BTX Chosen To Distribute Sports Select Wireless Tabletop Speaker System

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. — Jan. 31, 2012 — BTX Technologies, a value-added distributor and manufacturer of interface, integration, and system products for audio-visual, digital signage, broadcast, home theater, and security applications, announced that it will be distributing the Sports Select wireless tabletop speaker system. Perfect for televised sporting events, the Sports Select system wirelessly broadcasts up to 16 channels of digital 900-MHz audio from a bar or restaurant’s displays to rechargeable tabletop speakers. Users simply choose which display they want to listen to at their table, and the sounds of the game immediately come to life.

“Traditionally, watching a sporting event at the bar has only offered half of the experience,” said Greg Schwartz, president of BTX Technologies. “With Sports Select, the game is not only enhanced for patrons, but they also have complete control over which display they want to listen to. For bar and restaurant owners, this means customers will stay at the establishment longer, purchasing more food and drinks. Furthermore, for our integrators, offering this cutting-edge technology is a great way to help grow their business.”

Simple to install and maintain, the Sports Select system consists of transmitters, speakers, and charging tray. With a transmission range of over 35,000 square feet for the largest of facilities, the Sports Select transmitter is easy to integrate with satellite, cable boxes, or displays. For high sound quality, the device features an adjustable audio input modulation level and noise reduction technology.

The Sports Select rechargeable speaker is portable, compact, and can operate all day on a single charge. For bar or restaurant patrons, the 4.5-inch by 8.5-inch speaker offers excellent localized sound quality, built-in volume control, and a channel selector. The compact Sports Select charging tray is table-top or wall mountable, and can charge six units at a time. Speakers can also be charged with an optional power supply.

Going “beyond distribution” for Sports Select, BTX’s highly experienced and knowledgeable staff is available to provide unmatched technical support to help customers configure their systems.

“BTX was an easy choice for us,” said Eric Renner of Sports Select. “The company has a long history of providing outstanding representation and unmatched customer service and support. We are confident that this partnership will significantly expand our customer base, while also offering the highest levels of service.”

Sports Select is available from BTX now, and the company is currently giving demos across the country.

Revolabs Unveils FLX VoIP

First Wireless Conference Phone Designed for VoIP Networks

SUDBURY, Mass. — Jan. 31, 2012 — Revolabs Inc. today introduced the Revolabs FLX(TM) VoIP, the first wireless conference phone designed for VoIP networks. Supporting a wide variety of IP switches, the FLX VoIP is the only conference phone that supports the audio clarity of HD audio while providing the freedom of wireless microphones and speakers. The feature set that has been available through the Revolabs FLX for analog phone lines is now also available for IP telephone networks, providing unprecedented conference call clarity and flexibility.

The FLX VoIP integrates directly with most IP telephone switches following the SIP standard. Through this integration, new features only available through digital switch environments, such as voice mail alerts and “do not disturb,” can now be offered with the FLX VoIP. The phone’s wireless capabilities allow it to be used in small and midsize conference rooms without running any cables. As with the FLX for analog phone lines, this allows for a clean look while requiring less space on the conference table. The independent microphones, speaker, and dialer of the FLX VoIP give the user freedom and flexibility that other conference phone systems cannot offer.

“The majority of enterprise companies are already on IP phone networks, or will be making the transition soon,” said Martin Bodley, CEO of Revolabs. “Our FLX VoIP helps these companies get the most out of their IP infrastructure, providing unmatched audio quality, wireless freedom, and simple installation, while allowing them to take full advantage of the powerful new features of their digital systems, all at an amazing value.”

Combining wireless operation, high-quality wideband audio, 128-bit encryption, and integrated Bluetooth(R), the FLX VoIP redefines the conference speakerphone. Unlike the single-component design of previous solutions, Revolabs FLX VoIP evolves the conference phone into several distinct components, giving users unprecedented freedom with respect to placement and accessibility of the speaker, microphones, and dial pad.

Available with a variety of compatible Revolabs microphones, the FLX VoIP supports a lapel microphone worn by one person; an omnidirectional tabletop microphone that captures the sound of six to 10 participants; and a directional tabletop microphone that enables audio capture from two to three people. Because the FLX VoIP dialer operates like a telephone for handset calls and enables the set up of conference calls, there is no need for a separate desk and conference phone.

