Prestigious Jazz Club Installs New Sound System

NEW YORK—Since opening its doors in 1981, the Blue Note in New York City has become one of the premier jazz clubs in the world and a cultural institution in Greenwich Village playing host to some of the greatest musicians of all time such as Ray Charles, Sarah Vaughan, Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton, Nina Simone, BB King, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Tony Bennett, Chris Botti, to name a few as well as modern hip-hop and R&B stars, including Lauryn Hill, Mos Def, Common and Lupe Fiasco. Gand Sound Supports Fantabuloso ‘Dos’

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Fantabuloso ‘Dos’ 2011 took place in mid-May at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, and Gand Concert Sound (GCS) once again provided audio system support that included a NEXO GEO T tangent array rig. Artists appearing at the concert included Pitbull, Mike Posner, Lupe Fiasco, Taio Cruz, T-Pain, Jesse J, Far East Movement, David Gueta, and Tinie Tempah.

Known as the “NEXO Guys?, Gand supplied 21 GEO T4805s and three GEO T 2815s per side for mains, seven 4805s and two 2815s per side for out fills, supported by 28 CD18 subs. OSA and SES Give Assist to “Oprah’s Surprise Spectacular? with Yamaha and NEXO Audio Support

BUENA PARK, Calif.—With joint production support from Special Event Services (SES) and On Stage Audio (OSA), “Oprah’s Surprise Spectacular” (Harpo Productions) aired May 23 and 24 bringing together some of the biggest names in movies, music and television in the one-time-only gathering to celebrate the 25-year legacy of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

As part of audio system, SES and OSA provided two 96-input Yamaha PM1Ds (cascaded together for 200+ inputs), an M7CL-32 digital console, DME64N digital mix engine, and MSP101 reference monitors. Monitor world consisted of dual 96-input Yamaha PM1Ds, seven NEXO NXAMP 4x4s, and 12 of the new NEXO 45 N-12 line monitors.

Yamaha to Launch Rupert Neve Designs 5045

BUENA PARK, Calif.—As part of its new strategic partnership, Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. will show the new Rupert Neve Designs- 5045 Primary Source Enhancer at InfoComm 2011 in booth #823. Primarily used in live sound applications, the 5045 will be distributed by Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems in North America.
The RND 5045 is a 2-channel analog 1 RU device that will reduce the tendency of feedback. The unit enables up to 16dB of additional gain before feedback when conditions allow. Easy to use, the device reduces background sounds, consequently enhancing the main audio source, especially helpful when using with podium, lavalier, and headset mics. The Rupert Neve Designs 5045 uses transformer-coupled inputs and outputs that produce the same classic sound found in renowned Rupert Neve products.

Yamaha to Debut Acoustic Echo Canceller Card for DME24N/64N Digital Mixing Engines

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. will launch the new MY4-AEC (Acoustic Echo Canceller) card at InfoComm in Booth #823. A new high-performance conference system solution utilizing Yamaha AEC technology, the 4-channel MY4-AEC has a maximum echo cancellation time (tail length) of 400 ms. The card has a matrix mixer that is able to mix four different locations for reference inputs, enabling features for remote conferencing applications when using Yamaha digital mixing engines DME24N and DME64N in single or multi-point meeting situations.

The MY4-AEC card offers a 4-channel noise reduction function that removes background noise from air handlers, projector fans, etc. providing a clear, precise sound. Yamaha Rolling Showroom Summer Tour Season Begins

BUENA PARK, Calif.—The Yamaha Rolling Showroom will kick off its summer tour season with two mid-west dates scheduled featuring YCATS (Yamaha Commercial Audio Training Seminars) training sessions. Live! Technologies in Columbus, Ohio will host demos on June 21st followed by a BBQ courtesy of Yamaha and Live!. Sessions will include training on the Yamaha M7CL48-ES, DM1000, digital networking, Yamaha speakers, and amplifiers.

Mankin Media Installs NEXO System at Palm Valley Church

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Palm Valley Church in Mission, Texas recently hired Mankin Media Systems (MMS) of Franklin, Tennessee to design/build a new facility to house their growing congregation. The existing 600-seat auditorium previously thought to be large enough was now bursting at the seams so a new 2,500-seat auditorium was erected.

MMS worked with architects that were not familiar with the type of facility the church wanted, and also worked closely with local engineers and contractors to ensure the building was built to the specifications and standards set by Palm Valley Church. The timeline was a bit of a challenge in order to achieve the desired results, with the added challenge of making sure that structural steel, power, and acoustics were all positioned precisely so that the new systems would work as designed.

Starlite Productions Hosts Yamaha and NEXO Demos

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Starlite Productions, in Moorestown, New Jersey will host Yamaha and NEXO demonstrations featuring the NEXO S12 line array, PS15 speakers, the new 45 N-12 line monitors, and Yamaha Installation Series speakers.
