OMNISON BUILDS UP NEXO ARTILLERY TO OVER 90 CABINETS

omnison-2009-034.jpgMontreal, Canada⎯In just two years as a NEXO dealer, Omnison (Montreal) has increased their inventory of NEXO speaker cabinets to over 90 including GEO S, GEO D, GEO Subs, CD12s, RS15s, LS1200s and LS400s, PS8s and 15s along with NEXO 4×4 and 4×1 amplifiers. The company also has a stock of Yamaha digital audio consoles. Omnison offers a wide range of services, from equipment rentals to full production, and in years past, have provided full production for events such as Formula One, the Montreal White Party held in April at the Montreal Palais des Congres, where the company supplied a NEXO GEO D line array, and for the second year, provided support to Canada Day (July 1) at the Old Port in Montreal.

Southern Baptist Convention Finds ‘Comfort’ in New Yamaha TXn Amplifiers

southern-baptist-convention-audio-team.JPGLOUISVILLE, Ky.⎯The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), formed in 1845, took place this year June 23- 24 in Louisville, Kentucky at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center. The convention included Music features and Concerts of Praise over the two-days and was attended by over 8,800. Audio assistance was provided by Bill Thrasher, Thrasher Design Group; Chris Hinkle, Prestonwood Baptist Church of Dallas; Blair McNair, independent monitor mix engineer; Phil Allison, Waveguide Consulting; Jim Carey, Liberty Baptist Church; Jack Pitts, Capitol Design Group; as well as house of worship product and marketing managers from Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. Electronic Design Company Gives Minnetonka Arts Center a NEXO Facelift

BUENA PARK, Calif.⎯Minnetonka’s Arts Center on 7 has a new look and a new speaker system thanks to Electronic Design Company (EDC) of Shoreview, Minnesota. The site has recently gone through a complete facelift and extensive remodeling. EDC has been in business for over 50 years and installed sound systems for the Guthrie Theatre and Children’s Theatre in Minneapolis, to name a few. GAND CONCERT SOUND USES LARGEST NEXO GEO T RIG FOR YOUTH OF AMERICA

The event ran from July 22 thru 26, in addition to a five-day load in and set up, and was attended by 38,000 teenagers from all over the world. Music acts included Skillet, Group 1 Crew, the Katinas, rapper Agape, and Peter Mayer from the Jimmy Buffet Band. Sunday morning featured a musical mass with Lutheran Bishop Mark Hanson including communion for 37,000.

Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems Appoints Kimmel as Mixer Product Manager

In his new position, Kimmel will be responsible for product training, the implementation of marketing and support programs, and recommendations for mixing console product design from the North American market to the research and development team in Japan. He will report to Marc Lopez, marketing manager, Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc.

For three decades, Kimmel has been an audio mixer, system designer, recording engineer, and most recently held the position of Assistant Technical Director at Disneyland. He was also monitor engineer for Tower of Power’s “Soul Vaccination Tour? and was the front of house engineer for Luis Miguel’s “Aries” and “Segundo Romance” world tours.
