Adaptive Video Walls and Displays Demonstrates 3×2 Video Wall at Digital Signage Expo 2013

Video Wall Features Winch System for Vertical Movement

LAS VEGAS, FEBRUARY 27, 2013 — Adaptive Video Walls and Displays, a division of Adaptive Technologies Group and the premier provider of innovative wall-mountable, floor-standing, interlocking and flyable video wall frames for multiple LCD, LED and plasma monitors, demonstrates a flyable 3X2 Video Wall at Digital Signage Expo 2013 (Booth 1715).

This flyable video wall consists of six 46-inch NEC flat-screen LCD displays that are joined together and secured to a semi-automated winch system. Users can configure the video wall to exhibit one large image across all the displays or up to six different images. Raising and lowering video walls with a winch system turns conference rooms, command centers, retail environments, casinos, corporate training centers and other venues into multi-purpose facilities by allowing the user to better utilize these spaces.

“Adaptive Technologies Group is excited to demonstrate its flyable, retractable video wall capabilities at this year’s Digital Signage Expo,” says Paul Allen, president, Adaptive Technologies Group. “This 3X2 video wall is just one example of how our video walls put digital content anywhere and can help to transform any multi-purpose venue with just a click of a button. At Adaptive, we offer a full range of video wall framing solutions that can be customized according to size, configuration and monitor type, with a range of mounting options to fit any space’s unique requirements.”

Adaptive’s commitment to safety engineering is evident by its precision-machined connecting bars and compression locks that link its precisely dimensioned frames together into multiple tiers that support thousands of pounds of LCD monitors. Rigging beams provide rugged overhead load-rated lifting and suspensions for nearly any application.

In addition to the frames designed for use at Digital Signage Expo 2013, Adaptive Video Walls and Displays provides frames for a wide variety of other LCD and plasma models that are employed in many permanent, rental and staging applications around the world, including narrow bezel models produced by NEC, Sharp, LG, Orion, Samsung Panasonic and ViewSonic.

Minimal seams, as small as 5.9mm, permit each panel to offer high-pixel density paired with the high optical clarity of direct bonded Gorilla Glass to optimize full HD resolution and capture the absolute viewing experience. Corning Gorilla Glass helps enable better touch-sensitivity so it is ideal for touch screen interactive technology, including Christie Interactivity Kit, and its damage-resistant properties help to maintain its beauty over time. Harris Digital Out-Of-Home Brings New Visual and Business Management Innovations to Digital Signage Expo

DENVER, February 20, 2013Harris Digital Out-Of-Home comes to this year’s Digital Signage Expo (February 27-28, Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth 907) with new innovations to amplify consumer engagement and extend business management reach. The company will demonstrate dynamic video and graphical content generated through its latest InfoCaster™ release. Additionally, new Punctuate™ software tools extend business management beyond single-channel capability.

The new updates, which include creative enhancements for videowall displays and interactive engagement, illustrate the company’s commitment to innovation for the digital signage industry across many verticals, including retail, hospitality, sports and live entertainment.

“Harris Digital Out-Of-Home continues to develop its portfolio, with new features to improve the visual experience for consumers and evolve the business model for out-of-home networks,” said Denise MacDonell, director and general manager, Harris Digital Out-Of-Home. “The Digital Signage Expo remains the industry’s greatest event to build relationships and demonstrate innovations. We intend to do this and more.”

MacDonell adds that the company will offer two presentations in workshop sessions over the course of the show. Information on the Harris Digital Out-Of-Home presentations is available at http://blog.harris.com/join-harris-digital-out-of-home-at-dse-2013/, and a complete list is at http://www.digitalsignageexpo.net/schedule.

Visual Enhancements
InfoCaster is among the preeminent digital signage solutions, with a full suite of hardware and software products to create, schedule, distribute and play out content – including HD-quality video and immaculate graphics.

The latest release incorporates HTML5 and Flash support for dynamic web content, including specific screen regions and full-screen presentations. This enables more sophisticated content management at the network level, as well as rich interactive experiences from wayfinding to retail purchases for consumers. The latter, made possible through InfoCaster software, makes touchscreen-powered shopping part of the complete in-store media experience for retailers and other businesses.

“This is especially useful in building an omni-channel strategy that brings the in-store and on-screen experience together for retail customers, and ensures that all channels of communication to the consumer are consistent,” said MacDonell.

InfoCaster has been traditionally strong for videowall presentations, perfectly synchronizing content together as one seamless canvas. The InfoCaster process removes videowall processors and other components from the mix, without limiting the number of supported displays in large videowall configurations.

At Digital Signage Expo, the company will introduce support for perfectly synchronized real-time data feeds, such as news, weather and stock information. The crawls will similarly stretch across videowalls as part of a large canvas, perfectly in sync to ensure all data on display is accurate and up to date. Harris Digital Out-Of-Home will also demonstrate support for non-grid videowalls to enable various screen orientations.

“A traditional videowall limitation has been the assumption that all monitors must be in the portrait or landscape orientation to produce engaging content,” said MacDonell. “InfoCaster allows our customers to create far more interesting videowall layouts based on its ability to synchronize content across different display shapes and sizes.”

Business Management
Punctuate manages the scheduling and placement of advertising and promotional content for out-of-home networks, bringing together automatic content placement and accurate business management. New management tools allow Punctuate users to manage more than one channel or network from the same interface. This enables two or more operators to see different aspects of a network while sharing common components and information.

“One example is a network operator managing an audio network and a video network for the same business,” said MacDonell. “They might have the same advertisers and the same playout locations, but different content. Punctuate simplifies matters by sharing the same IT infrastructure and other components to streamline overall business management.”

