Starlite Productions Hosts Yamaha and NEXO Demos

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Starlite Productions, in Moorestown, New Jersey will host Yamaha and NEXO demonstrations featuring the NEXO S12 line array, PS15 speakers, the new 45 N-12 line monitors, and Yamaha Installation Series speakers. The event will take place on Tuesday, May 24 from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm and feature presenters from Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc.

The Yamaha Commercial Audio Rolling Showroom housing all the latest in Yamaha digital products will be making an appearance at the event.

Logic Systems Supports Carolina Rebellion Festival

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Hard-hitting rock acts performed at the first ever Carolina Rebellion Festival that took place on May 7 at the Metrolina Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina. Co-produced by Right Arm Entertainment and AEG, over 35,000 fans throughout the Carolinas and the mid-Atlantic were treated to a full day of non-stop rock on two side-by-side stages. Performers consisted of My Darkest Days, Cavo, Saving Abel, Halestorm, Hinder, Skillet, Alter Bridge, Bullet for My Valentine, Theory of a Deadman, Seether, Stone Sour, Three Days Grace, Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold, and more.

Logic Systems Sound & Lighting, Inc. of St. Louis provided the main PA, which consisted of a 96-box NEXO GEO T line array, 36 NEXO CD18s (six clusters of six), and 12 NEXO PS8s used for front fills. Two Yamaha PM5D-RH digital audio consoles were used for monitors.

Top Christian College Chapel Installs NEXO

Wenham, Mass.—The A.J. Gordon Memorial Chapel at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts is among one of the top Christian colleges and the only non-denominational college in New England. The chapel seats 1,600, making it one of the largest venues on Boston’s North Shore. Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems to Launch Dugan-MY16 at NAB Exhibition

OverTone Over the Top with Yamaha LS9 Digital Audio Console

BUENA PARK, Calif.—OverTone is a group of seven young a’cappella performers hailing from South Africa. Their recent success includes nine songs performed for the Oscar-nominated film Invictus, directed by Clint Eastwood, who with his wife discovered the band on a trip to South Africa. They have performed as guest artists for the GRAMMY®-winning One Republic and have toured with Platinum selling artist Corrine Bailey Rae, to name a few.

OverTone just finished up a two-month stint at The Wynn Las Vegas. James ‘Jimbo’ Oneal, independent front of house engineer was hired by Rhino Sound in Las Vegas to man a Yamaha LS9-16, owned by The Wynn and purchased specifically for the OverTone shows. The band played 15 short performances per day, six days a week in various locations throughout the resort.

iPad App Announced for Yamaha LS9 Digital Console

BUENA PARK, Calif.—In conjunction with an international launch at the Music Messe Expo, Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. announces the availability of the iPad app StageMix for the Yamaha LS9 digital audio console. The new software will be shown at NAB in April.

Similar to the iPad app recently launched for the Yamaha M7CL console, StageMix is an application for the Apple iPad that allows remote control of LS9 mix functions via a simple, intuitive graphic interface from anywhere within wireless range. The application enables the engineer to set up monitor mixes from a performer’s position on stage directly controlling mix parameters via the iPad. To run StageMix on an iPad, a wireless connection from the iPad to a WIFI access point and an Ethernet connection from the WIFI access point to the LS9 is required.

Monitor Engineer Britton, Earl Klugh Band Give Thumbs Up to NEXO Wedge

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Since it began delivering in late December, the new NEXO 45 N-12 12-inch line monitor is receiving rave reviews. Engineer Melissa Britton, had the opportunity to use the new NEXO line monitors for Earl Klugh and his band at a recent show held at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts in California. Although filling in at front of house on a Yamaha PM1D for this particular show, Britton normally mixes monitors using Yamaha digital consoles for Klugh. BUENA PARK, Calif.—Yamaha Stagemix software for the M7CL iPad app was recently installed into Chicago concert venue Viper Alley. Located in Lincolnshire, Illinois, the venue is the brainchild of Scott Greenberg, creator of the Wit, Chicago’s hippest boutique hotel. Viper Alley opened in early March with American Idol winner Lee DeWyze performing for two hundred online raffle ticket winners. The club also features a complete NEXO sound system. The installation was completed by Gand Sound Installations (Glenview, Illinois).
