By joining AVnu Alliance Yamaha (and Yamaha group companies) reaffirms its dedication to providing users with the most up-to-date, flexible system solutions through products that will support AVB in addition to current network technologies.

The goal of the Alliance is to establish AVB (Audio Video Bridging) as the standard networking protocol that will provide practical and useful services to all customers. BUENA PARK, Calif.—Taylors First Baptist Church in Taylors, South Carolina was chartered and established in 1864. The ‘u-shaped’ sanctuary seats approximately 2,100, and with two services on Sunday mornings, the church serves a congregation of 3,000. Recently, Palmetto Sound Works of Spartanburg, S.C. was contracted to perform an upgrade to their existing audio system originally installed in 1995. About four years ago, the audio contractor performed a partial upgrade that included a Yamaha M7CL-48 digital audio console. This year, the complete upgrade includes a second M7CL-48 along with Yamaha Installation Series IF Speakers, PC amps, and a DME-64n processor. more

Hollywood, Calif.—In-house AV company Swank Audio Visuals recently added a NEXO GEO S8 system and Yamaha M7CL-32 digital audio console to their production arsenal for the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel’s Grand Ballroom. Located in the famous Hollywood and Highlands complex that also houses the Kodak Theatre, Hard Rock Cafe, (and soon-to-be opened Rolling Stones venue), the 25,000 square foot Grand Ballroom and sole hotel on the property seats 2,000 theatre-style. more

BUENA PARK—The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark, New Jersey has added a Yamaha PM5D-EX system to their existing stable of Yamaha consoles. The new system, which was purchased through Masque Sound (East Rutherford, NJ), joins two Yamaha M7CL, two DM1000′s, and O1V. One M7CL console is permanently installed in the Victoria Theater that seats over 500 at the NJPAC complex. The other consoles float and can be used as a monitor console or for any of the venue’s corporate events and meetings. more

BUENA PARK, Calif. – Opened in 1928 and built in Spanish Mission style, the IAO Theater in historic Wailuku Town on the Hawaiian island of Maui recently underwent a complete system upgrade. Featuring a Yamaha integrated audio system the project yielded a vast improvement over the hodgepodge of antiquated equipment the theater had been using for 50 years. The IAO Theater was once the main entertainment venue for all of Maui, known for hosting movie premieres, live stage acts including such stars as Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra, and major community events. In 1953, the theater hosted the star-studded Hawaiian premiere of “From Here to Eternity”. more

WEST MONROE, Louisiana⎯In 1969, W.R. Lowe and his wife established Christ Church in West Monroe, Louisiana with 21 attendees at the first service. This year, and 30 years after it was established, the church is celebrating the recent completion of a new 43,000 sq. ft. campus expansion including a state-of-the-art 1,200-seat contemporary worship center. Christ Church hired American Audio, Inc. (Ruston, Louisiana) to design and install the audio, lighting, and acoustic systems at the new facility. more

BUENA PARK, Calif.—In conjunction with its launch at the Plasa Show, Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. announces the debut of the world’s first arrayable line monitor. The NEXO 45 N-12 12-inch arrayable line monitor is 19 3/8� wide, 22 5/8� deep, 15 7/16� high, and weighs 62 lbs. The NEXO line monitor is a significant improvement over point source monitors in that there is no interference between adjacent monitors allowing for a very stable, steady frequency response in the coverage area. The versatile, arrayable line monitor is very small but its high SPL output covers almost all stage monitoring requirements. more
