Portland, OR – January 28, 2014 – Triad Speakers, Inc. is now shipping its Nano OnWall LCR 3.0, a
3-channels-in-1 passive loudspeaker system (soundbar) for today’s ultra-slim TVs. The company’s thinnest soundbar to date, Nano measures 1.6-inches deep (including grille) by 3.25 inches high and is available in both custom widths and paint finishes. MSRP begins at $1,200. Standard accessories include Triad’s EZ Mount Bracket and brackets to mount directly to the TV.

Triad’s soundbar line consists of 10 models at varying levels of performance and sizes to complement most every TV available today. According to Triad Speakers Marketing Manager Paul Teixeira, it was the lackluster sound of today’s ultra-slim TVs that prompted the company to engineer a speaker that could maintain the sleek look of the TVs, yet provide robust performance.

The Nano LCR 3.0 incorporates 6 specially-designed Scan-Speak drivers and 3 soft dome SB tweeters in a fully-damped and braced aluminum enclosure, all of which was a major challenge from such a compact enclosure. The Nano LCR 3.0 represents the first of a new series of ultra-compact soundbars from Triad that utilizes this new design process using extruded aluminum. IC Realtime Embraces UL’s 2802 Performance Testing Standard for Camera Image Quality

In the works for more than two years — and released last September — the new standard defines a method to assess video image quality through a series of performance based tests that are conducted on production digital cameras.

Cameras are rated (on a scale of 0 thru 100) on the following parameters: image resolution; distortion; relative illumination; dynamic range; maximum frame rate; gray level; sensitivity; bad pixel count and veiling glare.

”A standard for testing camera performance is crucial in keeping everyone’s claims honest,” says
IC Realtime CEO Matt Sailor, adding “For years IC Realtime’s test labs have been evaluating competitor’s cameras and the amount of deception that we’ve witnessed would blow your mind! I mean cameras that come no where even close to what manufacturer’s state as specifications. It’s truly unfair to the end-user and in the end the integrator’s reputation is put in jeopardy.”

Sailor cautions manufacturers “If you want to compete in my marketplace you’d better follow through and have UL certify your camera’s performance.”

To help create the UL 2802 standard, IC Realtime worked closely with UL, including submitting its B-2000 2-MegaPixel IP Bullet camera to use as part of the testing development process. According to UL, the camera achieved high scores on many of the performance tests, with a certification and the results expected to be published shortly.

170 Integrators Attend New England’s Emerging Technologies & Home Awareness Expo

Burlington, MA – Last month, Easy Access Distribution – the New England chapter of Catalyst AV distribution network — hosted their 14th annual Emerging Technologies & Home Awareness Expo at the Billerica Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. In total, 170 local integrators attended the 2-day event.

Pioneer Music Company Buses 20 Integration Firms to CEDIA 2013 Expo

Lenexa, Kansas – October 9, 2013 – Custom channel distributor Pioneer Music Company — a member of the Catalyst AV Distribution Network that covers the Plains states -– orchestrated a “field trip” to take 20 integration companies to CEDIA Expo in Denver last month by luxury bus.

“I was the one who came up with the idea and organized it,” says David Allen of Pioneer Music Company. “The idea was conceptualized due to the fact that there were quite a few of our “top” accounts that were not going to CEDIA for one reason or another. We felt that if we could organize easy transportation and accommodations for these dealers, that they should be able to afford to take the time off. 20 companies in total, 40 attendees. 31 of the attendees took the 22 hour (2-

Many of them had to drive a ways to get to KC. 10 of the attendees (6 companies) had never been to CEDIA before. 14 of the attendees (10 companies) would have not went to CEDIA had we not arranged this trip. We got some new exposure for the industry and some good education for the attendees.”

The terms of the field trip attendance were that attendees must visit each one of the trip’s sponsors booths (8 total booth visits) and main trip sponsors had one attendee from each company in a manufacturer product training class.

The main field trip sponsors were as follows Atlona, CORE Brands, ICE Cable, URC, and Vivitek. The secondary sponsors were Definitive Technology, IC Realtime, Mitsubishi, and Yamaha.

”The Cedia field trip with PMC took the stress travel of and planning out of my hands and allowed me to focus more on the show itself. I also enjoyed touring the PMC Kansas City location and meeting the people in person that we speak to on the phone. This trip strengthened my relationship with PMC and their manufacturers and I hope we can do it again,” said Levi Angst, of Integration Excellence, located in Lebanon, MO.

“We had the opportunity to go to an event that we did not know about and would not have gone to otherwise,” said Tom Alexander of Elite Home Audio, located in Tiffin, Iowa. “It was a great learning experience and gave us a lot more options as far as sales to our customers which in turn makes our business more money. This is a great event and everyone in the A/V industry should go.”
