LynTec at InfoComm 2014

June 18-20 – Las Vegas
Booth C8725

LynTec Products on Display at InfoComm 2014:

Remote Power Controller (RPC) — New Version!
LynTec’s Remote Power Controller (RPC) series panel version 2 combines the latest motorized breaker technology with a new and improved controller, featuring more memory, a faster processor for real-time monitoring down to the circuit level, and the capacity to use multiple control protocols simultaneously — now including sACN. These new features complement the device’s onboard server with network or smart-device access, load-specified switch-grade motorized circuit breakers, built-in auto-off brownout protection using controlled circuit breaker shutdown and restart, optional sequential circuit level on/off capabilities, and ability to interface with third-party control systems via contact closure, TCP/IP, DMX, or RS-232.

This new version also provides the market’s only auto-on function to activate egress lighting via contact closure inputs from fire alarms in the event of an emergency. Supporting UL 924 requirements, the upgrade replaces the need for separate emergency lighting panels and high voltage switches. The software also turns on lighting circuits regardless of control protocol or zone assignment — similar to the function of existing emergency-off or kill features used for silencing sound reinforcement systems during alarms.

Remote Power Control Mobile (RPCM)
LynTec’s award-winning Remote Power Control Mobile (RPCM) is the first intelligent power distribution panel to bring three new features to the mobile power distribution market. First, the RPCM uses switch-grade motorized circuit breakers to provide remotely managed electrical protection and on/off control within a single enclosure. Second, the unit offers current monitoring at the branch circuit level — enabling real-time current draw on a branch breaker, phase, or panel basis in addition to notification alarms that alert users of electrical panel anomalies via text or email. Third, the RPCM’s built-in Web server enables users to monitor and control distribution with ease, directly on the network, from a Web interface on any browser-enabled smart device. RPCM also interfaces with most third-party control systems using IP, DMX, and sACN protocols.

Ideal for temporary live events in settings including houses of worship, stadiums, and theaters, the RPCM provides direct on/off control for LED lighting and takes loads out of standby mode by directly shutting down circuits — reducing energy and system maintenance costs while facilitating more sustainable setups within a portable, road case design.

RPCR Relay Panel
Ideal for houses of worship, schools, performing arts centers, auditoriums, and other large assembly spaces, LynTec’s RPCR is the only relay panel built specifically for the entertainment industry. Based on LynTec’s popular RPC series panel, the RPCR brings branch circuit control and monitoring to any existing breaker panel, regardless of brand, make, or model. The unit combines relay functionality with a built-in Web server to provide remote electrical control to applications including LED lighting, powered amplifiers, and energy management programs. Additionally, a Web-enabled browser-based interface allows users to set up, troubleshoot, control, and monitor relay status remotely across existing networks — resulting in simpler, more efficient power management from any computer, tablet, or handheld smart device. The point-and-click interface enables users to set up zones easily, perform sequential on/off switching and scheduling, activate emergency overrides, and provide dependable brownout protection.

Company Quote:

“LynTec has been working diligently to deliver market-first innovations for mobile power distribution, relay panels, and LED lighting applications. The result is our award-winning RPC line of products, which brings new levels of flexibility to A/V and lighting environments — providing intelligent power distribution, anytime/anywhere access and control, and compatibility with any existing breaker panel brand, make, or system. At InfoComm 2014, our very latest RPC remote power control systems will be on display, as well as our new RPCM intelligent power distribution panel, which provides portability and built-in Web capabilities for complete mobile power management, protection, and control.”
– Mark Bishop, President of LynTec

Biamp Systems’ Vocia TTS-1nc Named Finalist for 2014 SCN InfoComm Installation Product Awards

One of only three finalists in the Most Innovative Audio Processing category, Vocia TTS-1nc automates and prioritizes paging messages from nurse call systems

BEAVERTON, Oregon — April 10, 2014 — Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems, today announced that its Vocia(R) TTS-1nc text-to-speech server is a finalist for the 2014 SCN InfoComm Installation Product Awards in the “Most Innovative Audio Processing” category. The SCN InfoComm Installation Product Awards showcase the most innovative commercial products that entered the market in 2013.

The Vocia TTS-1nc text-to-speech server with built-in software enables the automation and prioritization of critical paging messages directly from nurse call systems in hospitals. Since the TTS-1nc operates over Ethernet and CobraNet(R) networks, users can create and manage courtesy announcements through a Web browser. Modular and scalable to support many zones and languages, the TTS-1nc constructs announcements based on user-defined templates, extending the power of a nurse call system to do more, thus streamlining systems and improving efficiencies.

