New ICE Cable Systems HDMI Features Compact Head Design with GRIP Technology; Handles 15-lbs. of Pull-Force and Transmits 1080P/60 HZ Signals up to 100 feet without use of Baluns

Los Angeles, CA – ICE Cable Systems is shipping its new and improved Clear Series 2 HDMI Cables. Key features of the series include a compact head design, GRIP connector with locking technology and the ability to handle 1080P/60 HZ up to 100 feet (30 meters) without baluns. The line is comprised of pre-terminated cables in lengths from .5 meter to 30 meters and replaces the company’s original Clear Series.

ICE Cable’s unique GRIP connector attaches to female HDMI connectors with up to 15 lbs of pull-force, thus helping reduce disconnected cables and frivolous service calls. The compact size of the head (measures 10 MM by 19 MM by 21MM) contributes to easier side-by-side and stacking connections and takes up less space behind equipment.

In addition to an active chip set, proprietary cable technology allows the Clear Series 2 to achieve 1080P/60 HZ in runs up to 100 feet without the use of a balun, ideal for direct connections from Blu-ray DVD players and DVRs to the TV.

”Clear Series 2 is a game changer because it’s comprised of all the improvements that an integrator could want,” says ICE Cable Systems President Brian Rizzo. “With innovations in three key areas, this is a wish-list of HDMI cable technology at extremely-competitive prices.”

ICE Cable Systems has 41 active distributors in the US selling its products. Integrators can locate distributors in their area by visiting http://www.icecable.com/where-to-buy/ or by calling ICE Cable Systems at 310.444.1950.

Pioneer Music Company Buses 20 Integration Firms to CEDIA 2013 Expo

Lenexa, Kansas – October 9, 2013 – Custom channel distributor Pioneer Music Company — a member of the Catalyst AV Distribution Network that covers the Plains states -– orchestrated a “field trip” to take 20 integration companies to CEDIA Expo in Denver last month by luxury bus.

“I was the one who came up with the idea and organized it,” says David Allen of Pioneer Music Company. “The idea was conceptualized due to the fact that there were quite a few of our “top” accounts that were not going to CEDIA for one reason or another. We felt that if we could organize easy transportation and accommodations for these dealers, that they should be able to afford to take the time off. 20 companies in total, 40 attendees. 31 of the attendees took the 22 hour (2-

The bus riders!

way) trip on the bus from KC with us. Many of them had to drive a ways to get to KC. 10 of the attendees (6 companies) had never been to CEDIA before. 14 of the attendees (10 companies) would have not went to CEDIA had we not arranged this trip. We got some new exposure for the industry and some good education for the attendees.”

The terms of the field trip attendance were that attendees must visit each one of the trip’s sponsors booths (8 total booth visits) and main trip sponsors had one attendee from each company in a manufacturer product training class.

The main field trip sponsors were as follows Atlona, CORE Brands, ICE Cable, URC, and Vivitek. The secondary sponsors were Definitive Technology, IC Realtime, Mitsubishi, and Yamaha.

”The Cedia field trip with PMC took the stress travel of and planning out of my hands and allowed me to focus more on the show itself. I also enjoyed touring the PMC Kansas City location and meeting the people in person that we speak to on the phone. This trip strengthened my relationship with PMC and their manufacturers and I hope we can do it again,” said Levi Angst, of Integration Excellence, located in Lebanon, MO.

“We had the opportunity to go to an event that we did not know about and would not have gone to otherwise,” said Tom Alexander of Elite Home Audio, located in Tiffin, Iowa. “It was a great learning experience and gave us a lot more options as far as sales to our customers which in turn makes our business more money. This is a great event and everyone in the A/V industry should go.”

enerG Selects Catalyst AV Distributors to Take Home Awareness & Energy Management System To Market

BURLINGTON, MA – September 20, 2013 – Home awareness and energy management brand enerG Corp. — which is making its channel debut at the 2013 CEDIA Expo (booth #428) — has selected the Catalyst AV Distribution Network to take the company’s Home Awareness and Energy Management System to market. Catalyst AV consists of 12 individually-owned specialty AV products distribution companies that serve more than 15,000 integrators from 18 US locations.

The enerG Home Awareness and Energy Management system consists of Z-Wave compliant hardware and accessories and a service plan that enables homeowners to customize and control all connected devices in the home, including the ability to monitor and improve energy consumption. Interaction with the system is achieved via the company’s mobile App (Android, iOS devices) or enerGhome.com portal. The system can easily be expanded to include lighting control, garage door access, keyless entry and wireless HD viewing. enerG offers a wide variety of hardware components and related accessories, and associated levels of service to accommodate these options.

Unique to the enerG model is that in addition to benefiting from selling the hardware and doing the install, the integrator receives a commission from enerG for each month the homeowner’s system is active. enerG manages the monthly billing to the homeowner. The company plans to drive new sales and installation opportunities to the integrator by way of marketing back to the homeowner.

”With a nationwide presence, and the group’s demonstrated ability to expertly communicate the benefits of our solutions, the Catalyst AV Network gives enerG a solid infrastructure in which to gain access to an experienced base of dealers that have established relationships with end-users,” says enerG President Greg Brett. “And like us, the Catalyst group is driven to bringing something new and sustainable to dealers, so there’s tremendous synergy here.”

