Allstar Designs and Installs Yamaha, NEXO System for Beulah Ministries

Edmonton, Alberta⎯Allstar Show Industries recently completed a design/build installation for Beulah Ministries in Edmonton on both their main and satellite campus. Dwayne Plishka, project manager, is also the technical director for the ministry. The 85–year-old church is in its third building, an auditorium that seats 1,400 with an average weekly attendance of over 2,000. A rental facility serves as its new Whitemud satellite campus serving a congregation of 100 and seating 250. more

University Theatre Updates Audio System with Yamaha

Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada⎯The University of Lethbridge (Alberta, Canada) recently upgraded the audio system in its University Theatre with a Yamaha M7CL-32 digital audio console and SB168-ES Stage Box. Installation assistance was provided by Wavetech Sound & Lighting located in Southern Alberta. The University boasts one of the fastest-growing post-secondary student populations in Canada with more than 8,000 students from 62 countries – one of the most geographically diverse student populations in Alberta. University Theatre seats 500 and is a multi-use venue hosting lectures, road shows, theatrical performances for young audiences, concerts, operas and about four major productions by the Department of Theatre and Dramatic Arts. more

Le Studio Mobile Provides World 5.1 Audio Feed for Vancouver Olympics

Montreal, Canada⎯Le Studio Mobile recently spent six weeks in Vancouver providing 5.1 audio mixes for broadcast coverage of the Opening, Closing, and Medal Ceremonies of the 2010 Olympic games as well as mixes of nightly musical entertainment.

Le Studio Mobile used its complete arsenal of professional audio equipment including dual Yamaha DM2000v2 digital consoles, handling all inputs from BC Place for music, vocals, announcements and speeches. John Simpson, of Sydney, Australia was the mix engineer assisted by Brian Power of Halifax, Nova Scotia. All elements were recorded on four 48-tracks recorders. more

NAC Technologies Provides Cleveland’s Finest Performance Venues with NEXO and Yamaha

BUENA PARK, Calif.⎯The Palace Theater originally opened in 1922 and is part of the Playhouse Square complex, an integral part of the Cleveland Theater District. The venue, which seats 2,700, accommodates an eclectic mix of shows, from touring productions to concerts. Recently, the existing sound system was replaced and a new system was designed and installed by NAC Technologies (Cleveland) under the leadership of senior audio engineer Rick Galbraith and company owner Dave Cooper. more

Worship Arts Technology Summit Set for Biola University

LA MIRADA, Calif.-⎯Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. and Yamaha Corporation of America, along with Elation Lighting, Shure and Media Shout will sponsor a Worship Arts Technology Summit (WATS) on June 14-16 at the campus of Biola University in La Mirada, California.

The seminars will offer product and technical training to church technicians and musicians seeking the finest in-depth technology training available in the areas of audio, musicianship, lighting, recording, and media presentation. Summit sponsor experts along with leading worship musicians will be on hand for the in-depth three-day tracks that include Audio, Musician, Lighting, Media, and Vocal. All skill levels are welcome as the training will be presented in structured technology tracks, allowing attendees to begin with the basics and build upon them with a series of increasingly advanced class offerings. These sessions will offer hands-on participation, focused teaching and certification. more

Yamaha M7CL Version 3.01 Software Released

BUENA PARK, Calif.⎯Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. has announced the availability of Version 3.01 software for the M7CL digital audio console. The software will support all M7CL models including the recently launched M7CL-48ES. The new software can be downloaded free of charge at www.m7clv.3.com.

Major additions to M7CLv3.01 software include a Channel Select/Sends On Fader option as well as the addition of a Conversion button to the System Setup dialog box. The Channel Select/Sends On Fader will specify whether the channel selection and Sends On Fader operation are linked between the M7CL and the Editor. The colors of the faders will turn gray when the input channels are OFF to show the status of Input the channels. more

A-1 Audio Installs Yamaha IMX644 Digital Rackmount Mixers at Big Cedar Lodge

TABLE ROCK LAKE, Mo.⎯Located just ten miles south of Branson, Missouri on Table Rock Lake and tucked into the wooded hillsides of the Ozark Mountains, Big Cedar Lodge (a Bass Pro Shop property) has become a popular meeting/vacation paradise – complete with Jack Nicklaus signature golf course and Dogwood Canyon Nature Park. It is also home to the new Grandview Conference Center. Big Cedar Lodge recently hired A-1 Audio (Hollister, Mo.) to install a sound system in the 1,000-seat Grand Ballroom (the space can be separated into four individual meeting rooms). Five Yamaha IMX644 digital rackmount mixers were installed to accommodate the Lodge’s requirements. more
