Yamaha Rolling Showroom Summer Tour Season Begins

BUENA PARK, Calif.—The Yamaha Rolling Showroom will kick off its summer tour season with two mid-west dates scheduled featuring YCATS (Yamaha Commercial Audio Training Seminars) training sessions. Live! Technologies in Columbus, Ohio will host demos on June 21st followed by a BBQ courtesy of Yamaha and Live!. Sessions will include training on the Yamaha M7CL48-ES, DM1000, digital networking, Yamaha speakers, and amplifiers.
The June 23rd session will take place at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan and will include training on the Yamaha M7CL48-ES, DM1000, digital networks, NEXO speakers, and amplifiers.

Each training session for both locations will last one hour, and attendees can sign-up for one or more events. Mankin Media Installs NEXO System at Palm Valley Church

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Palm Valley Church in Mission, Texas recently hired Mankin Media Systems (MMS) of Franklin, Tennessee to design/build a new facility to house their growing congregation. The existing 600-seat auditorium previously thought to be large enough was now bursting at the seams so a new 2,500-seat auditorium was erected.

MMS worked with architects that were not familiar with the type of facility the church wanted, and also worked closely with local engineers and contractors to ensure the building was built to the specifications and standards set by Palm Valley Church. The timeline was a bit of a challenge in order to achieve the desired results, with the added challenge of making sure that structural steel, power, and acoustics were all positioned precisely so that the new systems would work as designed.

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Starlite Productions, in Moorestown, New Jersey will host Yamaha and NEXO demonstrations featuring the NEXO S12 line array, PS15 speakers, the new 45 N-12 line monitors, and Yamaha Installation Series speakers. Logic Systems Supports Carolina Rebellion Festival

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Hard-hitting rock acts performed at the first ever Carolina Rebellion Festival that took place on May 7 at the Metrolina Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina. Co-produced by Right Arm Entertainment and AEG, over 35,000 fans throughout the Carolinas and the mid-Atlantic were treated to a full day of non-stop rock on two side-by-side stages. Performers consisted of My Darkest Days, Cavo, Saving Abel, Halestorm, Hinder, Skillet, Alter Bridge, Bullet for My Valentine, Theory of a Deadman, Seether, Stone Sour, Three Days Grace, Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold, and more.

Top Christian College Chapel Installs NEXO

Wenham, Mass.—The A.J. Gordon Memorial Chapel at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts is among one of the top Christian colleges and the only non-denominational college in New England. The chapel seats 1,600, making it one of the largest venues on Boston’s North Shore. OverTone Over the Top with Yamaha LS9 Digital Audio Console

BUENA PARK, Calif.—OverTone is a group of seven young a’cappella performers hailing from South Africa. Their recent success includes nine songs performed for the Oscar-nominated film Invictus, directed by Clint Eastwood, who with his wife discovered the band on a trip to South Africa. They have performed as guest artists for the GRAMMY®-winning One Republic and have toured with Platinum selling artist Corrine Bailey Rae, to name a few.

OverTone just finished up a two-month stint at The Wynn Las Vegas. James ‘Jimbo’ Oneal, independent front of house engineer was hired by Rhino Sound in Las Vegas to man a Yamaha LS9-16, owned by The Wynn and purchased specifically for the OverTone shows.
