Designed for hard-wired installations on a countertop or under a cabinet, the sleek CX7 is loaded with high-end features for complete, customized control, including an adjustable tilt 7-inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen LCD, analog audio and video inputs, stereo speakers, wired and wireless Ethernet, proximity and ambient light sensors, and more.

Primarily designed to be used with RTI control systems for powerful two-way control of electronics, it is the flexible installation options the CX7 has to offer that really sets it apart. For example, analog audio and video inputs — composite, S-video, and component — allow users to view and listen to sources such as satellite TV on its dazzling 7-inch, 800×480 WVGA LCD and integrated stereo speakers. The unit also features wired 10/100 Base-T and wireless Ethernet, which provide two-way control and feedback, access to Web pages, video from network security cameras, and convenient programming. For the ultimate in convenience, proximity and light sensors automatically bring the unit to life when it’s approached by an end user.

MediorNet Processing Features

Integrated AVB Control Panel for Artist Digital Matrix Intercom
During BVE 2014, Riedel Communications will feature its new CPX-AVB expansion card for Riedel Artist 1100 series control panels. The CPX-AVB provides the next generation of AVB interfacing for Riedel Artist digital matrix intercom control panels.

The CPX-AVB is a dedicated card that fits in the expansion slot of the Artist 1100 series OLED control panels. The card turns the control panel into an AVB-enabled device, in turn making the panel’s ports available within the entire AVB network. The expansion card converts two Artist ports to the AVB network and vice versa.

To enable further signal integration, Riedel offers a comprehensive suite of AVB-enabled interfaces for its Artist intercom platform. In addition to the existing Connect AVB x8 panel interface, the Connect AVB C8 offers eight AES connections on BNC. The device supports both bidirectional AES for intercom panels and unidirectional transport for broadcast AES.

The Connect AVB A8 provides eight analog inputs and outputs on RJ45 connectors. Riedel’s AVB Manager offers full AVB network management and features system-wide control of all AVB components.

T3Media Selects Front Porch Digital’s SAMMA Migration System to Digitize Visual History of U.S. Armed Forces

LOUISVILLE, Colo. — Jan. 27, 2014 — Front Porch Digital, the global leader in content storage management (CSM) solutions, today announced that T3Media, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based video management and licensing services, has chosen Front Porch Digital’s SAMMA(R) migration system to digitize the videotape collection of the Department of Defense (DOD) dating back to World War II. The collection is managed within the DOD by the Defense Imagery Management Operations Center (DIMOC).

The DOD collection contains a wide range of videotape formats including Betacam, VHS, and U-matic. T3Media will incorporate a seven-stream SAMMArobot into its workflow to enable automated, high-throughput migration of the Betacam material.

PITTSBURGH — Jan. 24, 2014 — NEP announced today that the company has closed on its acquisition of Australia’s Global Television from Catalyst Investment Managers. The completion of this transaction officially brings Global Television into NEP’s worldwide operations, uniting two of the world’s most experienced and successful television technical services companies.

NEP is one of the largest broadcast and live event service companies in the world, with operations across the United States, United Kingdom, and Brazil and supporting thousands of events annually around the world. Global Television, Australia’s largest provider of independent TV studios and OB services, is internationally recognized for its technical expertise in host broadcasting, and its partnerships with broadcasters and production companies have resulted in several major contracts including the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and the 2014 G20 Summit in Brisbane.

With the acquisition, NEP adds Global Television’s top-tier fleet of outside broadcast and studio facilities to its worldwide pool of resources — raising NEP’s total facilities to more than 70 high-definition (HD) units; several HD flypacks; studios in Los Angeles, New York, London, Cardiff, Sydney, and Melbourne; thousands of plasma, LED, and projection video display solutions; and a large team of industry-leading engineering and technical experts.

For Wohler signal management and monitoring products, Shawn Sennett will serve as director of western U.S. sales and Jerry Williamson will serve as director of eastern U.S. sales. For the Wohler RadiantGrid(TM) business line, Brian Massie has been hired as sales engineer and Tom McFarland as QA engineer.
