Occupational and Personal Safety

It addresses a wide range of safety topics from general manufacturing safety, accident prevention and reporting, safe lifting reminders and other workplace topics to personal safety topics such as child and vehicle safety and home security.texting safety background

“This new free digital signage Safety Library complements our Environmental and Health/Wellness libraries by extending our corporate responsibility communications offerings for StrandVision customers,” said StrandVision founder and CEO Mike Strand.” We’ve found that many of our customers want this kind of information and have been searching for a convenient way to communicate safety topics. The Library provides an easy, efficient way for our customers to add these important safety topics to their digital signage mix. It’s a perfect addition for manufacturers and other companies that track and post safety information such as days without reportable incidents. It all fits in together to motivate the viewers to improve overall safety of the business, school or organization.”

The Communications Library offers eye-catching pages with animation that can become an integral part of their overall safety communications campaign with virtually no effort. Each page consists of an attractive graphic and a short, animated text message on the topic. The pages are set to random animation sequences and are added into the customer’s normal digital signage page mix with a single click to http://www.svds.co/?installimage&e=1&i=LB4FXUL4KYHM2OSLTUM9YU42726D.

Administrators simply select the Safety category on their StrandVision Content Management System (CMS) portal. The StrandVision system randomly selects from among the 50 safety subjects and automatically mixes the selections with one of several animation sequences and inserts a different subject/animation combination on each pass of the page loop.

StrandVision Animated Template Library Program

The StrandVision Animated Template Communications Library covers 15 themes from diversity and ethics, to safety and morale, quality and time management, spanning hundreds of specific subjects. Designed for both employee communication and general public audiences, the Communications Campaign Library motivates, educates and informs digital signage viewers while demonstrating the customer organization’s commitment to worthwhile personal and corporate initiatives.

The animated templates can be displayed in full-screen or in-frame formats. Administrators can easily define frequency and change default settings, such as scroll speed, and other functions, such as scheduling and expiration, to meet the needs of their particular display environments. The Safety Library can also be combined with the growing list of previously introduced StrandVision Communications Library offerings.

The variety of subjects, combined with the randomly assigned animations, creates a dynamic presentation that keeps people focused on the digital media player screens long after the campaign page plays.

Safety Communications Campaign Library template pages are available immediately at no charge to all StrandVision Digital Signage subscribers, as well as StrandVision Free Digital Signage Test Drive participants. StrandVision Digital Signage Introduces Dynamic Electronic Signage Page Sharing

Digital Signage Content Sharing capability allows easy, efficient distribution of dynamic digital sign content across multi-site corporate and franchise electronic signage networks…

MENOMONIE, Wis. – Oct. 08, 2014 – StrandVision Digital Signage today introduced a new way for electronic signage administrators to share specific electronic signage content over multiple digital signage players across their network. The feature is especially handy for multiple site installations, corporations and franchises that want to share single or multiple content pages that can optionally be displayed on their local networks.

For instance, a fast food chain that is offering an opt-in price promotion to its franchisees can distribute optional StrandVision Digital Signage promotion pages for local management to use for its in-store advertising; a company with multiple sites can offer a selection of employee benefit, safety, motivational or other employee communication digital signage messaging to its divisions for addition to local digital signage networks at the discretion of local management. Once the page is copied as designed by the sender, it can be further customized to the individual location, as desired.

“StrandVision has long offered the ability for top-level administrators to automatically distribute pages, including videos directly to sub-networks across their corporate and local networks,” explained StrandVision founder and CEO, Mike Strand. “This new level of local control and flexibility provides a quick and easy way for local administrators to optionally add customized corporate content to their digital signage networks with a single click. And it’s not just for what is shown on the digital signage player. The page sharing feature includes all background settings so dynamic information is displayed and scheduled to play exactly as designed on the original.”

Here’s How It Works

Now, when StrandVision Digital Signage administrators create any type of page on the StrandVision Content Management System (CMS) portal a unique URL is automatically created and placed in the ”Share Page Link” field on the page creation form. The administrator simply copies the URL and sends it to recipients in an email, phone message, Tweet or through other social media.

The recipients simply click on the URL. That takes them to the StrandVision cloud server where they log into their account on the StrandVision CMS portal and the new page is automatically copied to the local mix where it can be further edited or reordered, as desired. Shared pages support dynamic visitor or employee communication information such as changing images and scrolling text, and can include RSS feeds, audio, video, animation, Web feeds, Quick Response (QR) codes and other dynamic information sources such as automatic birthday and anniversary people displays and live corporate database access.

The shared page also includes all other metadata, including background media, scheduling (frequency, automatic removal date) and other administrative instructions.

The Share Pages feature is available immediately to all StrandVision Digital Signage subscribers, as well as StrandVision Free Digital Signage Test Drive participants. Learn more by checking out the introductory YouTube video at http://www.strandvision.com/video_digital_signage_content_sharing.html or calling 715-235-7446 or emailing sales at StrandVision.com.

