/IAPSC Security Drawing Symbols into the D-Tools System Integrator™ electronic system estimation, design and documentation software platform. Straightforward and easily-recognized, SIA/IAPSC Security Drawing Symbols are used for planning security system installations and are used for system designs, blueprints, or schematics, and are consistent with symbols used by Builders, Architects, Consultants, Electronic Systems Contractors, and other professional trades to design and integrate all aspects of audio, video, networking and security installations in commercial and residential applications.

“By implementing SIA/IAPSC Security Symbols into D-Tools System Integrator™, D-Tools is better able to fulfill our commitment to providing electronic systems contractors a means for producing more professional-looking proposals and more accurate design documentation that allow them to compete at a higher level and ultimately, win more bids,” said Adam Stone, President and Founder of D-Tools. “We have been working towards adopting standardized symbols for some time because we recognize the value it provides to every entity involved in a given installation and know that in time, electronic systems contractors will be required to provide this service.”

Within the D-Tools System Integrator platform, SIA/IAPSC Security Symbol implementation consists of a grouping of Autodesk® AutoCAD symbols– including mount type and device options for each symbol– that D-Tools has converted into separate Microsoft® Visio stencil categories. In addition to Electronic Safety and Security stencils, D-Tools industry standard stencil categories include Audio Video, Communications, Control, Electrical, Furnishings, Generic, HVAC, and Vacuum Cleaning Systems.

The new SIA/IAPSC Security Symbols are available now for download and use by authorized D-Tools System Integrator users, who can access these and other D-Tools stencil updates by clicking on the Download Stencil update link in the SIX toolbar in Visio.

By adopting and utilizing the SIA/IAPSC Security Drawing Symbols into their system design and documentation practices, security systems integrators will more clearly communicate with project partners within the security market. Not only does this new standard provide needed clarity and consistency between project partners, it also provides security systems integrators an opportunity to compete for bids at a higher level, earn and maintain project access, streamline processes, and boost their bottom line.

More detailed information about the new D-Tools SIA/IAPSC Security Architectural Drawing symbols can be found on the D-Tools documentation D-Tools wiki, by visiting the D-Tools Blog Site, by calling 1-866-386-6571 ext. 1, or by emailing info@d-tools.com. CONCORD, CA, USA – APRIL 09, 2014 D-Tools Inc., the worldwide leader in system integration software, today announced full integration of Industry Standard J-STD-710 Audio, Video and Control Architectural Drawing Symbols into the D-Tools System Integrator™ electronic system estimation, design and documentation software platform. Straightforward and easily-recognized, J-STD-710 Audio, Video and Control Architectural Drawing Symbols represent all facets of audio, video, and control pre-wire and installation for system designs, blueprints, or schematics, and are consistent with symbols used by Builders, Architects, Interior Designers, CE Manufacturers, Electronic Systems Contractors, and other professional trades.

“By implementing industry standard J-STD-710 Architectural Drawing Symbols into the D-Tools System Integrator™ platform, electronic systems integrators are provided an effective means for producing professional-looking, easily recognized proposals and design documentation that allows them to compete at a higher level and win more bids,” said Adam Stone, President and Founder of D-Tools. “Not only does standardization provide extensive value to every entity involved in a given installation, it will soon be a service that systems integrators will be required to provide. Essentially, we’re giving integrators a leg-up on their competition by encouraging the early adoption of industry standardized.”

Within the D-Tools System Integrator platform, J-STD-710 implementation consists of nine categories of Autodesk® AutoCAD symbols– including mount type and device options for each symbol–that D-Tools has converted into nine separate Microsoft® Visio stencils. The categories include Audio Video, Communications, Control, Electrical, Electronic Safety and Security, Furnishings, Generic, HVAC, and Vacuum Cleaning Systems.

The new D-Tools J-STD-710 stencils are available now for download and use by authorized System Integrator users, who can access these and other D-Tools stencil updates by clicking on the Download Stencil update link in the SIX toolbar in Visio.

By adopting and utilizing the J-STD-710 Audio, Video and Control Architectural Drawing Symbols into their system design and documentation practices, electronic systems integrators will more clearly communicate with project partners across different trades. Not only does this new standard provide needed clarity and consistency between project partners, it also provides systems integrators an opportunity to compete for bids at a higher level, earn and maintain project access, streamline processes, and boost their bottom line.

D-TOOLS TO DEMONSTRATE WORKFLOW-ENHANCING MOBILE QUOTE APP at ISC WEST 2014

Companion app to SIX 2013 enables security systems integrators to remotely generate bids and later import them into D-Tools SIX 2013 for full project design and management.

D-Tools Mobile Quote is a Companion App to D-Tools System Integrator that extended the user's workflow to a mobile environment for onsite consultations.

CONCORD, CA (ISC West 2014 booth #26135) MARCH 26, 2014 D-Tools, Inc., the worldwide leader in system integration software, today announced that the Company will demonstrate its new iOS-based iPad® companion app for its flagship product, SIX 2013 at ISC West April 2-4, 2014 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas (D-Tools booth #26135). Available now for D-Tools partners worldwide, the new release adds mobile quoting capabilities that enable Commercial and Residential AV integrators to generate quotes natively on an iPad, then import them into the full D-Tools SIX 2013 software platform for further project design and management. Delivering on D-Tools’ commitment to streamline product updates and enhancements by consolidating them into an annual release, this new companion app will immediately extend the highly functional D-Tools workflow to mobile sales and specification teams.

A native iOS application, the D-Tools Mobile Quote app leverages D-Tools’ extensive manufacturer product library by enabling integrators to access and integrate product category and package data from their SIX 2013 catalog while working with customers in the field. Integrators can enter client and contact information into the iPad app, then walk prospective customers through available installation scenarios in order to create a quote for approval. Once complete, the resulting quote can then be imported into SIX 2013 for additional design work and synchronization.

The Mobile Quote app uses many of D-Tools’ workflow concepts, including the specification of locations and systems, which allows integrators to provide packages or pre-configured systems for inclusion in the quote. Labor and general pricing will be calculated to give the customer an accurate proposal, which can then be signed off for approval on the spot.

“Delivering features that enable our users to create quotes in the field is a natural evolution for us. The D-Tools Mobile Quote app is an important component that ensures our platform continues to meet the growing needs of our expanding security customer base,” said Adam Stone, President and Founder of D-Tools. “The Mobile Quote app release is just the beginning. In fact, we are already working on additional mobile capabilities that significantly enhance our product roadmap. As we have demonstrated since the release of SIX last year, our new platform enables us to deploy new features as part of rapid and regular release cycles, which will ultimately provide our customers a clear path for sustained growth. We think ISC West attendees will be excited by the capabilities of this powerful new app. ”

More than 4,500 companies worldwide use D-Tools Systems Integrator Software to streamline the estimation, design, and project management processes associated with the installation and integration of low voltage systems.

The D-Tools Mobile Quote iPad® app will be demonstrated during ISC West April 2-4, 2014 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas, D-Tools booth # 26135.