Home Awareness and Energy Management Company enerG Launches at 2013 CEDIA Expo

Easy-to-sell and install, Z-Wave-based home awareness and energy management system provides integrators with an excellent hardware margin and lucrative recurring monthly revenue

BURLINGTON, MA – August 30, 2013 – Home awareness and energy management brand enerG Corp. is tapping the 2013 CEDIA Expo to make its channel debut (Expo booth #428). The company’s Home Awareness System (utilizing the Z-Wave platform) allows homeowners to control, customize, and automate all connected devices in the home and receive important system notifications on their Android and iOS devices.

The enerG starter package consists of a gateway hub, a thermostat and two smart enerG switches at an MSRP of $429, with additional fees for integrators’ installation and enerG’s monthly service plan (starts at $29.99). The system can easily be expanded to include lighting control, garage door access, keyless entry and wireless HD viewing.

Homeowners manage the operation of their connected devices at the enerGhome.com portal. There they can monitor how much energy has been consumed by device and the whole house in both watts and dollars based on their specific utility provider. This allows them to set energy goals, and accordingly, make adjustments to improve consumption.

The company’s mobile app mirrors the portal, making the system readily available on the go. For example, the homeowner can monitor energy usage, adjust thermostats and view video from the app, even opting to select and view multiple locations.

For even greater home control, the system incorporates Geo-Fencing, a technology that makes it possible for the homeowner to define rules or to adjust settings when people leave or approach the home (for example automatically adjusting HD-viewing or temperature, etc.). The technology uses GPS in the homeowner’s smartphone to trigger the settings.

Hardware
The enerG system is scalable and affordable. The pre-packaged systems are as follows:
• $429 MSRP Starter Package (gateway hub, thermostat and 2 smart enerG switches)
• $599 MSRP Connected Home Package (adds lighting and whole house smart meter)
• $1,299 MSRP Home Awareness Package(adds HD Viewing & Cloud based services up to 4 terabytes of recording & viewing video)
• $1,499 Home Awareness Plus Package (adds keyless entry)

Additionally, as many like products as desired can be added to the corresponding enerG package for no additional service fee.

Software
In addition to the hardware and installation costs paid to the integrator, the homeowner remits a service fee to enerG each month to access the system. The fees start at:
• $29.99 per month (Starter and Connected Home Packages)
• $39.99 per month (Home Awareness, and Home Awareness Package Plus)

The integrator receives a commission from enerG each month the system is active.

“We are trying to change the way integrators bring products to the end-user,” says enerG President Greg Brett. “Until now, recurring revenue service (RMR) offerings were only available through security-based systems and maintenance contracts. We found a way to bring to market a range of offerings that customers want and create a RMR stream for the integrator in doing so. This is a complete solution where the integrator makes profit on the product, the installation and the services. enerG provides the software platform, takes care of the monthly billing and markets back to the end-user to help the integrator get back into the home for new opportunities.”

“This type of product line is what our dealers need to expand their base of business,” says Steve Presti of Easy Access Distribution, a New England enerG distributor. “We have done a soft launch of the product in July and dealers have really embraced it. The packages offered are easily sold and have multiple add-on possibilities when specifying a system for a home or small business.”

ICE Cable’s “Big Mouth Payout” Bulk Cable Box Saves Integrators Time and Money

Proprietary cable-wind, massive pay-out hole and heavily reinforced box eliminates headaches caused by common “fall-apart” boxes and tangled cable messes

Los Angeles, CA – August 21, 2013 – ICE Cable Systems (2013 CEDIA Expo booth #1552) — which serves integrators both directly and via more than 50 distributors in North America and internationally – is now shipping its new Big Mouth Payout (BMP) bulk wire & cable box. BMP incorporates four distinct design advantages that help the integrator run more efficiently on the jobsite.

4-inch payout hole and proprietary winding pattern
The BMP box combines a 4-inch payout hole with a proprietary cable-winding pattern. According to ICE president Brian Rizzo, the payout is more than twenty times larger than what’s currently available on the market today. “Our payout and wind pattern help eliminate everyday pull-problems like kinking, knotting, recoil and tangling. Removing these obstacles makes a one-man wire pull — for example from atop a ladder — significantly easier,” says Rizzo.

Ascending and descending foot-markers
Incorporated on the cable jackets are ascending and descending foot-markers which make it effortless for the integrator to identify how much cable has been used and how much remains. The result is optimal usage of the entire wind and the elimination of scrap; it also solves the common problem of tracking usage which according to Rizzo can often be difficult when more than one technician pulls from the same box.

Ultra-durable, weather resistant cardboard box with reinforced handles
To withstand abuse on the jobsite, the BMP box is comprised of an extremely durable water resistant cardboard along with dual-layer reinforced handles. According to Rizzo the cardboard is burst-tested to withstand 21 kilograms of force which far surpasses what is currently available in the channel today.

”BMP is a great example of ICE Cable’s understanding of what’s important to the integrator,” says Wally Whinna, principal of Allnet Distributing and board member of the Catalyst AV network, which distributes ICE Cable nationally. “Advantages like this make it easier for integrators to finish their pre-wire jobs faster and with less hassle.”

All box cables (category, speaker, coax, alarm, control, etc.) by ICE ship in a BMP box, many of which are available in runs as long as 1,000 feet.
