New Clear Series 2 HDMI Packaging from ICE Cable Systems Blends Retail Beauty with Custom AV Functionality

Los Angeles, CA – October 14, 2014 – ICE Cable logo_webICE Cable Systems, a leading manufacturer of premium low-voltage wire and cable products, has begun shipping its Clear Series 2 HDMI cables in smart new packaging that makes a great first impression and benefits the installation process (storing, jobsite and client presentation phases).

”Most wire and cable companies in the custom channel ship their HDMI cables in clear bags which are either heat-sealed or zip-locked,” says ICE Cable Systems President Brian Rizzo.

”Integrators prefer bags because they can easily be stored in a work truck where space is a premium. The problem is that they look like sandwich baggies; this doesn’t make for a great presentation to your client.”

”We set out to design a bag that has an upscale feel while offering enhanced functionality,” furthers Rizzo. “We landed on a re-sealable package that with its lush artwork and glossy-coating captures the premium look-and-feel that ICE Cable Systems is recognized for, while also incorporating hang-holes for an impressive presentation at retail.”

”From a functionality perspective, we incorporated a really tough plastic exterior that can take a beating and protect against water damage too. All these features combined make for a bag that exceeds the daily demands of the integrator,” concludes Rizzo.

The company’s Clear Series 2 HDMI cables in lengths from .5 to 30 meters are available in the new packaging at no additional up-charge.

IC Realtime to Wow Crowds at CEDIA Expo 2014 with Industry’s First 720-Degree Video Surveillance Camera Technology. And its Integrated into Ferrari Race Car

Pompano Beach, FL – September 9, 2014 – At CEDIA Expo 2014 this week, IC Realtime, a global innovator of Internet of Things enabled video technology solutions, will be demonstrating its IC720 remote-viewing platform which captures 720-degrees (with no blind spots and without requiring any moving parts). Ideal for the most elite residential, commercial, governmental and municipal surveillance applications, the technology has been tested in 2013 Grand-AM Rolex GT championship-winning team Scuderia Corsa’s Ferrari 458 Italia race car where it streams HD video from racetrack to Ferrari guest’s devices. Both the race car and cameras will be on display at IC Realtime’s CEDIA Expo exhibit booth #776, where attendees can witness first-hand the wholly-immersive, 3D-like experience that the platform delivers.

“Pulling from experience in having brought to market our single-lens Immersive-360 camera line, our R&D division has pioneered a remote-viewing platform comprised of proprietary software — leveraging gyroscopic movement technology — and a dual-lens 720-degree camera system. By incorporating many software sensors and synchronizing both front and rear spheres (camera lenses) together, we’re able to capture 360-degree x 360-degree video to create a 3D-like experience that puts the viewer completely in the center of the action,” says Ivan Onuchin, Executive Vice President of R&D for IC Realtime. “This will create a realm of endless possibilities for what can be achieved in video surveillance. It is nothing short of remarkable.”

Many different megapixel versions of the IC720 dual-lens camera will be available beginning this year

The 720-degree technology will make its way to market this year in a brand-new series of two-lens mega-pixel cameras from IC Realtime called IC720. Different versions of the camera with interchangeable sensors and lenses to achieve a wide variety of video surveillance needs (including a 28-megapixel version) are currently in the works. According to Onuchin, the technology incorporates 15 unique aspects that the company has applied/received patent protection on.

IC720 and Scuderia Corsa Racing With Ferrari
“We originally spec’d the technology for automobile racing as it’s one of the most extreme testing grounds we can get our hands on,” says IC Realtime CEO Matt Sailor. “Its first application is in Scuderia Corsa’s Ferrari 458 Italia No. 63 – a car that is currently competing on the US circuit, and won the championship last year.”

Founded in 2011 by Giacomo Mattioli and Art Zafiropoulo, Scuderia Corsa Racing With Ferrari is the 2013 Grand-AM Rolex GT championship-winning team that supports the racing needs of Ferrari clients through turnkey programs, GT endurance racing, the North American Ferrari Challenge Series and track events. IC720 worked closely with the team to incorporate the camera into the racecar.

Streaming live high-definition video to mobile devices — and uncompromised at speeds in excess of 100 MPH — the camera is used during practice laps and is planned to eventually be used during racing as well.

“Soon the very same technology that we are testing with Scuderia Corsa Racing With Ferrari will be available for all types of elite surveillance applications,” adds Sailor. “This will be an industry game-changer.”

Triad Speakers, Inc. Unveils New Speaker for Dolby Atmos Sound

Bronze LR-H model to deliver award-winning Dolby Atmos multi-dimensional sound

Portland, OR — August 27, 2014 — Custom made-in-the-USA manufacturer Triad Speakers, Inc.
today announced a new home theater speaker developed to deliver captivating, multi-dimensional sound with Dolby Atmos. Triad’s Bronze LR-H is an in-room loudspeaker that utilizes a traditional D’Appolito design (2 front-firing drivers with a tweeter located in between). Integrated into the enclosure is a Dolby-enabled height channel comprised of an up-firing top driver array that aims sound towards the ceiling. In the Dolby Atmos system, the Bronze LR-H is used for left and right front and rear main channels (one enclosure per channel).