StrandVision Signage Offers Quick and Easy Way to Add “People” Pages to Electronic Signage Content Mix

Simple to add and update employee, associate, member and visitor recognition pages with photos…

MENOMONIE, Wis. – Aug. 27, 2014 – StrandVision Digital Signage today introduced an enhanced “People” database import capability to enable its subscribers to easily add and edit pages that feature employees, associates, members and visitors using various digital signage reporting options that automatically select and display people based on the birthday or anniversary dates assigned to each person.

The new facility accepts information, including birthday and anniversary dates, descriptive sentences/paragraphs and other information from any data source that can be formatted into comma-separated (.csv) lists. Photos, such as portraits, images submitted by employees, awards or other graphics that include the individual’s ID information in the file name can be bulk uploaded at any time and automatically assigned to the appropriate person.

“We’ve been providing integrated corporate payroll database import services on a custom consulting basis for our large corporate customers for some time,” explained Mike Strand, StrandVision founder and CEO. “Now we’ve extended the import capability at no cost to our entire user base. Anyone who has employee, member or other people information in a spreadsheet or other database system can export to the appropriate format and automatically create customized digital signage content pages to enhance employee communications by featuring major milestones as defined in the database.”

From Databases to Spreadsheets and Lists

Now, information from large corporate databases, small business accounting systems, Excel and other programs, including properly formatted mobile contact lists, can be easily imported and updated in the StrandVision digital signage system on an ad hoc or scheduled basis. Individual people can also be added or edited through the system for minor changes.

The new People capability has already been added as a selection on StrandVision’s Content Management System (CMS) portal. Subscribers simply log into their accounts and make the People database changes under the “Your Account” tab, adding a “People Database” page type to their page mix and selecting the appropriate report type and selection time period. Data changes to the source database/document are easily updated on the digital signage display pages.

StrandVision continues to offer data integration consulting services for totally automated updates from payroll or other corporate systems.

StrandVision Introduces Digital Signage Content Highlighting with New Page Border Feature

Color-coded border calls attention to new and updated pages, photos and text…

MENOMONIE, Wis. – Aug. 13, 2014 – StrandVision Digital Signage today announced a visitor and employee communication enhancement that highlights new pages and updates to existing pages with color-coded borders in order to alert viewers that new digital signage content is being displayed. The user-configurable feature is available at no cost to all StrandVision Digital Signage subscribers, as well as free digital signage test drive participants.

“Keeping electronic signage content updated and fresh is the best way to engage viewers,” commented Mike Strand, StrandVision founder and CEO. “For those companies with minimum posting time policies or limited administration time, some of our subscribers suggested that we develop a way to highlight new digital signage content to alert their viewers that they were seeing something for the first time. We developed the New Content Highlight Border to not only call attention to the new content but gradually fade the color over the user-specified number of days or hours.“

The feature automatically adds a red New Content Highlight Border to the pages and/or frames when additions or changes are made to the digital signage page mix; the border fades through to yellow and then disappears after three days under the default setting. Subscriber administrators at the Intermediate or Advanced levels can disable the feature or change their default New Content Highlight Time setting to a number of interim times ranging from one-half hour up to two weeks.

Three Levels of Control

StrandVision’s Content Management System (CMS) portal offers three user levels – Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced – that vary the number of choices presented to the administrators as they post pages, graphics and text. This approach provides a comfortable experience for new users enabling them to easily and quickly publish attractive, impactful digital signage.

As they become more experienced using StrandVision’s portal they can change their level in order to be presented with additional design choices that offer them more flexibility and control over the digital signage presentation. For instance, Advanced users can control text (reading) speed, page transitions and other presentation aspects, as well as perform signage monitoring and automatic player reboots. Administrators can change their own levels at any time on the StrandVision portal at no additional cost.

StrandVision Digital Signage Offers Schools Innovative Ways to Reach Students and the Community

A white paper explains how schools can meld cable TV networks with today’s technologies…

MENOMONIE, Wis. – July 15, 2014 – StrandVision Digital Signage today announced innovative ways for schools to revitalize existing cable television infrastructures or install a new digital signage network to deliver electronic signage content to classrooms, cafeterias and other school locations, as well as over Internet, Wi-Fi and other distribution networks.

Outlined in a paper entitled “Put Your Old Cable TV Network to Work Delivering 21st Century Digital Signage Communications” Mike Strand, StrandVision founder & CEO, discusses how to extend digital signage over the Web to students’ and parents’ home and work computers, mobile devices and other alternative distribution options.

The paper reviews how some schools utilize their electronic signage and further describes how digital signage networks with DVD playback capabilities can be used to showcase student projects and productions, and replay sporting and social events. It also outlines how to further engage students using embedded Quick Response (QR) codes to offer trivia contests and other interactive activities for their mobile phones.

“Every day, digital signage becomes more and more of an integrated tool that can add to a school’s communications mix to students, faculty and parents,” commented Strand. “We offer digital signage solutions that make it easy to enhance communications using many mediums, which encourage administrators to explore the boundaries of communications and to think about how students, faculty, parents and the community-at-large like to get their information. Then they can construct an effective delivery system that reaches everyone with up-to-the-minute communications.”

