ADVANCED SYSTEMS GROUP AND DOLBY LABORATORIES ADDRESS 3D WORKFLOW ISSUES AT CONFERENCE

EMERYVILLE, CALIF. – In conjunction with Dolby Laboratories, Advanced Systems Group (ASG), a leading West Coast video and film integration firm, presented “3D Workflow 2010? last week at the Dolby Theater in San Francisco. The free daylong event included several conference sessions that addressed a variety of 3D production issues from acquisition to delivery.

“This was our second year with a 3D focus for our end-of-year workshop, and we had another full house,? said Dave Van Hoy, president of ASG. “Film and video professionals are still trying to develop 3D workflows that are cost effective and techniques that deliver excellent images to audiences. LITTLE ROCK FOX AFFILIATE KLRT ADOPTS JVC PROHD CAMERAS FOR STUDIO, ENG USE

WAYNE, NJ – JVC Professional Products Company today announced that KLRT, the FOX affiliate in Little Rock, Ark., has adopted JVC ProHD cameras for studio and ENG use. The Newport Television station, which serves the Little Rock-Pine Bluff market (DMA #56), purchased four GY-HD250Us to replace Thomson LDK 1707s as its main studio cameras for daily newscasts, as well as eight GY-HM700U cameras for ENG use. FOX16 News went live with its new studio cameras yesterday, and has been using its new GY-HM700s in the field since August.

NEW PSALMIST BAPTIST CHURCH INSTALLS FIVE HITACHI Z-HD5000 MULTIFORMAT HD CAMERAS

WOODBURY, NEW YORK – New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD recently installed five new Hitachi Z-HD5000 multi-format HD cameras within the 4,000-seat main sanctuary of its new multi-million-dollar worship center, known as The Holy City of Zion.

Besides enhancing the worship experience for churchgoers, the high-def video is used to produce “The Empowering Disciples Broadcast,? a highly rated, half-hour religious HDTV program produced weekly for over-the-air broadcast on WJZ-TV, the CBS affiliate in Baltimore.

WXYZ DETROIT ADDS JVC GY-HM790 CAMERAS TO MAIN STUDIO

WAYNE, NJ – JVC Professional Products Company today announced that WXYZ, the ABC affiliate in Detroit (DMA #11), has purchased two JVC GY-HM790 ProHD cameras for its main studio. The flagship station of the Scripps TV Station Group, WXYZ began using the cameras alongside its Thomson HD cameras last month.

Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago Upgrades In-House TV Station with Broadcast Pix

Billerica, Massachusetts – The Family Life Center on the fifth floor of Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago provides a place for patients and their families to relax, play, and socialize. It also doubles as a television studio for Skylight TV, the hospital’s in-house television channel, which recently upgraded its production capabilities with a Broadcast Pix™ Slate™ 1000 live video production system.

Producer Rene Roy said the center has served as studio space for Skylight TV for more than 10 years. CORNERSTONE CHURCH GOES MULTI-CAMPUS WITH FOR-A HVS-300HS HD/SD DIGITAL VIDEO SWITCHER

CYPRESS, CALIF. – Cornerstone Community Church in Orangeburg, SC installed the FOR-A HVS-300HS HD/SD Digital Video Switcher this past spring to facilitate video production across the church’s new satellite campuses. WYOMING PBS UPGRADES SATELLITE TRUCK WITH FOUR HITACHI MULTIFORMAT HD CAMERAS

WOODBURY, NEW YORK – Wyoming PBS purchased four Hitachi SK-HD1000 multi-format HDTV cameras as part of the planned upgrade of its 32-foot digital production truck equipped with a 2.4-meter Ku-Band satellite uplink dish. The truck travels across the state, producing multi-camera remote video productions, such as sessions of the Wyoming State Legislature in Cheyenne, political debates, and sporting events. Also known as KCWC-DT, Wyoming PBS is located on the campus of Central Wyoming College in Riverton, WY.
