At IBC 2013, DVEO to Demonstrate “DOZER” IP Video Traffic Shaping Technology for Optimal Video Over Public Internet

 DOZERbox IP IP

DOZERbox IP IP

San Diego, California — DVEO, the broadcast division of Computer Modules, Inc. (CMI), will demonstrate their IP video traffic shaping technology at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam, September 13-17, at Stand 2.A34. The technology is available in a system as the DOZERbox IP IP™, and as a software license — the Media Dozer: LIC™.

In most regions of the world, public internet infrastructure is not reliable and drops video packets. Public routers do not prioritize video traffic well enough. The DOZERbox and Media Dozer: LIC route video through the public internet in a unique way. They “bulldoze” through slow and congested routers and allow IPTV operators and Over The Top video providers to improve their video distribution — by enabling smooth low delay, high definition, and adaptive video streaming.

The DOZERbox and Media Dozer: LIC offer dependable distribution of MPEG-2 or H.264 SPTS or MPTS transport streams over average quality internet backbones. Typically sold in pairs, the DOZERbox gateways are more cost effective than private point to point internet connections and stream through most firewalls. The Media Dozer: LIC application software is available as an add-on for DVEO’s encoder and gateway appliances, including the Proxicaster™, MultiStreamer™, MPEG Gearbox™, MultiStreamer Brutus™, MPEG Magnus™, and D-Streamer™ product lines. It is also available as a license for customers’ own devices.

“This technology is ideal for CDNs, broadcasters, mobile operators, and telcos who deploy critical UDP streams across the public internet with the goal to be competitive,” stated Laszlo Zoltan, Sales Manager for DVEO. “Customers in the USA use Dozer technology to import video content from Greece, Iraq, Colombia, and Bangladesh – with no packet loss or video freezes, and lower latency.”

When Media Dozer: LIC is added to DVEO systems such as the MultiStreamer™ encoder or MPEG Magnus™ transcoder, the original content can be encoded or transcoded and converted to different IP protocols such as RTMP, RTSP, HLS, etc., before it is processed by the Media Dozer: LIC application.

When video will be transmitted and received from the same location, two separate systems are recommended for transmitting and receiving, for optimum video streaming.

    Mamba DIG/IP Portable Streamer-Encoder

Portable SDI/HD-SDI to IP Streamer/ Encoder with Touch Panel Control – Mamba DIG/IP

New Mamba DIG/IP™ Encoder will be Featured at IBC 2013, is Ideal for Electronic News Gathering and Live Streaming

San Diego, California — August 12, 2013 — DVEO, the broadcast division of Computer Modules, Inc. (CMI), is now shipping their new live portable light weight HD-SDI to IP streaming appliance with HD-SDI in that delivers content to iPads, laptops, OTT televisions, and mobile devices via IP. DVEO will debut the new system at Stand 2.A34 at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam, September 13-17.

The Mamba DIG/IP™ is only 12.25 inches long and 8.25 inches wide. It connects to two simultaneous uncompressed SDI or HD-SDI video inputs from cameras, editing systems, or video servers, and supports simultaneous IP input. Optional versions are available for a single HDMI input or 4 analog (composite) inputs, instead of SDI/HD-SDI inputs.

The device can create multiple simultaneous high, medium, and low bitrate H.264 HD or SD IP streams and sends them to smart phones, tablets, and content delivery networks (CDNs). It outputs two 1080i/p streams, or one 1080 i/p and one 720p HD stream, or six SD streams. The IP transport streams can be provided with most industry standard protocols, including UDP, RTP, or IGMP, and wrappers such as HLS, RTMP, RTSP, etc.

The Mamba DIG/IP features an LCD touch screen for monitoring and front panel controls. An easy-to-use management interface is used for setup and configuration and can be run from anywhere via the public internet. Different configurations can be saved at any time. Remote management (SNMP, REST or SOAP) and multi level security are built in.

“The new Mamba DIG/IP combines portability and ease of use with true HD video quality, 24×7, for webcasting and streaming,” stated Scott Grizzle, Product Manager for DVEO. “We recommend it for electronic news gathering, streaming live video from events, concerts, sporting events, corporate training, and religious services. The Mamba is designed for a solo webcast/streaming engineer to show up to an event and grab a video or source feed. Once they have the feed they can use the front panel to change the IP address and destination and start and stop the streams. For the full blown capabilities the user can log in remotely and customize more. This allows one webcast engineer to control multiple machines and customize for optimal delivery. So in all actuality, the unit could be shipped to a live event preconfigured and anyone can make onsite changes while not changing the overall delivery.”

The system is also available with HDMI or composite input instead of HD-SDI input. Another option is DVEO’s built-in Live+Anytime Server™ live media distribution server.

Audio output is AAC, Ogg Vorbis, optional MP3, optional MPEG-1 Layer II, or optional “SurCode for Dolby Digital” AC-3. Supported resolutions include qHD, H.264up, QCIF, QVGA, CIF, 480i, 480p, 576i, 720p, or any custom size up to 1080p.

San Diego, California — February 15, 2013 — DVEO, the broadcast division of CMI, will introduce their new enterprise class EAS (Emergency Alert System), video splicer, and graphics inserter at the HPA (Hollywood Post Alliance) Tech Retreat for post production professionals. The retreat will be held in Rancho Mirage, California, from February 18 to February 22.

The broadcast quality, high density, Ad Serter Telco IP/IP 20ch™ will also be demonstrated at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show in Las Vegas, April 8-11 in Las Vegas, Nevada, at booth SU6505.

The Ad Serter Telco IP/IP 20ch inserts or overlays video, graphical ads, writable slates, logos, graphics, CG, scrolling text, and emergency alerts into video feeds on a schedule or via signaling like SCTE-35. The Windows® based system adds images or text anywhere on the SD or HD live stream with any degree of transparency.

The blade system simultaneously processes up to 20 SD streams, or ten 720p streams, or eight 1080p streams. It selects transport streams by program numbers or PIDs. The system is designed for IP content aggregators, broadcasters, and cable or mobile companies who create and originate content and wish to add branding to their content with various triggers. It is ideal for inserting video or superpositioning targeted ads, emergency alerts, RSS feeds, or banner ads on mobile services. Easy drag and drop placement positions logos, text, or graphics on screen. Ads can be spliced into a live stream or overlaid anywhere on H.264 or MPEG-2 video content. The system keeps tracks of ads served.

The Ad Serter Telco IP/IP 20ch also creates crawling messages and emergency alerts with programmable fonts and background colors, in any language.