StrandVision Digital Signage Enhances Viewers’ Experiences with Signage Content Trivia Facts and Questions

Extends pre-packaged digital signage content offerings that include news, weather, background music…

MENOMONIE, Wis. – June 25, 2014 – StrandVision Digital Signage today announced that it is adding a new, no-cost, trivia library to its electronic signage offerings. The trivia is organized by topics, such as sports, food, animals, plants, hobbies – scores of different categories – and randomly presented as either “factoid” statements and/or trivia questions.

“We’re offering hundreds of prepared trivia questions and factoids to help make the wait worthwhile for viewers of our customers’ StrandVision Digital Signage networks,” commented Mike Strand, StrandVision founder and CEO. “These little mind game diversions engage viewers, draw the StrandVision Digital Signage presentations into conversations of waiting customers or employees and enhance overall message delivery.”

Factoid or Trivia

StrandVision customers can add trivia pages to their electronic signage mix with a few clicks. Administrators simply select the presentation format and topics to display and StrandVision cloud servers handle the rest. The trivia is presented as either a statement or as a multiple choice question that offers the answers and then, every few seconds, removes one of the incorrect answers until only the correct response is ultimately displayed. The trivia pages are interspersed with the regular signage content according to an administrator-defined frequency. Topics and formats can easily be added or changed at any time.

*The correct answer is C.

This free digital signage trivia feature joins a number of StrandVision-provided content streams that add to the digital signage viewing experience. Other content streams include: background music, famous artwork, news and weather with radar, as well as industry-specific feeds, such as banking videos. StrandVision Digital Signage also accepts and processes customer-specified Web pages and RSS feeds to offer virtually unlimited information sources.

“We’re having fun with this one by learning lots of new random things to babble about at the retirement home. We’re sure that our subscribers and their viewers will enjoy it too – although they stand the risk of being the know-it-all at cocktail parties,” joked Strand.

The no-cost trivia pages are available immediately to StrandVision subscribers. The feature has been added as a new page type in the “Modify Pages” section of their Content Management System (CMS) portal.

StrandVision Digital Signage Extends its Electronic Digital Media Player to Screensavers and Websites

Electronic signage content can be quickly added to Internet and intranet websites as either a home page or as a dynamic, constantly-updated embedded frame…

MENOMONIE, Wis. – June 10, 2014 – StrandVision Digital Signage today announced four display options that extend its electronic signage to companies’ and organizations’ Web and internal computer networks, including tablet and cell phone screens.

Optimized for both employee and external communication, the Web extensions take advantage of StrandVision’s cloud service to enable StrandVision Digital Signage customers to extend their electronic signage programming to additional digital media outlets.

Using simple copy and paste applets, administrators can insert dynamic up-to-the-minute information in websites, emails or social media sites without having to constantly load new Web pages. Subscribers can show the same text, images, weather and news that run on their regular StrandVision Digital Signage displays in their corporate lobbies or employee break rooms, or independently show a completely different set of pages over the Web.

Each of these options facilitates employee communication and business marketing messaging. They bring important messaging directly to employees’ offices and mobile systems – even reaching associates who seldom or never visit office locations. The Web extensions can also reach customers and prospects with timely, easily updated messaging.

“These features are great ways to increase communication timeliness, consistency and efficiency both internally and with external audiences,” said Mike Strand, StrandVision founder and CEO. “We recognize that digital signage is an important business marketing component in our subscribers’ communications mix, which can be extended cost-effectively – free, actually – beyond their traditional physical signage network. We are sure that these add-ons will be attractive to our subscribers.”

The extensions include:

Home Page Display – The Home Page applet allows StrandVision signage to be displayed on all designated computers or cell phones as the default home page or as a selectable bookmark or favorite based on administrator or end-user preference. The Home Page option works with any Web browser that supports Adobe flash.

Embedded Web Frame – The Web frame is another administrator-selectable applet that places the streaming StrandVision Digital Signage directly into an internal or public webpage, or even embedded into most social media walls. The administrator simply copies and pastes the link from StrandVision and it is automatically inserted into a frame on the website. The Web pages then display all of the same information that is shown on the digital signage display screens or the separate custom program in real-time.

Screen Saver – Another administrator selection, the applet does just what it says – it enables idle individual computer screens to default to the digital signage page display whenever the screen saver becomes active.

Share Electronically – This feature allows administrators to instantly share a link to the streaming signage with anyone via email, chat, text message or other instant messaging medium.

These features join StrandVision’s other free digital signage integration tools. including the ability to present Quick Response (QR) codes on digital signage displays that can be scanned to take viewers to informational or promotional websites; and the ability to collect, format and display frequently updated Web pages, such as transportation schedules and traffic, on StrandVision Digital Signage displays.

StrandVision subscribers simply select any or all of these electronic signage display options on their StrandVision portal Content Management System (CMS). Administrators can incorporate, email or text them to IT, network or Web administrators, or end users, as appropriate.
