StrandVision Digital Signage Player Software Now Available for the Mac

Digital signage network supports the Apple Mac OS X operating system…

MENOMONIE, Wis. – March 13, 2012 – StrandVision Digital Signage today announced support for the OS X operating system that enables Mac computers to be used as StrandVision Digital Signage players. This new application for the Mac is being added to StrandVision’s support of Microsoft Windows and Linux digital signage players.

Commented Mike Strand StrandVision founder and CEO, “This new electronic sign platform for Apple gives our StrandVision Digital Signage software subscribers another option to work with our digital signage network. Our cloud-based, SaaS service offers tremendous flexibility as well as a variety of digital signage display options. Now, virtually anyone with an Internet connection can take advantage of StrandVision’s free digital signage software or one of our more robust subscription plans.”

StrandVision offers Internet-based digital signage services that include text, graphics, video and audio, including background music and advertisements. Its flexible setup allows deployment of a single digital sign or a network of electronic sign displays in multiple, even international, locations. An easy-to-use administrator’s portal in the cloud provides a single location for managing all of a subscriber’s digital signage. In addition to designing the pages, the administrator portal can also be used to schedule pages and control where the content is shown within the digital signage networks.

All StrandVision digital signage subscriptions include free consulting services for digital signage installation, design and deployment. A free digital signage subscription trial is offered at: http://www.strandvision.com/free_digital_signage_software_testdrive.html.

StrandVision Offers Custom Programming to Integrate Corporate Live Data into StrandVision Digital Signage

Virtually any live business marketing, manufacturing or other data can be displayed on StrandVision Digital Signage…

MENOMONIE, Wis. – Feb. 1, 2012 – StrandVision Digital Signage today announced a custom programming service that enables its customers to automatically import virtually any live data feed into its digital signage display. Dynamic business marketing information, manufacturing production or safety performance information, bank interest rates or stock prices, or even conference room listings in hotels can be automatically updated, formatted and displayed through the StrandVision Digital Signage software.

Custom Applications
The process begins with a free digital signage consultation with a StrandVision engineer that explores StrandVision’s free pre-packaged, built-in database and RSS feed integration capabilities. If the solutions that are included with the standard StrandVision Digital Signage service are not appropriate, the engineer will discuss alternative, custom FTP, XML, HTML or other data access programming approaches.

The StrandVision engineer will then work with the customer’s IT staff on an hourly basis to develop the interface that will conform to the customer’s data security protocols. StrandVision will also design a custom template to display the information as part of the customer’s page mix.

“This service makes StrandVision Digital Signage even more flexible and valuable since it eliminates the need to manually update frequently changing live data,” said Mike Strand, StrandVision founder and CEO. “We’ve built a lot of the hooks into our software so we can efficiently and cost-effectively develop these custom data feeds quickly. It’s the fastest way to securely access corporate data for display on one digital signage player or a worldwide deployment of digital signage screens.”

The custom data feed service is available immediately. The initial consultation is free. Development programming is on an hourly basis; typical development projects take only a few hours and often are under one hour.

StrandVision Announces Free Digital Signage Option for Web Browser Home Page Signage

Free option makes StrandVision Digital Signage default Web home page…

MENOMONIE, Wis. – Jan. 11, 2012 – StrandVision Digital Signage today announced a free new applet for its cloud-based digital signage offering that enables any active subscriber’s signage to be displayed on unlimited computer or cell phone screens as the default home page or as a favorite. The Home Page option works with any Web browser that supports Adobe flash.

Ideal for employee communication messaging, member communications for clubs and organizations and faculty and staff communications in education, the StrandVision Digital Signage Home Page shows the same text, images, weather and news as the regular StrandVision Digital Signage displays. Videos also can be played by clicking on the play button as it appears in the signage loop.

Easy Set-up
There are several ways to take advantage of the free Digital Signage Home Page. StrandVision posts an automated link for each account’s Digital Signage display in the “View Signage” section of the account. Administrators email the link to users who can open the signage and optionally bookmark or set the signage as the browser’s Home Page.

For Information Technology-administered networks, the StrandVision link can be distributed and/or automatically loaded onto computers as they are being commissioned or when they are updated through automated software management processes.

“This is a great new way to take advantage of StrandVision Digital Signage and leverage the signage company wide,” said Mike Strand, StrandVision founder and CEO. “With a few mouse clicks, StrandVision Digital Signage can be extended to every computer in a company. Far-flung employees anywhere in the world can be exposed to corporate information 24/7. We know that there will be several other applications for business, education and other organizations, as well. It’s easy to set up and then runs automatically – and it continues our free digital signage software tradition with no additional cost to our subscribers.”

Other Display Options
The free StrandVision Digital Signage Home Page joins other StrandVision display options that were added to StrandVision’s suite of services in response to customer requests. The company also offers a screen saver option and an applet that enables its customers to show their signage as a frame on their Web pages. “Each of these three add-ons allows StrandVision Digital Signage customers to leverage their current business marketing and communication materials to reach employees, prospects or the public with consistent, efficient information without having to re-create separate communications vehicles,” said Strand.

StrandVision Debuts Employee Communication Digital Signage Screen Saver

Presents dynamic digital signage content on employees’ personal computers to enhance employee communication…

MENOMONIE, Wis. – Oct. 26, 2011 – StrandVision Digital Signage today unveiled a new screen saver capability for StrandVision Digital Signage networks that extends companies’ signage networks to employees’ desktops to further reinforce employee communication messaging.

Designed to bring corporate announcements directly to employees, it is ideal for human resources communications of employee benefits, reinforcement of corporate goals/missions, general business marketing, news and events or special announcements, such as weather-related bulletins. Compatible with Microsoft Windows operating systems, the screen saver application plays the same content that streams over customers’ StrandVision Digital Signage network on screens throughout a facility and internal and external websites.

“This is a powerful and efficient way to consistently communicate with employees and visitors,” commented Mike Strand StrandVision founder and CEO. “The StrandVision Digital Signage Screen Saver enables companies to get the most out of their digital signage networks by utilizing existing equipment that is temporarily inactive. We’ve designed a system that fits with corporate networking and computer management protocols while substantially extending the reach of the digital signage network for employee communication and business marketing opportunities.”

The application can be distributed in the same manner that other standard corporate applications are deployed. Once installed on an employee’s personal computer, the application becomes a dropdown selection in the Screen Saver Settings dialog and works the same way as any other screen saver.

StrandVision Digital Signage Screen Saver content is distributed over companies’ standard computer networks. A StrandVision preconfigured, on-premise server or Linux signage player is required for installations of more than 10 computers, which reduces subscription costs and network traffic while increasing efficiency. Pricing starts at $499 per year and goes as low as $.17 per desktop per month for larger installations. The StrandVision Digital Signage Screen Saver is available immediately from StrandVision and through authorized resellers.