The Revolabs FLX VoIP can also serve as the audio interface for virtually any major brand of video conferencing equipment, making it the ideal unified communication technology for small to medium-sized conference rooms, executive offices, and small office/home office (SoHo) environments. FLX VoIP’s integrated Bluetooth technology provides a single collaboration device no matter which communication channel is used, allowing users to connect speakers and microphones to their Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones or computers.

The Revolabs FLX VoIP will be available worldwide in February 2012, and sold through major distributors, dealers, and resellers.

Atlona(R) to Highlight New LinkCast Wireless HD A/V System and AT-PRO3HD44M HDBaseT(TM) Matrix Switcher at ISE 2012

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Jan. 30, 2012 — Atlona(R), a leading digital connectivity solutions provider, will introduce its new LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System and AT-PRO3HD44M high-speed 4×4 HDMI matrix switcher featuring HDBaseT(TM) technology to the European market at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2012.

“As we continue to expand the Atlona presence in the EMEA market, ISE provides a fantastic opportunity to show off some amazing new products — from all three of our product lines — for overseas installers,” said Ilya Khain, president and CEO of Atlona. “A big highlight at our booth will be our new switchers, featuring HDBaseT technology, and our award-winning LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System. LinkCast has already caused quite a stir in the United States, and we are looking forward to bringing the same excitement to our European customers.”

Atlona’s LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System allows home theater enthusiasts, gamers, laptop users, and others to connect multiple HDMI-based devices wirelessly to an HDTV or projector up to 40 feet away. LinkCast includes an A/V base station (AT-LINKCASTAV) and one LinkCast System Expander (AT-LINKCAST-HTX). The LinkCast A/V base station connects to the HDTV or projector’s HDMI input, and the LinkCast System Expander plugs into virtually any A/V device with an HDMI output and standard USB connection. Up to five devices can be wirelessly connected to one LinkCast system with the purchase of additional LinkCast expanders, each sold separately. The LinkCast system is backed by a full three-year AtlonaAdvantage warranty and will be available to European customers in Q2 2012.

Featuring HDBaseT technology, the Atlona AT-PRO3HD44M 4×4 HDMI matrix switcher extends HDMI sources up to 60 meters over CAT 5e/6/7 cables at 1080p or 1920×1200. The unit offers control of up to eight components through a variety of options, including the front panel, bidirectional control via the switcher’s IR and RS-232 ports, and integration with third-party control boxes for zone displays. Offering a built-in source S/PDIF loop out, the switcher allows audio to be sent to an AVR or amplifier for simple distribution. The unit is compatible with LPCM 2 channel, Dolby(R) 2.0, Dolby Digital 5.1, and DTS 5.1. Programmable memory presets, loadable to any source connected to the matrix, ensure that any display can receive audio and video. Taking advantage of the Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) abilities of HDBaseT technology, this switcher provides more options for low-voltage installations and lends itself perfectly to the integration of multiroom A/V systems in single-family homes. The AT-PRO3HD44M will be available early Q2.

These new products and more will be on display in Atlona’s ISE booth 4U63. In addition, the company will be holding an International Distributors Summit at ISE, covering sales incentive programs and offering sneak peeks at new products, training, demonstrations, and new business opportunities. More information about Atlona and its products can be found at www.atlona.com.

New Atlona Home Collection Consumer Product Line Makes Waves at 2012 International CES

LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System Honored With Electronic House Product of the Year Award and CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Jan. 26, 2012 — Atlona(R), a leading digital connectivity solutions provider, today announced that at the 2012 International CES, its new LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System was honored with both a 2012 Electronic House Product of the Year Award in the category of Multiroom Audio, and a CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Honoree Award in the Multi-Room Audio/Video category. In addition, demos of the wireless system were a big hit at the ShowStoppers press event. The LinkCast System is part of Atlona’s new Home Collection line, which made its debut at the 2012 International CES.

The Electronic House Product of the Year Awards honor the best technologies, products, and services for the electronic home. Award winners were chosen by a panel of several industry leaders, along with the editors of Electronic House and CE Pro. Since 1976, the prestigious CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards — presented by the Consumer Electronics Association — have given consumer technology manufacturers and developers an opportunity to have their newest products judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers, and members of the trade press. This year, Atlona’s LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System stood out from the pack for judges of both awards.

