Extron Now Shipping New Market-Leading Speaker Innovation for Suspended Ceilings

Extron Electronics is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the SpeedMount Ceiling Speaker System, a patented low profile, plenum rated two-piece ceiling tile speaker system for division-of-labor installations. The CS 1226T SpeedMount speaker system features the newest speaker innovation from Extron, a unique design that greatly simplifies ceiling speaker installation and delivers significant time and cost savings. The two-piece system consists of the CS 120P plenum rated enclosure and a CS 26T two-way speaker cartridge. A low-voltage contractor places the CS 120P enclosure directly on the ceiling grid without the need for a tile bridge, C-ring, or tile rails. Signal wiring is then routed to the enclosure. This dramatically cuts installation time and costs during the rough-in phase. Later, an AV technician can quickly complete installation by connecting the CS 26T speaker cartridge to the wiring and securing it into the enclosure. Extron Introduces Three Input Switcher with Integrated DTP Transmitter

Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce the DTP T USW 233, a three input switcher for sending HDMI or analog video, audio, and control up to 230 feet (70 meters) over a single CATx cable to an Extron DTP 230 receiver. It is HDCP compliant and provides two HDMI inputs, one RGBHV or component video input, and one DTP 230 twisted pair output. The analog signals are digitized to ensure a high quality digital video signal is transmitted to the DTP 230 receiver. The switcher also offers many integrator-friendly features, such as EDID Minder, auto-switching between inputs, audio input assignment, and remote powering. These features plus the low profile enclosure make the DTP T USW 233 ideal for discreet placement in lecterns, beneath tables, or in other locations.

“Integrators and consultants are often challenged to find the ideal products that meet the connectivity requirements at the conference table or lectern,” says Casey Hall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Extron. “The DTP T USW 233 combines digital and analog AV switching with twisted pair extension into one compact product that simplifies the installation and design of most installations.”

The DTP T USW 233 provides reliable switching and transmission of HDMI signals, supporting Deep Color up to 12-bit and embedded HD lossless audio formats. For simplified operation, the DTP T USW 233 can automatically switch between the digital and analog sources. In addition, the analog audio input can be assigned to any of the three video inputs, or it can be set to follow the input switch. To simplify integration of sources and displays, the switcher features two Extron-exclusive technologies: EDID Minder and Key Minder. EDID Minder manages EDID communication between the display device and input sources to ensure that the correct video formats are displayed reliably. For HDMI signals with protected content, Key Minder authenticates and maintains continuous HDCP encryption between input and output devices to ensure quick and reliable switching.

The switcher includes an RS-232 and IR insertion port, enabling simultaneous transmission of bidirectional RS-232 and IR signals from a control system using the same twisted pair cable that transmits video and audio. For added installation flexibility, a single external power supply can be used to remotely power the DTP T USW 233 transmitter or a DTP 230 receiver over the twisted pair cable. The DTP T USW 233 offers convenient control options, including front panel control, RS-232, and contact closure with tally output for easy integration into a variety of environments.

Extron Introduces Convenient, Energy-Saving Power Controller

Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce the PC 101 . This one input, one output AC power controller is designed to provide remote power management for AV devices. When paired with a controller or control processor equipped with relays, such as the MediaLink MLC 226 IP or IP Link IPL 250, the PC 101 can be configured to turn a device ON or OFF at scheduled times for security and energy savings purposes. It features a contact closure control input and tally output, which can be used for visual feedback. The slim, compact form factor and IEC connectors on pigtails enable convenient in-line use with other devices and discrete mounting behind displays or other equipment. The PC 101 has a power rating of 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, allowing for worldwide compatibility.

Extron Introduces Encoder and Decoder for Real Time Streaming of HDCP-Compliant HDMI Over IP

Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce VN-Matrix 250 encoders and decoders, which provide real-time transmission of high resolution HDCP-compliant HDMI, DVI, or RGB video across standard IP networks for use in real-time streaming, recording, and playback applications. The VN-Matrix 250 Series accepts HDMI and RGB signals at resolutions up to 1920×1200 and 2048×1080, and streams video and audio over an IP network, preserving the native source resolution of digital or analog video sources. Extron Introduces H.264 Streaming Media Decoder for Pro AV Applications

Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce the SMD 101, a compact, high performance H.264 streaming media decoder used with Extron SME 100 encoders to provide complete end-to-end AV streaming systems. The SMD 101 is designed specifically for use in professional AV streaming applications to decode live AV streaming content from SME 100 encoders or to play back AV media files available from network shares. It accepts streaming resolutions up to 1080p/60 and outputs a variety of resolutions, from 640×480 up to 1920×1200. Fill/Follow/Fit aspect ratio management provides choices for managing streaming content that does not match the display. This compact, energy-efficient decoder is an ideal counterpart to the SME 100 encoder to deploy in simple overflow and monitoring applications or multi-channel streaming systems and high resolution signage systems.

MGP Pro HDCP-Compliant Multi-Window Processors Now Shipping

Extron Electronics is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the MGP 462 Pro and MGP 464 Pro, two new powerful, high resolution multi-window processors that enable the simultaneous display of multiple images on a single screen — two windows for the MGP 462 Pro and four windows for the MGP 464 Pro.
