SADiE Plays A Key Role In Stevie Wonder’s Live DVD/Blu-Ray

david-woolley-thornquest.JPGWith 22 Grammy awards to his credit, including a Lifetime Achievement award, there is no doubt that Stevie Wonder has had a remarkable career.

To mark his achievements across five decades, Universal Motown has recently released Live at Last, Stevie Wonder’s first-ever live concert to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. The concert, which was recorded last autumn at the O2 (Arena) in London, was captured for posterity by Tim Summerhayes onboard the Red-TX mobile. The audio was then mixed by David Woolley at his Thornquest post-production facility in West Sussex. more

Images & Sound Invests In Fairlight Constellation XCS Console

images-sound-2.jpgImages & Sound, one of New Zealand’s largest post production companies, has upgraded its facilities to incorporate a 24-fader, three-bay Fairlight Constellation XCS console with integrated HD video record and playback.

Based in Auckland, Images & Sound offers a complete audio and video post production solution to the film, television and advertising industries. The facility has four mixing studios, two of which are equipped for 5.1 surround sound mixing. It also has two tracklaying studios, a Foley recording studio and a large cinetape department with a full range of HD and SD decks for mastering. more

Prism Sound Gains METAlliance Certification

Fairlight Appoints Lukas Bower

Creative Sound Adopts Jünger Audio’s Dynamics Processors As Standard

DK-Technologies Announces PT0760M Software Update

The software update has resulted in a much simpler menu structure, making it easier for customer to navigate the PT0760M’s extensive video and audio features. The unit also now has plug and play capability and incorporates Dolby Digital and Dolby E decoding, either from embedded audio within the HD/SD video or through separate AES inputs via a Dolby decoder module. more

SADiE Goes On Tour With Wired For Sound

London-based Wired For Sound has been using its new SADiE LRX2 Location Audio Workstation in an innovative way to both record and individualise huge quantities of source audio in a very short timeframe.

The company runs what Director Johnnie Dymock calls “radio junkets? for various US television networks that are seeking to promote their new shows on radio. Typically, during these, DJs from a number of radio stations are flown to a relevant location (such as the Bahamas in the case of The Real Gilligan’s Island, for instance) to record a series of face to face interviews with the cast of the show. It sounds simple enough, but the numbers involved mean that logistically it can be an impressive challenge. more
