As part of a re-organisation of its distribution network, dynamics processing specialist Jünger Audio has appointed New-Tek Broadcast to handle its entire product range in Bulgaria.

Based in Sofia, New-Tek Broadcast is a division of the New-Tek Ltd Group, which was established more than 30 years ago to provide high-end sales and distribution services to customers in the broadcast and post production industries. Alongside Jünger Audio, New-Tek Broadcast also distributes products for companies such as Harris and Tektronix.

Yavor Yanakiev, general manager of New-Tek Broadcast, says: “We are delighted to be working with Jünger Audio in Bulgaria. Adding the brand to our existing portfolio enables us to provide our customers with a range of products that meet their requirements, especially for loudness control solutions. Bulgaria is a small country and at present it is only the major TV stations that are investing money in loudness control. However, smaller more

Jünger Audio Introduces Two New Combo Cards For Its C8000 Dynamics Processing and Loudness Control System

The current economic climate has made many broadcasters highly conscious of the costs they incur when choosing new equipment. This isn’t just limited to the initial purchase price – it is also reflected in ongoing costs such as energy requirements and physical space savings.

In response to this trend, Jünger Audio will be using the NAB platform to launch two new Combo cards for its world-renowned modular C8000 dynamic processing solution, which incorporate its propriety LEVEL MAGIC™ algorithm for automated loudness control.

The first of these cards is the C8586, a dual combo board providing two SDI streams, each with four channels of audio. This card is particularly well suited to the needs of re-broadcasters (Sat, IPTV, Cable) as it will enable them to process up to 32 channels in dual stereo and in one frame. What’s more, the card will be very competitively priced, thus enabling more

SBS Broadcasting Chooses Jünger Audio’s LEVEL MAGIC™ Solution For Loudness Control

After a thorough process of evaluation that incorporated both measurement and listening test, SBS Broadcasting in The Netherlands has installed Jünger Audio’s LEVEL MAGIC™ solution for loudness processing across all of its television channels.

SBS was prompted to investigate loudness control in order to comply with the new EBU R128 loudness recommendation, which was formally announced by the EBU’s PLOUD Group at the IBC Convention in September, 2010.

Josbert van Rooijen, Manager Broadcast & IT at SBS, says: “Complying with R128 is a complicated, step-by-step process. Proper and clean switched loudness processing is of vital importance if SBS is to be able to combine old style programming with content that is already compliant to the new paradigm. Switching needs to be carried out in a smooth and seamless manner, without changing the overall audio impression. In our opinion, Jünger more

Jünger Audio Introduces New High Performance Audio Processing Products NAB 2011

Dynamics processing specialist Jünger Audio will be showing a number of new products at this year’s NAB Convention in Las Vegas (Booth C6742), including an updated version of its best-selling B46 LEVEL MAGIC™ digital dynamics processor and new software to enable broadcasters to log loudness levels.

The stand-alone B46 processor is a professional non destructive normalizer that performs automated levelling of digital audio signals. The unit integrates LEVEL MAGIC, Jünger Audio’s adaptive loudness algorithm which is based on a Multi-Loop dynamic range control principle where slow changes (AGC), fast changes (Transient processing) and Look Ahead peak limiting are handled simultaneously, thus offering level management with exceptionally high audio quality and without coloration, pumping, breathing, distortion or modulation effects.

This easy to use unit remains one of Jünger Audio’s most popular products thanks to its exceptional audio quality and its ‘set and forget’ operation. Now the company has more

Jünger Audio Ensures Full Loudness Compliance For Its LEVEL MAGIC™ Loudness Control Products

In response to the new trends within the broadcast industry to control audio loudness, particularly between programmes and advertising commercials, Jünger Audio has announced that all of its Level Magic-based loudness control solutions are now fully compliant with all current Loudness recommendations.

In the US, broadcast loudness control became a legal requirement in December 2010 when President Barak Obama signed into law the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act. This new US law makes it illegal for commercials to be overly loud compared to the rest of the programming on a given channel. The CALM Act, which refers directly to ATSC Recommended Practice A/85 “Techniques for Establishing and Maintaining Audio Loudness for Digital Television?, compels the FCC to enforce rules that ensure that the average integrated loudness of the station audio matches the dialnorm metadata parameter in their transmitted Dolby® Digital (AC-3) stream.

In Europe, Loudness recommendations include more