Adaptive Video Walls and Displays Showcases HoverPro at Digital Signage Expo 2013

LAS VEGAS, FEBRUARY 19, 2013 — Adaptive Video Walls and Displays, a division of Adaptive Technologies Group and the premier provider of innovative wall-mountable, floor-standing, interlocking and flyable video wall frames for multiple LCD, LED and plasma monitors, will showcase its HoverPro® single LCD monitor suspension device at Digital Signage Expo 2013 (DSE 2013, Booth 1715).

“Adaptive Technologies Group is known for its large fixed and flyable video walls so HoverPro is the ideal product to showcase at DSE, as it is a secure, reliable solution for single LCD monitor suspensions,” says Paul Allen, president, Adaptive Technologies Group. “In the world of digital signage, putting your message in front of the audience is key. HoverPro suspends any size video monitors anywhere inside a facility right in front of the target audience in hallways, doorways and checkout lines. Whether the HoverPro suspension is used in a permanent store location or for a trade show exhibit, Adaptive strives to offer the latest solutions with reliability and safety as its cornerstone.”

HoverPro is a single LCD monitor suspension device that allows you to deliver visual messages and content anywhere and without the limitations of wall mounting and/or expensive kiosks. Messages are permanently displayed above and in front of indoor target audiences by suspending and aiming large LCD and plasma screens (over 40 inches) from any overhead structure. As a pre-engineered rigging system, HoverPro adapts to the standard rear VESA-mounting hole patterns built into flat screen monitors to be safely rigged in portrait and landscape orientations.

These rigging kits provide installers with the ability to safely suspend and tilt screens into a wide range of viewing angles, from any location and distance from the roof. Down-tilt aiming is accomplished by way of suspending the monitors from the HoverPro’ multiple suspension points. An optional aiming device, the One-Way-Array®, may be installed in line, above the HoverPro, to provide up to 360 degrees of horizontal rotation. Additionally, a wide variety of standard off-the-shelf rigging hardware is available to allow the installer to safely assemble and “hover” the LCD or plasma monitor at any desired height and angle above an audience, store traffic and window fronts. Power is usually delivered along one of the suspension cables while the signal wire runs down the other suspension cable. Close fitting spiral loom then encloses both suspension cable and wire to deliver a very cosmetically appealing display.

Christie Interactivity Kit Now Shipping

Christie® is pleased to announce that the Christie Interactivity Kit is now shipping. Powered by Baanto™ ShadowSense™, the Christie Interactivity Kit is a distinctive solution for adding multi-touch interactivity to any digital display.

MicroTiles equipped with the Christie Interactivity Kit

Designed in pieces that fit perfectly around Christie® MicroTiles®, the Christie Interactivity Kit can be configured into 84 different sizes. The kit can accommodate practically any large format display up to 21.4 feet wide and 6 feet high, or a Christie MicroTiles array measuring up to 16-units wide by 6-units tall.

The easy-to-use, field-installable kits simply attach around the display wall perimeter and plug into a computer USB port without need for drivers. Windows® 7 automatically recognizes the Christie Interactivity Kit as a multi-touch device and no manual calibration of sensors or cameras is required. Using breakthrough Baanto™ ShadowSense™ technology, Christie Interactivity Kit offers excellent performance with high touch accuracy and fast response times that support up to 18 touches on a large-format display.

Christie Interactivity Kit – The Simple Answer
“Many large-format touch technologies struggle with touch accuracy and response time, especially with multi-touch,” explained Richard Heslett, senior product manager, Business Products, Christie. “Typically you have to manually position and calibrate cameras, and install special drivers or software that must be running on the computer in order for the system to work.”

Christie’s Interactivity Kit solves this problem by detecting the video wall’s size and configuration, and simply connecting to the computer’s USB port. When used with Windows® 7, which offers native support for multi-touch, the Interactivity Kit is automatically recognized as a multi-touch device.

“In addition to saving the time and effort of calibrating sensors and installing drivers,” continued Heslett, “the Interactivity Kit is both lightweight and small for easy shipping and maneuvering into buildings while special brackets for MicroTiles handle the alignment.”

Applications for Christie Interactivity Kit
“With their stunning image quality, colors and resolution, Christie MicroTiles are the perfect medium for large format interactivity,” added Heslett. “For example, on broadcast sets, where MicroTiles are very popular, an on-air commentator can analyze a sports event or election results using the Interactivity Kit on a large presentation wall. Because of their modularity, MicroTiles and the Interactivity Kit are both easy to move around and flexible in size, so they are ideal for temporary events and trade shows. Rental stagers can purchase one set of gear and create a multitude of different shapes and sizes with it.

“Other great applications include museums and public institutions where visitors want to explore and learn, higher education where students want to learn and connect with each other, and corporate spaces where information needs to be shared and analyzed by colleagues in a collaborative setting.”

Benefits of Christie Interactivity Kit:

-True multi-touch performance with excellent accuracy, resolution and response rates for large-format applications.

-Up to 18 touches on a 16 by 6 array (21.4 feet wide by 6 feet high).

-Ease of setup with USB connection and no drivers required.

-No manual calibration of sensors or cameras.

-Recognized by Windows® 7 natively as a multi-touch device.

-Seamless integration with Christie MicroTiles and Christie JumpStart.

“Now shipping, the Christie Interactivity Kit is an exciting breakthrough technology for creating large-format, multi-touch displays that was not possible until now – there is nothing like it. This technology opens up all kinds of new possibilities for connecting people with each other and with information, and for delivering impactful, branded experiences,” Heslett concluded.
