RTV Chooses T-VIPS IP Video Transport Solutions for Slovenia’s Terrestrial Digital Switchover Project

Oslo, Norway – T-VIPS, a global leader in professional video contribution and distribution solutions, today announces that its TVG420 ASI to IP gateway has been chosen by RTV Slovenia to distribute Digital Terrestrial programming from the RTV media centre to 13 transmitter sites throughout Slovenia. The choice of the TVG420 enables RTV to deploy ASI in the studio and for final transmission, while taking advantage of cost-effective and flexible IP networks for transport to the transmitters. The Digital Switchover (DSO) project will go live in 2011.

DP BOB POOLE CAPTURES DRAMATIC FOOTAGE IN AFRICA FOR “GREAT MIGRATIONS? WITH FUJINON HD LENSES

WAYNE, N.J. – As a principal cinematographer on four episodes of the acclaimed National Geographic series, “Great Migrations,? KARK-TV LITTLE ROCK SELECTS JVC GY-HM790U PROHD CAMERAS FOR STUDIO

WAYNE, NJ – JVC Professional Products Company today announced that KARK-TV, the NBC affiliate in Little Rock, Ark., has purchased three JVC GY-HM790U ProHD cameras for production of its local newscasts. The Nexstar Broadcasting station, which serves the Little Rock-Pine Bluff market (DMA #56), has been using the cameras in its main studio daily since June. While the new JVC cameras, which replaced BTS LDK-91 units, are currently being used for SD production, the station is expected to move to HD production in early 2011.

GERMANTOWN COMMUNITY TELEVISION IN MEMPHIS INSTALLS FOUR NEW HITACHI SK-HD1000 MULTIFORMAT HDTV STUDIO CAMERAS

WOODBURY, NEW YORK – Germantown Community Television recently installed four new Hitachi SK-HD1000 multi-format HDTV studio cameras in an effort to improve picture quality and lay the groundwork for an eventual transition to high-definition. Known as GHS-TV, Germantown Community Television is based at Germantown High School in Germantown, TN, a suburb of Memphis.

The studio facility supports the high school’s Production Workshop program, which teaches basic and advanced broadcast television skills. The program’s 75 students produce over 740 hours of public affairs programming annually for broadcast on Memphis stations, including Germantown Community Television (Comcast Channel 17), WPXX-TV (Ion Media Channel 50), and WMC-TV (NBC-5).

WASHINGTON REDSKINS UPGRADE TO HD AT FEDEXFIELD WITH FUJINON HA AND XA SERIES LENSES

WAYNE, N.J. – Home to the NFL’s Washington Redskins, FedExField in Prince George’s County, Md., received a comprehensive upgrade to high definition production for the 2010-2011 football season. As part of the upgrade, the arena features three new Sony HSC300K cameras paired with Fujinon lenses: the HA23X7.6BERM Premier Series HD ENG-style telephoto, XA50X9.5BESM HD box-style telephoto with 2X extender, and XA76X9.3BESM HD telephoto.

Cameras are placed at various points around the venue to provide a total stadium experience. The new system enables the stadium’s control room to originate HD programming and transmit the signals to new HD LED video displays and stadium-wide video distribution systems. SANTA ANA COLLEGE INSTALLS NEWLY INTRODUCED, ROBUST, AND EASY-TO-USE FOR-A CHARACTER GENERATOR

ABC DISNEY’S ‘DETROIT 1-8-7’ KEEPS IT REAL WITH FUJINON LENSES PROVIDED BY FLETCHER CAMERA AND LENSES

WAYNE, N.J. – On ABC Disney, Detroit 1-8-7 is a scripted police drama that captures the essence of reality police shows like Cops or The First 48 with spontaneity and grit. With that visual goal in mind, Director of Photography Lisa Wiegand worked with Fletcher Camera and Lenses, a rental house in Chicago, to assemble just the right Fujinon ENG lens package. HA13X4.5BERM HD ENG wide angle lens with 2x extender, HA20x7.5BERM HD telephoto lens, and HA22x7.3BERM HD ENG/EFP lens were selected for use on Panasonic VariCam 3700 P2 HD camcorders.