With Dolby Atmos®, sound comes alive from all directions, including overhead, to fill the home theater with astonishing clarity, power, detail, and depth.

“At Triad, we are very proud of our role in helping Dolby develop the standards for Dolby Atmos enabled loudspeakers,” says Triad Speakers, Inc. President and CEDIA Chairman Larry Pexton. “Dolby used Triad design and development services to prototype the upward firing Dolby enabled speakers and supplied our prototypes to its industry partners who used them to evaluate electronic components licensed under the Dolby Atmos program.”

Demonstration at CEDIA Expo 2014
Triad will display the Bronze LR-H at its CEDIA Expo 2014 booth (#448). The Dolby booth (#180) will include two live presentations of Triad speakers, one using four InRoom Bronze LR-H (built-in Dolby enabled upward firing speakers), and another using four Triad InCeiling Bronze/8 LCRs for the overhead sound.

“Triad has been developing and experimenting with a wide range of solutions including in-room, in-wall, on-wall and in-ceiling designs,” says Pexton. “Somewhat to our surprise, in testing our speakers we have found that the built-in height channel — which reflects off the ceiling — performs better in some applications than using dedicated ceiling speakers for the height channel.”

“At the CEDIA Expo, listeners will be able to form their own judgment of which system they prefer. Either way I am very confident they will leave very impressed with capabilities and added sonic dimensions of the Dolby Atmos systems presented,” furthered Pexton.

Bronze LR-H Specifications
Dimensions (inches): 7-9/16 (w) x 19-1/2 (h) x 9-1/4 (d)
Frequency Range: 88 Hz – 20 kHz (+/-3dB)
Recommended Amp Power: 50-200 watts (range)
Nominal impedance: 4 Ohms
Sensitivity: 89 dB (2.83v, 1m)
Front Firing Drivers: Two 5.5-inch SB Acoustics drivers and one 1-inch SB Acoustics fabric dome neodymium tweeter
Top Firing Drivers: Four 2-inch full-range ScanSpeak neodymium drivers

Pricing and Availability
The Bronze LR-H is priced at $1,000 MSRP per speaker. Availability is slated for Q4 2014.

The loudspeaker will be available in a wide variety of colors and finishes including custom paint-matched or veneered to match the décor of the room.

ICE Cable Systems Invests in the Latest REELEX Cable Coiling Machine

Newer technology features the latest optimizations in both hardware and software, and is customized for ICE Cable Systems’ products, making this premium wire & cable brand’s Big Mouth Payout bulk wire dispenser even better

Example of REELEX II wind pattern and dispenser Los Angeles, CA – August 25, 2014 – ICE Cable Systems, a leading manufacturer of premium low-voltage wire and cable products, today announced that it has invested in a new REELEX coiling machine for its factory.

REELEX’s tangle-free technology is a patented method of winding wire and cable into a figure-eight coil. In optimizing each coil, factors such as gain, payout hole control and the density of the wind, along with progressive coil tension, are all instrumental to producing tangle-free packages. This unique coil can only be produced on a specially-designed and patented REELEX machine and accompanying customized software.

The REELEX II coil within the bulk wire carton does not rotate during payout, nor does any inertia take place. Void of any moving parts, the coil dispenses from the inside-out with a clear path and avoids the typical twists, tangles and snags that plague bulk wire cartons.

The REELEX II technology is a key element in ICE Cable Systems Big Mouth Payout bulk wire carton, that along with other conveniences such as ascending and descending foot markers on the cable jackets, and extremely durable 24 kilogram burst-tested cardboard with dual-layer handles, have made it very popular among installers.

“We’ve taken something good and made it even better,” says ICE Cable Systems President Brian Rizzo. “We’ve invested in a machine that represents the state-of-the-art in wire and cable technology and custom-configured it for our cables. The net result for our dealers will be perfect pulls, from the first foot to the last.”

ICE Cable's Big Mouth Payout bulk wire carton

Timothy Copp, Vice President of REELEX notes, “Installers need to know there is knock-off pull-box packaging out there. Non-REELEX coils might look and act like REELEX, but are prone to tangling, cable deformities, and can cause damage to the cable – leading to performance issues.”

IC Realtime Launches Open Platform 720-Degree Surveillance Camera Software

Presently available as a free App at iTunes.com, this special hardware-agnostic software enhances the user-experience of any 180- and 360-degree analog, IP or Megapixel surveillance camera by completely immersing the viewer into the center of the action

Pompano Beach, FL – August 21, 2014 – IC Realtime (CEDIA Expo 2014 Booth #776), a global innovator of Internet of Things enabled video technology solutions, has just released the first version its IC720 surveillance camera software. A key element of the company’s upcoming 720-degree camera line, the software also dramatically improves the user-viewing experience of its 180- and 360-degree surveillance cameras (all analog, IP and mega-pixel models), as well as those of other brands. Available as a free App at iTunes.com, IC720 is presently compatible with iPad – with versions for iPhone, Android and a variety of mobile devices, tablets and laptops, on the way.

