DK-Technologies Appoints Peter Harrison

Peter HarrisonDK-Technologies has announced the appointment of Peter Harrison to the position of Regional Sales Manager, with particular responsibility for the US and the Far East.

Peter Harrison has worked in broadcast since the 1970s when he joined the UK ITV company ‘Border TV’, leaving some years later as a sound supervisor. His broadcast operational experience is set against his pure engineering background, which was exploited fully when joining the old Rupert Neve founded mixer company in 1980. There, he commissioned audio and broadcast equipment in studios and OB trucks all over the world. His commercial background was later broadened by some years with Amek, founding their broadcast division, and ultimately leaving them in 1997 as Director of Engineering. more

Prism Sound Reduces The US Cost Of dScope Series III

Prism Sound (www.prismsound.com) is pleased to announce that it is reducing the US Dollar price of its dScope Series III audio analyser by 24% to USD 9,850.

The price cut, which has immediate effect, enables US customers to take advantage of the devaluation of Sterling and allows Prism Sound’s products to remain highly competitive on the global market.

Imperial College Installs A White Mark Room

Imperial College
Vacant space on the top floor of Imperial College London’s Central Library in South Kensington, London, has been redeveloped to form a new creative space for members of the College’s Communications Division.

A key facet of this project was the installation of a television studio and editing suite, which was designed by acoustic specialists White Mark Ltd and installed by Wire Broadcast. It is equipped with a Media 100 HDe nonlinear editing suite with centrally racked playback facilities for Betacam, U-Matic, VHS and DVD. Vision mixing is provided in the editing suite which is linked to the studio for multi-camera working using Sony DSR 450 cameras. Media encoding/streaming is also achieved within the facility with options for Real Player and Flash formats. more

US Sports Broadcasters WWE® and MLB Switch To Fairlight CC-1

Fairlight’s Crystal Core technology has received a massive endorsement from two US sports broadcasters, both of whom have moved over to the new CC-1 platform to improve their speed of workflow and networking capabilities.

Major League Baseball Productions are installing two CC-1 powered Fairlight Constellation large-format mixing consoles, both with the new Xynergi Centre Section (XCS) and PyxisTrack HD video. The production company has also invested in a Pyxis HD server to network video to the two consoles. more
