Broadcast Pix Enhances Granite HD Live Video Production Systems with Version 2.0 Software and New 500 Control Panel

Slate Hybrid System Also Enhanced with Version 8.5 Software and 500 Panel

Billerica, Massachusetts – Broadcast Pix™ today introduced Granite™ 2.0 and Slate™ 8.5 software, as well as two new live video production systems, Granite 500 and Slate 500, which feature a new compact control panel. Granite 2.0 adds playlists, ProRes clips and QuickTime Animation playback, offers an enhanced Harris CG and an optional Chyron CG, improves chromakey and key priority controls, and provides remote control of streaming appliances. Slate 8.5 also provides many of these same improvements.

DREWRY COMMUNICATIONS GROUP STATIONS STANDARDIZE ON JVC PROHD CAMERAS FOR ENG

KFDA Is First Station in Group to Launch Local HD Newscast

WAYNE, NJ – JVC Professional Products Company, a division of JVC Americas Corp., today announced that Lawton, Okla.-based Drewry Communications Group has standardized on JVC ProHD cameras for electronic newsgathering (ENG) for all five of its television stations.

On Feb. 23, KFDA-TV, the Drewry CBS affiliate serving Amarillo, Texas (DMA #131), was the first station in the group to launch its local newscast in HD. Brent McClure, KFDA general manager, said the station is using seven GY-HM790U cameras in the field for local news and sports coverage.

T-VIPS TVG450 JPEG2000 Video Gateway transmits the world’s first live 3D opera transmission over fibre in Stockholm

Oslo, Norway – T-VIPS, a global leader in professional video contribution and distribution solutions, announced that its TVG450 JPEG2000 Video Gateway helped make possible the live 3D transmission of Gounod’s Faust from Stockholm’s Folkoperan opera house to the city’s Filmhuset digital cinema. The event was produced by Public Live AB, and T-VIPS’ transport solution was chosen by technology provider TwentyFourSeven. Prominent guests at the live 3D opera premiere, included Sweden’s Minister of Culture Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth and the Mayor of Stockholm, Sten Nordin.
