Vaddio Launches WideSHOT High Definition Camera for Conferencing Rooms Requiring a Wide Field-of-View

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (June 10, 2013) – Vaddio introduces the WideSHOT point-of-view camera, designed for conferencing rooms that require professional-quality high definition video images with a wide field-of-view.

“Our WideSHOT camera was designed for our consultants and integrators that need an HD camera for meeting rooms that require a very wide field-of-view to cover all of the participants sitting at a table,” explained Rob Sheeley, President of Vaddio. “We discovered that in smaller conferencing applications, the end users don’t really want to move the camera around as people talk to keep them in the picture. They would rather have everyone in the picture to begin with.”

The WideSHOT Varifocal Multi-Element Glass Wide-Angle Lens provides a wide 82-degree field-of-view that results in an exceptionally wide image and depth of field. A 3x manual optical zoom provides plenty of zoom range for framing the video image. Additional imaging control functions include manual iris for aperture adjustment for room lighting conditions and manual focus.

Built around a 1/3-Type progressive scan image sensor, the WideSHOT performs extremely well in low light conditions down to 0.3 LUX. Powerful DSP provides a Wide Dynamic Range of 110dB, video noise reduction, excellent contrast under varying light conditions, vivid color reproduction and exceptional high-resolution detail. Video output resolutions include 720p 30/59.94/60, 1080i 30/59.94/60. 1080p 30/59.94/60.

Each WideSHOT Camera system comes with an integrated Quick-Connect Cable interface to allow for easy installation with Cat 5 Cabling. Quick-Connect head-end signal output options includes USB, HDMI, Analog Component and Ethernet.

Vaddio’s complementary QuickSET mounting system offers simple installation by just positioning the camera to a required shot and locking it in place. Optional wall and ceiling mounts are available in addition to the standard set-top mount.

Vaddio Launches IP Video Streaming Support for ClearVIEW HD-USB Cameras

Vaddio, the global leader in robotic PTZ cameras and camera control systems, announces a major software update to the ClearVIEW HD-USB PTZ camera. In addition to the current USB streaming, version 2.0 allows for IP HD video streaming and remote PTZ camera control through the Ethernet network interface. Integrators now have the design flexibility to choose between USB or Network streaming – all in one device.

Streaming Protocols supported are Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS). Encoding for video will be H.264 (Main Profile) and the audio encoding will be AAC. Streaming adaptive network bandwidth allocation is supported with Adaptive Bitrate technology by detecting a user’s bandwidth and CPU capacity in real time and adjusting the quality of a video stream accordingly. This results in a smoother more life-like motion streaming experience. Supported resolutions include both SD and HD high definition resolutions up to 1080p.

“We have been asked by our integrators for a number of years to build IP video streaming into our camera systems,” explained CEO of Vaddio, Rob Sheeley. “We also knew that if we were to give them streaming, we would also have to give them remote IP PTZ camera control as well. Now they can control the camera from wherever they are watching the stream. This latest free software update to the ClearVIEW USB PTZ camera does all this and more.”

Vaddio’s New EasyUSB PRO MIC I/O Transforms Any Third-Party Mic to a USB Mic When Paired with an EasyUSB Mixer/Amp

Vaddio today launched the EasyUSB PRO MIC I/O Interface, designed to integrate any professional microphone with Vaddio’s EasyUSB audio solutions. The PRO MIC I/O Interface incorporates Vaddio’s unique SmartMIC technology into the device, providing distributed multi-channel acoustical echo cancellation and automatic microphone mixing. Additional DSP/Digital Signal Processing technologies include noise reduction, microphone gating, equalization, filtering and AGC for automatically calibrating to the live requirements of the room.

The PRO MIC I/O comes equipped with four independent echo cancellation microphone inputs and one discreet output for interfacing to the Vaddio EasyUSB Mixer/Amp. The system can be expanded to support eight microphones by adding an additional PRO MIC I/O.

“When we launched our EasyUSB MicPODs we heard from a lot of our integrators that while they loved them, they also wanted to have the capability of adding any professional microphone to their system designs,” explained CEO, Rob Sheeley. “So we are responding to their requests with the launch of the PRO MIC I/O. We believe that this is a game changer for consultants and integrators because they can now integrate the world’s best microphones into their Vaddio USB solutions. The audio quality of Microsoft Lync, Cisco WebEx and Skype audio calls will be amazing and with our state of the art DSP signal processing, they sound crystal clear and echo free.”

With Vaddio’s SmartMIC technology, there’s no more complex programming or time-consuming setups. No more having to relearn the room every time a change occurs.

“Plug in the microphone of your choice, adjust the input gain and let the PRO MIC I/O do the rest,” says Sheeley. “Once again Vaddio has given you The Art Of Easy.”

Vaddio Combines Echo Cancellation and Automatic Mixing Into TRIO Microphones with SmartMIC Technology

Vaddio announces its revolutionary TRIO audio line with SmartMIC technology. TRIO SmartMIC technology is the industry’s first microphone system to incorporate Digital Signal Processing and echo cancellation directly into the microphone itself. The internal DSP features microphone gating, equalization, AGC and noise cancellation. With SmartMIC technology, internal DSP and echo cancellation can now be integrated into any manufacturer’s audio mixing system.

Each TRIO SmartMIC is equipped with an array of three electret condenser microphones positioned to form a 360-degree pickup pattern. This unique technology is based on the microphone’s ability to actively manage the room’s live audio for gain, gating and echo cancellation. Once detected, the microphone will adjust and mix down to a single output. Because the intelligence is inside the microphone, any mixer can now be used in a live collaboration application for audio conferencing and achieve outstanding results.

“Our TRIO SmartMIC technology was designed to allow our integrators to have a simple and less expensive approach to adding live audio conferencing into their room designs,” explained CEO of Vaddio, Rob Sheeley. “As our industry moves away from designing presentation-only rooms into designing interactive collaborative workspaces, adding clear, echo-free audio has become a major priority. Designing complex and expensive echo cancellation systems for one room just doesn’t work in a world where collaboration is being deployed in EVERY room.”

The TRIO I/O interface device allows the connection of up to four SmartMICs and because each input is effectively running three microphones on three different channels, users can technically run 12 microphones all with independent echo cancellation and internal DSP. For installations requiring more than 12 SmartMICs, just add an additional EasyMIC I/O for 12 more channels.

With Vaddio’s new SmartMIC technology, there’s no more complex programming. No more time-consuming setups or outrageous equipment costs. Want to hang the microphone from the ceiling? The same SmartMIC technology in the table microphone is available in a ceiling version as well.

Vaddio Launches Major Software Update to AV Bridge and ClearVIEW HD-USB PTZ Camera

Vaddio, the global leader in robotic PTZ cameras and camera control systems, announces a major software update to the AV Bridge and ClearVIEW HD-USB PTZ camera. This update adds support for 4.2.0-encoded video applications including WebEx, Microsoft Lync and GoToMeeting.

“When recording lectures with detailed classroom and presentation content, HD video is essential and the higher video resolutions work great,” explained COO of Vaddio, Mark Steen. “But when you’re network only provides limited bandwidth, sometimes lower resolutions are the only way to go. Streaming an HD video call, only to have it scaled down on the soft client end, doesn’t make much sense and eats up a lot of bandwidth.”

Supporting lower resolution software applications now allows Vaddio’s EasyUSB products to be compatible with even more industry-leading videoconferencing and lecture capture programs.
