Christie MicroTiles Utilized For New Market Open Ceremony at London Stock Exchange

Christie®, a global visual technologies company, is proud to announce the largest and one of the most prestigious installations of Christie® MicroTiles™ to date in EMEA, at the London Stock Exchange in Paternoster Square, London. The installation will be utilized in the Exchange’s new Market Open Ceremony.

The installation of 508 Christie MicroTiles at the London Stock Exchange follows a recommendation for their use by CMS Consultant Jerry Collins and a subsequent tender won by long-standing Christie Partner, Focus 21 Visual Communications Ltd.

Christie MicroTiles are a unique proposition in display technology, offering video and data display building blocks that can be used to create displays of varying size and shape, which are complementary to their environment.

Clarkson University, New York State’s highest-ranked small university, is using Christie® MicroTiles™ for a unique, digital display wall that is quickly becoming the hub of campus life.
With the concept developed by Christie partner Video Visions, Inc., the video wall is the centerpiece of the amphitheater in the school’s new Student Center, which opened in September 2010. Students voted to increase their own activity fees to help fund the center, and wanted to make it both welcoming and technologically advanced. The wall combines an array of 80 Christie MicroTiles arranged in a 10 wide by 8 high configuration, media servers, Crestron touch panel and 12 inputs (with expansion potential for 15), delivering a rich, vibrant audio/video experience that gives students information about campus events, sports feeds such as hockey games, live music from the campus radio station, and four HD television feeds. US Naval Academy Uses Advanced Ship’s Bridge Simulation Solutions to Train Naval and Marine Officers

The second upgrade of the projection systems for two ship’s bridge training simulators at the US Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, Maryland was recently commissioned to assist underclassmen to learn ship’s navigation and safety on the high seas and in scores of harbors around the world. These USNA bridge simulators are built by Kongsberg Maritime Simulation Inc., which in turn relied on design and service support from Electric Picture Display Systems, Inc. of Melbourne, Florida and state-of-the-art simulation projectors from Christie Digital Systems USA, of Cypress, California.

The USS Storm’s projector was installed in late November 2010 and the simulator was used by more than 180 underclassmen per day in December 2010 alone.
