Prism Sound Gains METAlliance Certification

Established in 2005 by renowned music producers and recording engineers Chuck Ainlay, Ed Cherney, Frank Filipetti, George Massenburg, Phil Ramone, Elliot Scheiner, and Al Schmit, the METAlliance is a US-based network and collaborative community that allows producers, engineers and audio technology manufacturers to work together to ensure the highest standards of audio production. Alongside platforms for research and development, standardization and education, METAlliance also works closely with manufacturers to evaluate and certify products that offer the highest levels of quality in the recording chain. To date, only a handful of products have achieved this accolade. more

Fairlight Appoints Lukas Bower

A 20 year media industry veteran, Bower previously served as General Manager, Strategic Partnerships at Fairlight, where he was responsible for the successful Fairlight Partner Program as well as ongoing development of Fairlight’s CC-1 media processing platform. Prior to Fairlight, Bower served as Chief Technology Officer at Hollywood integrated digital media agency World Wide Wadio. Lukas has also worked as an award winning sound mixer and editor for Technicolor Sound, Fox, Warner Brothers and Sony Pictures, as well as the live sound mixer for “The Oprah Winfrey Show?. more

Creative Sound Adopts Jünger Audio’s Dynamics Processors As Standard

SADiE Goes On Tour With Wired For Sound

London-based Wired For Sound has been using its new SADiE LRX2 Location Audio Workstation in an innovative way to both record and individualise huge quantities of source audio in a very short timeframe.

The company runs what Director Johnnie Dymock calls “radio junkets? for various US television networks that are seeking to promote their new shows on radio. Typically, during these, DJs from a number of radio stations are flown to a relevant location (such as the Bahamas in the case of The Real Gilligan’s Island, for instance) to record a series of face to face interviews with the cast of the show. It sounds simple enough, but the numbers involved mean that logistically it can be an impressive challenge. more

Fairlight’s CC-1 Platform Proves Popular In France

Richard PerezFairlight’s ground-breaking Crystal Core (CC-1) technology is proving to be a winner for Française des Jeux, the French national lottery organisation that also handles the Euro Millions lottery.

Based in Paris, Française des Jeux has an in-house audio and video production facility that is used to create TV commercials and a regular talk show. The facility is equipped with a Fairlight Constellation console, which has now been upgraded to the CC-1 platform. FDJ has also installed Fairlight MediaLink so that it can easily connect its Constellation to its Avid video editing system. more