Atlona’s LinkCast System allows home theater enthusiasts, gamers, laptop users, and more to connect multiple HDMI-based devices wirelessly to an HDTV or projector up to 40 feet away. LinkCast includes one A/V base station (AT-LINKCASTAV) and one LinkCast System Expander (AT-LINKCAST-HTX). The LinkCast A/V base station connects to the HDTV or projector’s HDMI input, while the LinkCast System Expander plugs into virtually any audio/video device with an HDMI output and standard USB connection for power. To further eliminate cable clutter, installation challenges, and costs, up to five different devices can be wirelessly connected to one LinkCast System with additional LinkCast Expanders, each sold separately.

“This year’s 2012 International CES was a momentous event for Atlona,” said Dan Tye, national sales manager for Atlona Home Collection. “We are honored that our LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System was recognized with two such prestigious awards, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the excitement it generated at ShowStoppers. The launch of our Home Collection line was a huge success, with all of our new cables, switchers, extenders, scalers, and converters receiving a very warm reception from visitors to our booth.”

In addition to the LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System, the Home Collection line includes Atlona’s LinkConnect HDMI cable series and the LinkConvert family of switchers, extenders, scalers, and converters. LinkConnect is a complete suite of cables, adapters, and other connectivity solutions capable of delivering ultra-high-speed bandwidth up to 17+ Gbps and up to 4k x 2k HD video resolution support. LinkConvert products featured at the 2012 International CES included Atlona’s high-performance 3×1 HDMI auto switcher (AT-HAD-V31) and VGA-to-HDMI scaler/converter (AT-HDView).

The Atlona Home Collection will be available to U.S. consumers in Q1 2012. The LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System will be making its European debut at ISE 2012 in booth 4U63, and will be available to European consumers in Q2 2012.

Revolabs FLX(TM) Wireless Conference Phone Delivers Exceptional Audio Quality for Sametime(R) Users Through IBM Sametime Integration

SUDBURY, Mass. — Jan. 23, 2012 — Revolabs Inc. today announced that the company’s FLX(TM) wireless conference phone has been tested and verified to operate with IBM Sametime(R) software. Designed specifically for small and mid-sized conference rooms, executive offices, and SOHO environments, the Revolabs FLX now offers seamless integration with IBM Sametime to deliver exceptional audio quality for users.

IBM Sametime delivers unified, real-time communication and collaboration services — from enterprise instant messaging and online meetings to telephony and video conferencing. The software allows businesses to improve how work gets done while reducing travel and telephony expenses. Through the new integration with IBM Sametime, users simply plug the Revolabs FLX wireless conference phone into their computer for superior audio performance at the desktop or in the conference room. The Revolabs FLX works with IBM Sametime integrated telephony solutions, whether SUT, SUT Lite, TCSPI, or the built-in Sametime audio features.

Combining wireless operation, high-quality wideband audio, 128-bit encryption, integrated Bluetooth(R), support for analog and IP, and a low price point, the FLX redefines the traditional conference speakerphone. The FLX is available with a variety of compatible Revolabs microphones types, including a lapel microphone, worn by one person; an omnidirectional tabletop microphone that captures the sound of six to 10 participants; and a directional tabletop microphone that enables audio capture from two to three people.

Because the FLX dialer operates like a telephone for handset calls and enables the setup of conference calls, there is no need for a separate desk and conference phone. The Revolabs FLX can also serve as the audio interface with virtually any major brand of video conferencing equipment, providing the same high audio performance within video calls. Callers without Internet access can have their phone calls bridged into the video session at any time.

In a review of the FLX, Carl Tyler, director of Epillio, noted, “I connected the FLX to my PC and tried it with IBM Sametime. The audio quality was excellent, even clearer than the phone line. Another impressive FLX feature is the ability to merge audio streams. So, if you’re on a Sametime phone call using FLX for PC audio and the telephone rings, you can answer the phone, and the audio from both calls will be merged, allowing both callers to hear and chat with each other.”

In September 2011, Wainhouse Research (WR) conducted a third-party evaluation of the FLX. Ira M. Weinstein, senior analyst and partner at WR, said, “Throughout our testing, the Revolabs FLX performed well and provided a solid conference call experience even through the most aggressive echo cancellation and duplex tests. Not only is its audio call-quality as strong as wired speaker phones, but the use of a wireless speaker and microphones completely changes the entire conference call dynamic. The ability to move about the room without having to yell to be picked up by the speakerphone adds a new level of freedom to the meeting experience.”

The Revolabs FLX was recently honored with a 2011 Internet Telephony Product of the Year Award and is sold through major distributors, dealers, and resellers.