“It’s always an honor when our products earn industry recognition,” said Steve Metzger, Biamp Systems President and CEO. “We’re excited that Vocia is a finalist for the SCN Installation Product Awards, and believe it reflects our commitment to creating thoughtful and highly reliable products for our customers.”

Biamp Systems Named Finalist in Two Categories for the Inaugural 2014 InstallAwards

AudiaFLEX NREL implementation is shortlisted in the corporate category, while installation at Purdue University earns a spot in the education category

BEAVERTON, Oregon — April 9, 2014 — Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems, today announced that the company has been selected as a finalist in two categories for Installation magazine’s inaugural InstallAwards. The Biamp(R) AudiaFLEX digital audio system — installed in the Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Colorado — is a finalist for the Star Product Award in the Corporate/Industrial category. In the Education category, the installation at Purdue University’s France A. Cordova Recreational Sports Center (CoRec) — which includes an expansive Biamp AudiaFLEX system — is a finalist for the Best Project Award.

Biamp’s AudiaFLEX allows users to select any configuration of input (IP-2) and output (OP-2e) pairs for the ultimate in flexibility. Providing unprecedented control, the entire audio network can be controlled over Ethernet or via the most popular control platforms. With AudiaFLEX, multi-channel audio can be seamlessly distributed among multiple units using cost-effective Cat-5 cable. Each AudiaFLEX unit can provide up to 24 channels of I/O with Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) available as a separate input module.

At the NREL, AudiaFLEX was utilized as part of an Audia(R)/Nexia(R) audio solution combination in the newly built ESIF, which required a system that could meet the diverse needs of eight distinct workspaces. AudiaFLEX was chosen for the project due to its flexibility and modular DSP architecture. At Purdue University, AudiaFLEX was a key component in the remodel of CoRec facility. To create one large DSP audio network across the entire 355,000-square-foot facility, 18 AudiaFLEX units were installed, with many pulling double duty — operating as room audio processors as well as performing paging and background music functions.

“At Biamp, we develop and manufacture audio solutions that support the world’s most sophisticated installations. Every person at Biamp is dedicated in one way or another to making sure our products embody excellence in quality, reliability, and support,” said Biamp Systems President and CEO, Steve Metzger. “We are honored to be recognized for these two InstallAwards.”

The 2014 InstallAwards were introduced to coincide with Installation magazine’s fifteenth year of publication. The awards recognize achievement and excellence across the full spectrum of installation projects in a wide variety of applications. Winners will be announced in a ceremony at the Hilton London Wembley hotel on June 12.

Riedel’s New MediorNet MetroN Core Router Boosts Bandwidth and Flexibility in MediorNet Installations

WUPPERTAL, Germany — April 8, 2014 — Riedel Communications, provider of pioneering real-time video, audio, data, and communications networks, today announced that it has expanded its MediorNet family of real-time networks with the addition of the 2-RU large-scale MediorNet MetroN core router. In enabling Riedel’s acclaimed networked approach to signal distribution and routing, the new MediorNet MetroN fiber router provides a massive 640 GB real-time signal-routing capacity (64x10G ports).

“The MediorNet MetroN core router enables users to configure robust and highly redundant MediorNet installations in a variety of demanding applications without any concern for bandwidth limitations,” said Christian Bockskopf, marketing and communications manager for Riedel Communications. “By adding this fiber router to new or existing MediorNet systems, users can fully leverage the flexibility of our real-time networks even when working with large volumes of high-bandwidth signals.”

Riedel’s MediorNet system combines signal transport, routing, signal processing, and conversion into one integrated real-time network solution. With this network for video, audio, data, and communications, users can send any incoming signal to any output — or even to multiple outputs — with just a mouse click or, even more conveniently, by using a router control system. Eliminating the need for re-wiring when production setups change, MediorNet increases the flexibility of any installation while significantly reducing cabling and setup time. Integrated broadcast-quality processing and conversion features reduce or eliminate the need for external devices, in turn helping users to realize significant savings in infrastructure investment.

The addition of the MetroN core router dramatically increases the bandwidth available across MediorNet networks. It is the first solution in the MediorNet family where the connection is realized by means of 10G links. Up to six HD-SDI signals can be transmitted over one 10G connection. Typical applications for the router include the connection of MediorNet subnets, studio backbones, routing within a 3G-SDI studio infrastructure, and supporting networked OB vans.

Further information about Riedel and the company’s products is available at www.riedel.net.
