What with the fuel price rising nearly everyday, it‘s a surprise more people aren‘t trading their engine-powered boats for a wind-powered one. Mike Borne, a good friend of DiGiCo, still has his boat, but he sacrificed upgrading to a bigger boat, in favour of spending its money on two new DiGiCo consoles.
Borne set-up Allstar Audio Systems Inc., a full-service sound, lighting, video and staging company, back in 1984. Since then, the Tennessee and Florida-based venture has been adding to its inventory as often as possible and recently supplemented his existing DiGiCo stock with the extra consoles. more

The New Year brings a new Canadian distributor for UK loudspeaker manufacturer, Turbosound. The appointment, which takes effect January 1, 2008, will see Erikson Pro taking charge of Turbosound‘s interests in the region, a task it is well positioned to handle.
“Erikson Pro has over 25 years experience in the industry,” says Turbosound‘s managing director, Simon Blackwood. “They handle a number of powerful complementary brands and being a division of JAM Industries Limited which owns our US distributor, American Music & Sound, this will make for a coordinated approach across the American continent.” more

When evergreen, gravel-throated singer Joe Cocker set out on his current European arena tour, he and his band knew they‘d have the ultimate sound quality in their monitors, thanks ten XTA DP324 SiDD processors in monitor engineer Niall Slevin‘s rack.

“I come from the analogue age and I‘m still not convinced that digital sound is better than analogue,” says Niall. “But I‘m happy to use digital consoles because digital brings so much to the table. The possibilities are extraordinary and I believe the opportunity has to be grabbed.” more

Marking the middle of a world tour in support of his third album, ‘Call Me Irresponsible‘, Canadian crooner Michael Bublé played eight UK arena shows in November and December. Accompanying monitor engineer Craig Brittain was the latest member of the touring entourage – a DiGiCo D5 Live console. more

Dave Bracey is certainly no stranger to the DiGiCo D5 Live digital mixing console, having used it on his tours of duty with Robbie Williams since it was first launched back in 2002. With that in mind, there can be few better people to give Version 4 software a very thorough road test. This he has duly been doing on Grammy nominated Mika‘s Live in Cartoon Motion tour, where he is utilising the D5 for both mixing and recording each show, the latter of which he is doing on this occasion via MADI to a Metacorder. As part of a world tour to promote their latest album Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace, Foo Fighters undertook a nine date UK arena tour in November, culminating in two dates at the London 02 Arena.
Fronted by the irrepressible Dave Grohl, the band provided maximum entertainment via a complex live show, which included two stages. In order to cope with the ensuing Front of House audio requirements of the show, a pair of DiGiCo D5 consoles were put to use. more

With the opening of nightclub Sammy‘s on 2nd November, clubbers in the Lincolnshire town of Sleaford are now enjoying superior sound quality on their nights out, thanks to Sussex-based installation specialists Blucat‘s choice of Turbosound Aspect® products for the project.
Sammy‘s is the second major Aspect club installation that Blucat has undertaken in 2007, the first being the Honey nightclub in the north Wales resort of Rhyl, which opened earlier in the year. more
