Apantac Launches New Extenders and Matrix Switches at NAB 2012

Apantac continues to expand its line of TAHOMA Multiviewers, MT HOOD Extenders & Switches, MAZAMA fiber, and CRESCENT signal processing solutions and is launching many new products at NAB 2012, booth N4806.

New to the TAHOMA Multiviewer series:
• MiniQ – Compact expandable: The MiniQ uses the Apantac t-link™ technology to configure its flexible outputs. A fully populated MiniQ 3 RU frame can be configured as 8 quad-splits with 32 windows on a single output. Any window can be freely adjusted. The MiniQ supports inputs ranging from composite to 3G SDI and can output up to 1920×1200 50/60Hz.

New to the MT HOOD Extenders & Switches series:• HDBaseT extender and receiver set with Ethernet and Power over Ethernet (POE)
• 4×4 and an 8×8 HDMI Matrix switch
• Dual Head KVM Extender to extends VGA, USB mouse, and keyboard over two CAT 5e/6 cables
• Dual Head KVM Extender to extends HDMI/DVI, USB mouse and keyboard over two CAT 5e/6 cables
• A USB Touch Screen Extender extends VGA with USB control over a single CAT 5e/6 cable
• VGA Skew Corrector – provides skew delay correction between the Red, Green and Blue VGA signals being transmitted over CAT 5e/6 cable.

New to the CRESCENT Signal Processing series:

• Universal Scaler – US-3500 – Converts inputs ranging from composite, component, VGA, DVI and HDMI into any SDI format (with Genlock.)
• Universal Scaler – US 3000 – Converts inputs ranging from composite, component, VGA, DVI and HDMI into any SDI format.
• MicroQ – Low cost quad-split that accepts a range of inputs including composite, SDI, HD-SDI, 3G HD-SDI and outputs up to 1080p in both HDMI and SDI.
• tWarp – Turns any output of a TAHOMA Multiviewer to portrait mode by turning it 90 or 270 degrees.

New to the MAZAMA Fiber Series:

• DVI Fiber Optic extender that passes true EDID using a single SC type fiber. Extends 1080p signals up to 1500 feet.
• Dual Link DVI Fiber Optic extender that supports resolutions up to 3840×2400. Extends signals up to 1000 feet.
• HDMI Fiber Optic extender that uses a single SC type fiber. Extends 1080p signals up to 1500 feet.
• DVI Fiber Optic fixed cable extender that extends 1080p signals up to 500 meters at resolutions up to 1920×1200.
• DVI Dual Link Fiber Optic fixed cable extender that extends Dual Link DVI signals up to 330 meters, using two multi-mode SC fibers.
• HDMI Fiber Optic extender that extends 1080p signals up to 500 meters over a single multi-mode SC fiber.

New to the MT HOOD series:

Korean Broadcasting Systems (KBS) Selects LYNX Technik Interface Solutions to Help Meet Demand for HD Content in Korea

Korean Broadcasting Systems (KBS) selected LYNX Technik modular solutions to boost its coverage of the 2011 IAAF World Championship in Daegu, Korea. Broadcast Solutions managed the project as systems integrator and general contractor alongside its local partner, Dong Yang Digital Co., Ltd in Seoul, Korea.

To meet the growing demand for HD entertainment and sports programming, Broadcast solutions was brought on board to aid KBS with the design and development of the new 16-camera high definition OB van. The project was completed over an eight month period. The new truck has been partitioned into four production rooms – video, audio, camera control / shading room, and equipment and was delivered to KBS on June 30th 2011. Its inaugural production was for the 2011 IAAF World Championship.

The World Championship in Athletics is a bi-annual event organized by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF). This year it was held from August 27 – September 4, 2011 and Korean Broadcasting Systems (KBS) served as the events host broadcaster.

In order to meet the challenges posed by this broadcast event, KBS along with Broadcast Solutions selected a number of broadcast technologies, and among them was a range of the LYNX Technik Series 5000, card-and-rack-based glue products. A full complement of LYNX Technik Series 5000 interface and signal processing solutions, in seventeen 2RU frames were installed in the OB Van and include; 3G / HD-SDI , frame synchronizers, up/cross/down-converters, distribution amplifiers, as well as control and monitoring. more

LYNX Technik to Debut yellobrik Serial RS232/422/485 Plus GPI Fiber Transceivers at IBC 2011

LYNX Technik AG, provider of modular interfaces is expanding its yellobrik series with the launch of Serial / GPI Fiber Transceivers at IBC 2011 stand 8.E24. Two models are available; ODT 1510 (up to 10 Km) and ODT 1540 (up to 40 Km).

These multi-functional modules allow both serial data communications and GPI I/O to be extended over the same fiber link. They enable broadcast and production facilities to migrate a variety of signal types onto fiber utilizing a single set of modules. • CHD 1812 – HDMI to SDI Converter with an integrated Frame Synchronizer