IC Realtime CEO Matt Sailor

”The IC720 software creates a panoramic, 3D-like experience that completely captivates viewers by putting them in the center of the action, far surpassing anything available in video surveillance monitoring to date,” says IC Realtime CEO Matt Sailor. “This game-changing technology is reinventing the way we think about and approach video and software solutions that can be deployed across almost all hardware applications.”

According to Sailor, an added beauty of IC720 is that it’s built in a modular format, making it device-agnostic, therefore capable of integrating with all video surveillance cameras on the market today.

“If the software doesn’t already work with the manufacturer’s application, just provide us your RTSP video stream path, and we’ll make it work,” says Sailor, addressing both surveillance camera manufacturers and security system installation companies. “The functionality of the application is second nature, and the potential of the application itself is limitless.”

Road Tested
The software was tested in the most extreme condition that IC Realtime could find – automobile racing. The company worked closely with Scuderia Corsa race team to outfit their Ferrari 458 Italia No. 63 — a vehicle that is currently competing on the US circuit and won the Grand-Am GT championship last year — with its new 720-degree video camera and software. Streaming live high-definition video to mobile devices — and uncompromised at speeds in excess of 100 MPH — the camera is used during practice laps and is planned to eventually be used during racing as well.

The IC720 hardware and software technology incorporates 15 unique aspects that the company has applied/received patent protection on.

Different versions of the camera with interchangeable lenses and sensors are currently in development. The first is slated to hit the market beginning September 2014.

Seymour-Screen Excellence Brings to Market Best-in-Class Ambient Light-Rejecting Film Screen Line

Available in 1.3, 2.1 and a black 1.2 gain version, the company’s proprietary technology prevents color shifting and sparkling in a manner that has already been declared best-in-class by reference calibrator
W. Jeff Meier in his June 2014 AccuCal Projection Screen Material Report

Ames, IA – August 19, 2014 – Seymour-Screen Excellence — the made-in-the-USA brand best known to date for its luxurious, reference-grade acoustically transparent 4K film screens — is rounding-out its offerings with Ambient-Visionaire™, a proprietary ambient light filtration technology that the company claims is the most advanced to ever reach the market.

The Ambient-Visionaire is a solid screen surface, comprised of billions of nano-mirrors, dithered at the desired viewing angle, and layered so that side light (from any direction) will be absorbed by carbon particles and the substrate.

Ambient-Visionaire screen surface close-up

”By shrinking the reflective elements down to less than 1/10th the smallest size visible by the human eye, the screen cannot create a discrete sparkle,” says Seymour-Screen Excellence Managing Director Chris Seymour. “They are so small and dense, that a 16K resolution pixel would have over 300 mirrors to itself; a 4K pixel would have nearly 5,000. With this more efficient method of selectively reflecting the projected image versus ambient light, the screen offers the reference quality color uniformity that Seymour-Screen Excellence is known for without exhibiting any color shift, sparkles or ringing – all issues that have plagued performance of ambient light-rejecting film screens.”

Chris Seymour putting the finishing touches on a film screen

Ambient-Visionaire Silver Series
To satisfy a wide range of installation applications, the Silver Series consists of both 2.1 and 1.3 gain versions. The Silver 1.3 was reviewed and declared best-in-class by W. Jeff Meier in his June 2014 AccuCal Projection Screen Material Report. Meier is considered by many in the industry to be a leading reference calibrator. The AccuCal report can be read here: http://bit.ly/1lWPgec

Ambient-Visionaire Black Series
Using the same aggressive combination of carbon particles and stacked, dithered nano-mirrors along with a deep black background that absorbs 90% of ambient light from any direction, the 1.2 gain Black produces a 12x improvement in contrast ratios in environments that are otherwise unsuited to front projection use, even outdoors.

The Ambient-Visionaire screens are available in sizes up to 130-inches wide (141-inches diagonal) in 2.37 aspect ratio and 100-inches wide (115-inches diagonal) in 16:9 aspect ratio. The surface of both the Silver and Black series feature a durable finish that can be wiped down and cleaned with common household cleaners including rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits.

While manufactured in Seymour-Screen Excellence’s Ames, Iowa production facility, the Ambient-Visionaire line is also available outside of The Americas through partner Screen Excellence, located in the UK.

”The response to Ambient-Visionaire from dealers, reps, calibrators and press has been extremely enthusiastic,” says Patrice Congard, Seymour-Screen Excellence partner. “Chris Seymour has done a phenomenal job – certainly his background as an engineer has been quite influential in the development of this special screen surface. I am quite confident that Ambient-Visionaire will be a catalyst in our joint-venture taking an even stronger foothold in the home theater channel.”

The services offered include audio calibration, design, performance measurements and video calibration. AccuCal is unique in this business segment. Jeff has developed proprietary software and methods that are combined with industry reference sensors and standards to deliver superior results. AccuCal also sells no products and receives no incentives to promote products. This provides clients the assurance that recommendations are not biased by equipment margins. Since 2005, Jeff has assisted with over 2,000 audio and video installations for home theater and commercial applications including movie post production, TV advertising, businesses, churches and schools.
Equipment that is supported ranges from reference quality to very modest in nature depending on the client’s budget and needs. www.accucalhd.com
